Video Transcript for How to Install the WeatherTech Front Auto Floor Mats on a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox

Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox we're going to be taking a look at the Weathertech front floor mats in cocoa, part number WT473461. Also available in black, part number WT443461; and in gray, part number WT463461; and in tan, part number WT453461. Here we've got the factory floor mats. As you can see, there's dirt and debris that's collected on top of them, but you can also see dirt and debris that's gotten off of them and begin to collect underneath. Let's remove these and install the Weathertech. We'll slide our Weathertech in. Here it's going to pop down onto those factory posts to help secure it in place and make sure it doesn't go anywhere. The biggest difference that we're going to see between that factory floor mat and this Weathertech is the coverage that comes up here underneath the pedals.

We've got nice coverage up underneath the gas pedal, where we didn't have any with the factory floor mat. It just comes all the way up here nicely, giving us coverage that that factory mat didn't. Over here at the threshold we can see this nice lip that contours nicely and is raised to help make sure that anything that collects on here stays on the floor mat and doesn't get to the carpet underneath. Then we got that lip going across the front of the seat so that we got really good coverage there, and all the way across to the center console. Then over here at the center console it's got that nice lip, but then it's even got this little cutout down here for this vented area on the kick panel. Then here we've got ridges and channels in the base of the floor mat here that are going to help to control any spills or debris, anything that collects on here.

It's going to help to control it, make sure it doesn't move around too much. Also, that's going to help to keep the driver's feet up off of that so it doesn't collect on the bottom of their shoes. Over here on the passenger side we can see the same thing with the factory floor mat. It's letting things get off to the carpet around the sides, and therefore running the risk of that getting ground down into the carpet. Let's remove this one and install the Weathertech. We'll slide our Weathertech into place.

You can see we've got all those same great features that we had on the driver side. The thing I like most about these floor mats is how well they contour to the floor and how nice they look. It gives an even nicer appearance than the floor minutes and it also gives much better coverage to help protect the carpet underneath. In order to clean these floor mats you simply remove them from the vehicle. You can clean them with soap or water or you can pick up the Weathertech cleaner and protector kit, part number WT8LTC36K and air or towel-dry them.
