The Yakima OverHaul HD is built for serious hauling. It handles 500 lbs on-road and 300 lbs off-road, giving you the strength to carry ladders, lumber, kayaks, or rooftop tents without worrying about flex or wobble. The rack was tested to exceed ISO standards for rough terrain, so it can take on speed bumps, swerves, and off-road adventures without letting up. With a crossbar spread from 36" to 89", you get a secure setup for long or heavy gear.
Switching between job gear and weekend gear is simple with height-adjustable uprights that move from 19" to 30" above the bed rails. Keep your load low for better aerodynamics or raise it up for stacking cargo underneath. The T-slots on the uprights and crossbars let you mount accessories like eye bolts, off-road lights, or a ladder roller exactly where you need them, so the rack adapts to your setup instead of the other way around.
Made from sturdy aluminum with a black powder coat finish, this rack stays rustproof and durable no matter the weather. The rubberized strips inside the top channels reduce wind noise and drag while protecting your gear from metal-on-metal contact. It’s tough enough for daily use, yet refined enough to look clean even after a hard day’s work or a muddy weekend trip.
No drilling or complicated setup here—the QuickChange system makes installation straightforward. Just slide the track adapters into your truck’s utility tracks and tighten them down. The BedGrip clamps secure the rack to the bed rails, and etched measurements on the uprights and crossbars help you center everything fast. When you need full bed access, the whole system comes off in minutes.
Tie-down points built into the uprights and crossbar endcaps make it easy to strap cargo exactly where you want it. The Same Key System (SKS) lock cores secure the uprights to your truck and can be swapped out to match other Yakima gear. And when the day’s done, the signature integrated bottle openers are a small but handy touch that show this rack was designed by people who use their gear.

Thanks for sharing your experience! It sounds like you’ve got some awesome adventures ahead once the weather warms up. We’d love to hear how the rack holds up once you get everything loaded. I am also curious, what kind of bikes are you hauling?

This product has been working fantastically! It has done everything I expected and hoped it would do and looks great as well. Very user friendly and the family has enjoyed the river trips and bike trips alike. Being able to put 4 pricey mountain bikes on a rack and feel completely at ease that they are solidly attached is a great feeling. And I stand by my original post regarding your customer service and integrity of honoring the earlier advertised price. Thank you.

I continue to be very happy with the racks. They show no signs of wear despite heavy use. Ive used them for transporting both kayaks and lumber without issue. I expect them to outlast the vehicle.

Having had the rack for a year now, I am even more impressed with it. I have started carrying lumber more & more. I carried two 16 4x12s and it felt very secure. Because my bed is only 5 long the racks are pretty close together. Nonetheless- it handled the weight easily. The fact that the uprights slope a bit toward the center of the truck creates a trapezoid that is very stable side to side. In addition, the angled buttresses provide front to back stiffness. It amazes me that other companies build racks with parallel uprights.

One year later and the racks are still working great, no issues. Use them to carry my kayaks use the Thule hullavator and a Yakima cargo box. I have a few pictures if there is a way to attach images to comments.

I totally agree about the t-slots, it makes installing and uninstalling the rack so much easier than some other racks that don't. It also looks great on your tuck, Sean!
