Why are Running Boards for 2019 Chevy Colorado Extended Cab only Cab Length

Question:

Why does dee zee recommend ext cab boards for a crew cab. Wouldn’t you want the extra length so someone could stand to get in the box? If it doesn’t fit well why do they offer a longer version?

The wheel to wheel length running boards aren't as common on the mid-size trucks like your 2019 Chevy Colorado as the assumption is that the lower truck and bed height doesn't necessarily warrant the need for a step to help get into the bed of the truck. Since the longer bars would be more expensive to make the idea was to offer the version most likely to help. The longer crew cab steps for the 2019 Colorado wouldn't have the mounting brackets in the correct location so they would not work.

The DeeZee NXT steps # DZ16311-16319 is a fit for your extended cab 2019 Colorado though and I attached an install video for them for you to check out as well.
