2nd time I’ve had to replace this collar nut. Beware if you thought to use dielectric grease to help prevent water intrusion, don’t. The plastic material doesn’t handle the silicone and breaks. I’ve learned my lesson and I hope this one lasts longer.

by:

Ordered this to replace the threaded collar on a right angle 50amp Camco adapter I purchased a few months ago. The collar deteriorated and broke in a couple places, I’m not sure why but perhaps from dielectric grease I used to try and keep moisture out. On the replacement I did not put dielectric grease on so I hope the replacement fares better. I rated 4 stars just out of concern the replacement part will do the same thing.
It was easier to put on than I expected. See photos.

The old one was cracked, plastic felt cheap.
The
replacement also seams cheap, but works. Once I broke off the old one I put a little bit of soap around the inside ring of the new one And it snapped into place. I was expecting a heavier plastic replacement locking ring.

The customer service I received was absolutely unheard of. It was great. I had called a Camping World near where I was at the time to see if they had the replacement ring in stocks. After 3 calls, the parts department never returned my calls. So, after calling Camco, who suggested I contact e-trailer which I had shopped with before. I will always trade with e--trade from now on. Thank you Emily.

  • How Does Replacement Threaded Locking Ring # CAM55577 Install
Hey Kevin, we don't have any install videos for the Replacement Threaded Locking Ring # CAM55577 but I can help describe to you what the install is like. Basically you would need to press and turn the ring in and it will seat onto the connector. I have read that using hand sanitizer as a lubricant to get it on makes a big difference too so I would recommend that.

  • Installing Replacement Threaded Locking Ring # CAM55577
Replacement Threaded Locking Ring # CAM55577 would basically have to be pressed onto the connector. Ideally you would push on all sides at once which you might be able to do with something that has the same diameter. Otherwise you might be able to work it on by pressing it on at one point and then working your thumbs around the circumference of it: one thumb going clockwise the other going counter-clockwise.
