This king pin lock has a disc tumbler locking mechanism. Unlike locks that use vulnerable spring-loaded pins, this ultra-secure lock is bump-proof. The cylinder has a series of rotating discs that can be correctly lined up only when you turn the corresponding key. Two identical notched keys are included to operate the lock. Because these keys feature 1 of nearly a million possible key codes, it's extremely unlikely that another individual will have a key that can open this lock.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this AMPlock King Pin Lock. Now this is a tamper resistant, very sturdy lock that's going to surround and latch onto your king pin of your trailer to help prevent potential thieves from trying to hook up. And this is going to help deter anyone from trying to steal your 53 foot long commercial fifth wheel trailer. And the opening here is going to be just shy of three inches wide and it's going to be about two and seven eight inches wide. And then the height is going to be just shy of three inches tall, so it's going to be two and 15/16 inches tall.
And so this is going to fit that standard fifth wheel king pin. And this conical design is going to help hinder thieves from trying to use chains. And this does have two locks, one on either side as you can see. So it should be twice as secure. And each lock is going to be covered by one of these covers here that you're just going to flip up so that it's gonna be very easy to access, but when you close it, it's gonna keep those key ways clear of dirt and debris, things like that.
So should always be clean and you should never have a issue with sticking your key into the lock. And the locks themselves are a rotating disc tumbler so that's gonna give you maximum security. And let me go ahead and just kind of give you a brief demonstration here. You are going to get four keys here. Everything's keyed alike.
So I'm just gonna stick the key in here, give it a turn, and I'm gonna pull that lock out. And I'm just gonna turn that back to the lock position. Then I'm gonna come over here and lock this as well. Pull that out. And I'm gonna turn that back to the lock position.
Now I do have a king pin here, so I'm just gonna lock that into place. And this is what I really like here. You can push these locks back into place without the key, just like that. And then just like that. And so as you can see now, the king pin is locked in there very securely. And then when you're ready to unlock this, and you're ready to use it, you'll just give the the key a turn, pull that out, come back over here, do that again, pull that out, go back to the lock position there. And then that's going to allow me to disconnect the lock from the king pin. So as I hope you can see this is going to be very easy to use, very secure as well. And then I'm just going to push that back in. And then I think you already saw it before, but you can see those pins inside of the opening there where that king pin is going to slide in. So this is constructed of a nice heavy duty cast iron construction. So this is gonna hold up really well for you and it's going to absorb shock to help prevent any braking or anything like that. This is gonna be very durable. And it's going to do a great job of resisting cutting, including cutting with torches and even liquid nitrogen. So again, very secure, very long lasting. And it does have a heat coat finish to help resist corrosion. And something else I wanted to point out here, you see these holes here, these are drain holes, so you're not gonna have to worry about moisture collecting inside of that opening there where that king pin is going to be locked into place. The king pin lock is very substantial and would be most difficult to remove without a torch. It's also easy to install and remove. Although it is more costly than the others, my peace of mind is worth it.
This lock is very impressive . Easy to use and works as advertised. Also, the service from Etrailer is second to none. I store my fifth wheel and this lock is very heavy duty. Nothing is 100% effective but this lock is very hard to tamper with compared to others.
Fit very well. Just had a little problem with the key # and key code. Doesn't designate which is which. Also, the warranty did not have my product listed on drop down list. But other than warranty registration all is great. Customer service was prompt and attentive.. amp lock received before expected delivery date.
The kingpin lock is doing fine. I don't use my 53ft dry van much now, but I am comfortable knowing that the lock is in place, working, preventing an easily stole trailer. Thanks.
I love this. It is definitely made for the Pullrite and the capture plate. Nice fit and it looks great instead of those gaudy yellow locks. This makes me feel as though my trailer is nice and secure too.
The lock is rock solid. I'm glad I purchased the lock for my 5th wheel RV trailer. Some of the locks out there a cheep. Not this one. You get what you pay for and this one does The job .

Happy with this product! Although a couple week delay from the factory I was kept in the loop via email. This product is solid, clean and heavy duty. Although I know this is only a deterrent, I believe this product is superior than others on the market!

This is my second Amplock and this one is a winner too. There's no way it's coming off without a fight. The lock spins like glass and only way the pin won't come out is if the little weather door gets in the way. You won't have to touch the grease and it isn't showing any rust at all.
So far, it's been great, I've had it for about a year. No attempts of theft. If you use a lube plate, you'll need to remove it to install the lock.
