Is There a Replacement Strap to Hold the Thule Epos in the Folding Position

Question:

I have a Thule Easy Fold three bike rack. I lost the strap that holds the base together in the folded position. Tried finding the part on your site but am unsure if it is the same as the straps that hold the wheels on. I seem to think it is but dont want to buy one only to find I have wasted your time and mine if not. Please advise. I can send a picture for reference if required. Thanks in advance. Rory

Thanks for reaching out, Rory.

The Thule EasyFold # TH903202 is only available as a 2-bike rack. However, Thule does offer the Epos # TH34FR44SR, which is a 3-bike rack and folds up in a similar fashion to the EasyFold.

I checked both our demo video and the parts included with the rack, and there is not a separate strap designed to hold the rack in the folded position. I linked one of our demo videos below. At the 14:40 mark, Kurt shows how the rack folds up.

One thing to keep in mind is that the folded position is intended for storage only. The rack should not be mounted on the back of a vehicle and driven in that position.

If you'd like to use a strap to help keep it folded while storing it, something like the Wheel Holder Strap # HRSPRVEL would work well. It's a Velcro strap designed for a Hollywood Racks bike rack, but it can easily be used for this application too.

You can also reply to the email you'll receive with this response and send me a picture of the strap you're currently using. I'd be happy to take a look and see if we have something that's a closer match.

@RoryS Thanks for all that information. I was able to track down that Thule only sells the 3-bike version in their European market designed for European-style towballs. At this time we are unable to get any replacement parts for racks that are not designed and sold for the US market.
