Upgrade your power-up/gravity-down dump trailer from manual cranking with a 10,000-lb Atlas IV jack. Double-acting operation powers extension and retraction, and the 60" kit includes the valve, hoses, and fittings to tie into your hydraulics.

Highlights

  • Upgrade Your Dump Trailer to Hydraulic: 10,000-lb capacity and 26" lift replace repeated manual cranking.
  • Use Your Existing Dump Hydraulics: Connection kit lets the jack share a compatible power-up/gravity-down dump system.
  • Double-Acting Control: Hydraulic pressure powers both extension and retraction for controlled operation.
  • Connection Kit Included: Selector valve, four hoses, and fittings tie the jack into your trailer's hydraulic system.
  • Plan Your Hose Routing: Check pump, valve, and jack locations against the included hose lengths before installation.
  • Bolt-On Universal Mounting Bracket: Eight-hole pattern gives you more flexibility when matching the jack to your trailer frame.

Features to Know About

Put Your Dump Trailer's Hydraulics to Work

If you're still cranking a heavy manual jack even though your dump trailer already has hydraulic power, this Atlas IV kit lets you put that system to work at the tongue too. The jack gives you 10,000 lbs of lifting capacity and 26" of lift for easier hitching and unhitching when you're dealing with a heavy work trailer. Because the Atlas is double acting, hydraulic pressure powers it in both directions. You get powered extension to raise the trailer and powered retraction when it's time to bring the jack back up.

Share Your Power-Up/Gravity-Down Dump System with the Jack

The included connection kit is designed to let this double-acting Atlas share a compatible power-up/gravity-down dump trailer hydraulic system instead of requiring a second power unit. A 6-port selector valve directs hydraulic flow between the jack circuit and the dump cylinder, while the included hoses and fittings make the connections between the existing system and the new jack. The jack itself does not have a built-in manual override, so emergency operation will depend on the capabilities of your trailer's hydraulic power unit.

Plan the Plumbing and Match the Bracket to Your Trailer

This kit includes two 60" hoses and two 22" hoses. Before installation, you should compare those lengths with the locations of your pump, selector valve, dump cylinder, and jack. Trailer layouts vary, so planning the routing first helps you choose a practical valve location and determine whether the included hoses will reach where you need them.

The universal eight-hole bracket gives you a bolt-on mounting option when the pattern matches your trailer frame. You should check the bracket and bolt-hole dimensions on the jack to make sure it'll work with your trailer. Mounting hardware is not included, so you can choose the bolt length that fits your frame thickness.

Once it's mounted, glide bearings help prevent contact between the inner and outer tubes, while Stillwell's seal design helps improve cycle life and load holding. A zinc-plated swivel foot and powder-coated steel construction add protection for repeated work around a dump trailer.

by:
product it self is good, jack is quality, controls and hoses are high quality the dumb part is no instructions or labeling on the control valve- so its trial and error for hose installation. jack mount is odd pattern so you will be fabricating in some way to mount it-

Sorry about the lack of instructions, Sean. I will see if I can get those added to our site so they are available to everyone. Surprised they weren't included. What did you install this on?

I can’t believe that I waited this long before switching the hand crank to the hydraulic system. All of my buddies are like I need one of those. I had no choice mine broke and my neighbor did his and yes awesome invention.
by:
The most difficult part was removing the old mechanical welded in jack. Wound up using a combo of a cutting wheel and a plasma torch. One the new jack was in position, I welded it complete, painted the area, hole sawed two 1" holes in the pump storage box, installed grommets and completed the plumbing. Bleed the jack per the instructions I found online and it worked like a champ afterwards. My only complaint would be that there were no instructions what so ever but was able to locate them online with Stillwell, the manufacturer.

This rating is based on the product description. I can’t install it due to some extremely short hoses. While shopping I assumed the “39 in.” vs the 48 in. meant the hose length and it does. For the long hose anyhow. The short hoses are so short they limit the positioning of the transfer switch. If I put the switch close enough to use the short hoses, then the long hoses are too short. None of this hose length is shown in the product details. Now I have to get custom hoses made. I would seriously consider ordering without hoses as these hoses are stiff and positioning and placement make it difficult without custom sizing.

Have not installed it yet but appears to be very heavy duty built. Cant wait to use it.
by:
Great place to buy your equipment needs, thanks
by:

by:

Jack extremes no problem but does not retract up. Sellers has no clear instruction on installation.

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble getting the Atlas to retract. We will reach out shortly and help troubleshoot through this.

by:
Upset that I had to pay an additional 250.00 for two longer hoses and one shorter hose. The two short hoses from the pump to the transfer valve should have been the same size. One was 6 inches longer.
The long hoses from the jack are way to short.
Also the packaging was terrible. Box was all ripped up and taped. Lots of scratches.

  • Is There A Hydraulic Jack That Ties Into Hydraulic System Of Big Tex 14LP Dump Trailer?
Hey there Matthew, The hose lengths are the first thing I’d check. The Atlas IV Kit # ST84VR includes two 60" hoses going to the pump and two 22" hoses for the jack, so I’d measure from your pump to where you want to mount the selector valve, then from the valve to the jack. If those runs fit within those lengths, I’d go with the complete kit rather than sourcing everything separately. Your Big Tex 14LP should already have the hydraulic pump needed since the dump bed is hydraulically...

  • Recommended Hydraulic Trailer Jack to Work w/a Existing Hydraulic Pump System
Yes, it will Stephen. The Atlas IV Double-Acting 10K Hydraulic Trailer Jack w/ Connection Kit for Dump Trailer item # ST84VR is designed to connect directly to the hydraulic pump that's already running a dump bed type setup. This kit includes a 60" hose, manifolds, and adapters for a easy setup. It’s made to work with both single-acting and double-acting hydraulic systems. What kind of trailer do you have? Hey Ulisses, the hose length of the Stillwell Atlas IV 10K Hydraulic Trailer Jack w/ Connection Kit for Dump Trailers # ST84VR is 60 inches. That's 1 foot shorter than what you said you need.

  • Can I Add the Stillwell Atlas IV 10K Hydraulic Trailer Jack to My Big Tex Dump Trailer?
Hello Jonathon, Yes, the Stillwell Single 10K Dump Trailer Conversion Kit # ST84VR will work great with your existing hydraulic dump system on your Big Tex trailer, whether it's a 6K or 7K model. This kit is designed to connect directly to the hydraulic pump that's already running your dump bed, so there's no need to install a separate power unit just for the jack. It's a pretty clever setup that lets both the jack and the bed run off the same system. The kit includes everything you’ll...

  • Length of Hose Included with Atlas IV 10K Jack Kit ST84VR
Hey Heracio, thanks for reaching out! The Atlas IV Double-Acting 10K Hydraulic Trailer Jack w/ Connection Kit for Dump Trailer # ST84VR comes with a 60" hose length while the Atlas IV # ST67VR has a 39" hose length. These both have a 10K weight rating so you'll just need to measure how long your current hose is and get the jack that comes with a hose close to the length of what you already have. Is your trailer jack damaged, or did is it just worn out?

  • Recommended Double-Acting 10K Hydraulic Trailer Jack that Can Be Welded Onto a Trailer
Unfortunately, it is not Chad but I have one that is. The Atlas IV Double-Acting Hydraulic Trailer Jack item # ST73FR would be the correct one. It comes with the universal bolt on bracket but the entire jack casing is made of steel so it can definitely be welded to your trailer's frame. You can remove that mounting bracket if it's in the way or just leave it there and then all you'll need to do is scrap off some of the finish when you weld it to your trailer. The Atlas IV Double-Acting...
