Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Erickson Soft Shackle. This lightweight, synthetic 20 inch long rope shackle is going to replace a steel shackle or D-ring using off-road winch recoveries. You're just gonna wrap this around a roll bar, axle or other point of attachment should create an anchor, and this is used as a connecting link between your rope hook and the tree saver strap, toe strap and other strap. This does have a working load limit of 11,400 pounds and a max load or breaking strength of 57,000 pounds.
The diameter of the rope right here where it's not wrapped together, it's about half an inch in diameter. And then here at the center point, it's closer to an inch and that's the two ropes being brought together there at the middle. So that's gonna be about an inch in diameter there, but this is gonna be very easy to use. You're just gonna wrap this around an anchor point, and then you're going to put the loop end over the knot end, just like that, and then you'll just pull this tight. So as you can see, this is gonna be very easy to use.
This UHMWPE synthetic rope is stronger than steel, but again, as I mentioned before, it's very lightweight. It's safer to use, and there's no pins to fasten. Obviously, you're not gonna have to worry about rust or corrosion with this, and it's actually gonna float in water if you accidentally drop this in water, so it's gonna be easier to retrieve out. As you can see, this is a red and black color. Something I wanted to conclude with, is this is not designed for lifting, and you do always want to inspect the shackle for damage before using.
If it is damaged, do not use that because this will obviously be compromised. I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
