Today we are going to be taking a look at part number CU881080. This is the ComeUp Snatch Block. It is going to be idea for the ComeUp Winches DV2500I, 3500I, 4500I and the CUV4 and 4S winches. A Snatch Block is going to help increase your winches pulling power by adding an additional anchor point to run your rope through. It can also be used to change the direction of pull, without damaging the rope. It can be used to redirect the winch line to spool properly back into the winch. I am going to feature the quick opening side plates for easy rope installation.

Open up the side plates, place the rope in there, bring the side plates back together, and then you can attach a D-Ring or a shackle right here, and then connect it to your anchor point. The diameter of that opening, that is going to give us a measurement of 1 3/8 of an inch. Looks to have a nice zinc plating finish on it, so it is going to do a good job at resisting rust and corrosion. It is going to feature a mass capacity of 11,000 pound, and then the max rope diameter is going to measure 5/6 of an inch, that can be used with this unit. That is going to do it for today's look at part number CU881080.

I needed a snatch block for my ATV and after reviewing the description of this product I felt it would be sufficient for my needs. After opening the package, I was blown away at the quality of this product. I haven't used it yet but I feel it will be great when the need arises.

The Comeup Snatch Block is very well made and very durable. I bought my first one several years ago and it is still serving me well. Due to the positive experience that I had with the original block, that I bought from etrailer, I decided to buy another one for my latest project. etrailer has been great to work with. Is there a Powered System to Raise and Lower a Ramp Door on a Toy Hauler Trailer
What some customers have done is used an electric winch such as # DL25200 to raise and lower heavy ramp doors. The winch would have to be mounted up high and back a few feet from the door opening. The line will need to come straight out of the winch at least 12 inches, then to a pulley block such as # CU881080 so that it can turn downward as the ramp lowers.

Yes, a split reel winch such as Dutton-Lainson Worm Gear Hand Winch with Split Reel for 2 Cables - 1,500 lbs. Item # DL10952 is what you would need. You may also end up needing some pulley blocks such as # CU881080 for changes in the direction of the line(s) if not always a straight line pull. For wire rope you could use 2 of # DL24069 which is a 3/16 inch diameter, 20 foot length of cable rated for 1,800 pounds.

Capacity of ComeUp CU881081 Winch Pulley/Snatch Block
According to the folks in the engineering department at ComeUp, the # CU881081 does have a safety 'cushion' on top of the stated 6000 lb capacity, but they won't say what that figure is for liability reasons. For example, if the failure point is actually 10000 lbs, some folks would simply treat the capacity as 10K, which its not.
