Whether you're using a dozer, backhoe, or heavy equipment trailer, this hook handles different fits with ease, ensuring a solid connection every time.
Every towing setup is unique, and the Curt Pintle Hook meets those individual needs with its versatile bolt-on design. The mounting holes are arranged at 1-3/4 inches apart vertically and 3-3/8 inches apart horizontally, with a 5/8 inch hole diameter, enabling straightforward installation on most pintle mounting plates. This adaptable feature makes it perfect for custom trucks and various trailer configurations.
Safety is a top priority, and the Curt Pintle Hook addresses it with a tethered safety pin included in its design. This small but crucial feature ensures that once the hook is latched, it stays that way, preventing accidental disengagement during transit. It's an added layer of security that’s simple yet effective for all your towing ventures.

Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Curt bolt on pintle hook. Has a 60,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now this pintle hook will let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. It provides this attachment point for your lunette ring coupler, and it is designed to fit lunette ring couplers that have an insight hole diameter of two and a half inches or three inches.
And basically what you would do is to hook it up. Just remove this safety pin, and then you'll have your handle right here that you can pull up on. And when you pull up on it, it'll release it and you can open up the hook. And then just like that, it's open. Your lunette ring, which will be on your trailer, you just dropped the lunette ring over the hook like that.
And then all you have to do is just push down and that'll lock it into place. And then for safety, you take this tethered pin, slide it through the hole all the way, and then clip that and that will keep it from opening. Now, this is a nice, strong, forged steel construction. You can see has a nice rust resistant high gloss powder coat finish. The safety pin we mentioned is tethered, and it is included to keep that pintle hook locked over the lunette ring. Now, this is a bolt on installation. It bolts to a pintle hook mounting plate with the included hardware.
Now that pintle hook mounting plate is not included. We do sell that separately on our website. The mounting hardware that is included includes four, five eighths inch diameter bolts, washers, and the nuts are all included for installation. A few specs again on this. The gross towing weight capacity is 60,000 pounds.
Tongue weight capacity is 12,000 pounds.Last thing I want to do is give you some mounting hole dimensions right here on the back. We'll measure center to center. So if we go horizontal, your mounting holes, center to center, is right at three and three eighths inches. And if we go vertical, center to center, it's right at one and three quarter inches. But again, just to demonstrate how to open up, we'll remove the tethered pin, just like that, pull up on that handle. And when you pull up on it or release it. Drop your lunette ring right over the hook there, and then just push that down. It will keep it into place and for extra security, just slide that on and flip it. But that should do it for the review on this Curt bolt on pintle hook with the 60,000 pound gross towing weight capacity.
