Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Colorado we'll be installing the DZNXT Running Boards with Custom Installation Kit, part number DZ16311-16319. Here's what our running board looks like installed. As you can see it's a nice, sleek look. They are 6 inches wide by 73 inches long. They are a full cab length running board to help us get in and out of our truck. They are coated in a durable finish that won't scratch or rust.
We have these nice rubberized grommets here to help provide traction in wet or snowy conditions. The 6 inch platform gives us a nice, sturdy, and easy way to get in and out of our vehicle. If your truck was to have a roof rack these will give you a great way to have a platform to stand on to help load and strap down any of your accessories to your roof rack. These running boards have a weight capacity of 350 pounds. Here's what our running board kit consists of for one side of the vehicle. We obviously have our running board here.
We have three mounting legs that will attach to the body of the vehicle. As you can see, two are the same and one's different. We have six bolts, six speed 00:01:28 nuts which will clip into the body and our brackets will attach to, and six nuts to secure our running boards to the brackets. If we flip our running board over you can see the hardware here that they'll attach on. You can take off the protective paper that holds them all together and we'll have two towards the front, two towards the rear, and two in the middle. Now that we've gone over some features of our running boards we'll show you how to get them installed on our 2016 Chevrolet Colorado.
Now, at the front of our driver's door there's a couple plugs underneath that we need to remove. The first plug right here, just take a screwdriver and pop it out. Now with that plug removed we'll take our bracket and see which other one we need to remove. This one right here, we'll pop that one out. We'll take our two nut clips, slide them through the large hole until it clips it into the small hole.
Now we'll take our bracket and the bolts. Start with the top one first. Get it started a couple turns, then we'll do the bottom one. You may need to tighten it up a little bit to push it in so you can get the bracket lined up just right. Once we get them both started we'll leave it loose and we'll move on to the other bracket. Now we're going to install our back bracket on the driver's side. We're all the way to the back, just behind our rear door. You know it's the back one because it's the last set of holes you see in the body. Pry these two caps off just like we did in the front. Start with our top one again, just get it in a couple turns and leave it loose. Now that both of our bolts are started in the back we'll move on to our middle bracket. Sometimes you have to have them start crooked in order to get the bolts to start. Once you start to snug them up, though, it'll straighten out. Now that we have all of our bolts started we can tighten them down a little bit. You can see once you start to tighten them down it does straighten out. Now we'll take our running board and we'll just sit it on top of our brackets like so, and we'll get our hardware started once our bolt's in position on the bracket. We'll move to the middle bracket and we'll do the same. We'll lift up on it and slide the two bolts down in position. We'll do the same on the front. With all six of our bolts now in place we can adjust the running board as needed. As you can see, we can slide our running board forward or back. If we have it slid all the way forward we won't be able to turn our front wheels very far, and the tire will make contact with the running board. If we have it slid all the way back, you can see that we don't have the best step all the way to our vehicle. What we're going to do is slide it forward until this edge here is even with that edge. If we go back to the back, you can see that it's pretty close to even with the total length of our cab of our truck before our bed starts. Now, not only can a running board slide forward and back, the way the brackets are made they're slotted, so you can push it in or out. If you have it all the way in, you're not going to have the most step in order to get into the vehicle. We're going to slide it all the way out, that way we have the most surface area for our feet to get onto in order to make it easier for us to get in and out of the vehicle. We're starting at the front bracket, making sure we're holding it in position. Make sure it's pulled all the way out and we're still in line with the front edge of the cab. We'll start our nuts and we'll snug them down. With our board now attached to our brackets we're going to finish snugging down our brackets to the vehicle all the way. Now we'll double check the tightness of everything by hand. There is no torque specification for these. You just want to make sure they're tight, but not tight to the point that you're going to break the bolt off. We'll do the brackets and the running board. With all of our nuts and bolts now tight on the driver's side, we can repeat this same process on the passenger side. That completes our installation of the DZNXT Running Boards with Custom Installation Kit, part number DZ16311-16319 on our 2016 Chevrolet Colorado.

They look really nice, I haven't installed them yet, but I am sure they will look great on my truck.
Goof product and excellent service
Still holding up great. Best investment I made for my truck
Exactly what I was wanting , easy to install and look great ! Install was around an hour
These tuck close to body but don't rub. nice wide foot print for standing on, and were an easy 75 minute install.
still looking good on my truck thank you for asking.
Looks great. Easy to install. I watched the[online] video on the install and it was super helpful
Very easy install and looks great. Suggestion for regular and super-cab installs that don't use the middle bracket - remove end cap and remove one T-bolt in each channel and reinstall end cap.
They look great they were easy to install all in all a good product
Quality of the running boards is good. I quickly learned that the design needs improvement. You cannot use it properly. Not enough clearance between truck and running board. It forces you to turn foot parrellel to step on or off. I wear boots and steel toe shoes in size 12. My daughter hates them. If I could return them I probably would.
I am so far very happy with my purchase. I still have to install them. I am going to have to augment an existing bracket for another vehicle as my 1996 Toyota Landcruiser J90 Prado is not supported by anyone. I will get this done. Thank you.
