Makes hooking up to pintle trailer easier and holds the ring with less slop, so a tighter connection that smooths out the ride in the truck. Ordered a second one and will be getting more. Also allows easy towing of smaller trailers with conventional 2 inch ball requirements.

Works great. I have a hitch camera so when backing into the trailer the pintle touches the stops and your lined up perfect. The latch bar works really good also. I have only used the with a pintle hitch.

Just received my new pintle hook, have not installed it yet but at first glance I like what I see. It seems like a well made, made in U.S.A product that will make hooking up a little easier.

I really like this hitch, trailer does not bang on rough roads like typical hitches. Many people do double takes saying my hitch isnt locked. Its been used a lot in this past year and is wearing well.

    Hey Matt, Curt's intended use for the Curt SecureLatch Adjustable Pintle Mounting Plate # C52VV would be only with other SecureLatch pintle hook accessories like the # CU47FR, # CU97FR, or # CU87FR. There likely are other hooks that would have a similar bolt pattern and would "fit" but there isn't anything that's been tested and Curt would place all liability on you if you used a different branded hook and there was an accident or anything was damaged.

    I do have an option for you but there isn't any sort of quick change hitch ball system for the Curt SecureLatch Pintle Hook part # CU97FR which comes with a 2-5/16" ball. That said, you can either swap back and forth between this and the Curt SecureLatch Pintle Hook part # CU47FR which comes with a 2" ball or change the hitch ball each time with the Replacement Hitch Ball for Curt SecureLatch Pintle Hook part # CU67FR.
