Yes, the CURT SecureLatch Ball and Pintle Hitch with a 2" ball # CU47FR can be used with a trailer that has a 2" ball coupler. The pintle hook does not need to be used. As long as your trailer is equipped with a 2" coupler and the trailer's weight is within the hitch's weight capacity, it will work the same as a traditional 2" hitch ball setup.

@DiegoD ahh ok, those are typically for large cargo and vehicles. This will work well for heavy items like that.

@JamesD, Curt SecureLatch Adjustable Pintle Mounting Plate for 2" Hitches - 20,000 lbs how much up and down can you go because I need 6in drop for this to work.

@Diego The Curt SecureLatch has a 9-1/2" tall slotted mounting plate that allows the pintle hook to slide anywhere along the slots for continuous height adjustment rather than fixed positions.
