Features to know about

When to Use a T-Connector

Use this T-connector any time you need to tap into an existing water line such as adding a kitchen faucet, running a branch to an outdoor shower, or splitting a cold water supply for a filter or ice maker. It's a go-to for upgrades, repairs, or rerouting lines during a remodel. Just cut the pipe, push on the barb fitting, and hand-tighten the compression nut for a leak-free connection. You can also remove and reuse the fitting if plans change.

Video Transcript for Flair-It PEX T-Connector Fitting Review

Hi, there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Flair-It PEX T-connector fitting. This T-connects your pipes and hoses in your RV fresh water plumbing system. So whether you're needing to repair a leaky connection, or if you're installing new lines, this is gonna do a great job for you. It will work with your PEX pipes, the old, gray PB pipes, as well as polyvinyl tubing. You can see, we do have three of these 1/2-inch barbed connections that will fit hoses and tubes with a 1/2-inch inner diameter.

Now, barbed connection, paired with the compression end means that you'll be able to get this installed without needing to use any tools to create a nice, secure fit for you. So basically the way this will work, you'll just slide that compression end over your hose or tube and then you'll get that barbed end inserted into your hose or tube. And that might take a little bit of doing, might have to wiggle it back and forth and apply some pressure there. But once you have that inserted, you can just slide that compression end over and then thread it down, and that's gonna create a nice, secure connection for you. You can do the same with the others as well and so that you've got that T connecting those three hoses or pipes.

Now, I tried this myself a few days ago. We had a very similar piece and some PEX pipe laying around, so I just put it together to see how it would work. I was super impressed with how strong that connection is. I was able to get it installed by hand. It did take quite a bit of effort to get that barbed end into the hose or the the pipe.

So I would recommend if you are gonna be in a confined space, like under a cabinet, something like that, you try and put that fitting on your hose or tube before you get into that confined space so that you have a little bit more elbow room to apply the pressure that you're gonna need. But once you have it installed, it is going to be super secure connection. This is constructed of a polyoxymethylene construction, so it is gonna be very durable and resistant to stress cracking. So if you are needing to connect three 1/2-inch inner diameter hoses or tubes, this is gonna be a great option. But this is just one of the many options that we have available here at etrailer.com.

So if you are needing to make multiple connections, I'd encourage you to take a look at those other options, and make sure that you're gonna have everything that you need for your project. That completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
