Video Transcript for Review of InfiniteRule Trailer Tongue Lock - Trailer Coupler Lock Kit - IR57RR

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a look together at this InfiniteRule Trailer Coupler Lock Kit. Now this trailer coupler lock kit is designed to keep your trailer safe and secure when it's not hitched up or when it's locked to your tow vehicle. The main coupler lock is going to work with straight-tongue couplers featuring a Posi-Lock latch, and it does fit most standard trailer ball sizes from 1 7/8 inches, 2 inches, and 2 5/16 inches, as well as trailer tongues up to 4 1/2 inches wide. And this does feature multiple locking positions.

It's going to be able to easily adapt to different coupler shapes and latch sizes, and a lock protector is included as well. So let me see if I can give you a brief demonstration of this. So I do have a 2-inch ball straight coupler here, and I'm gonna go ahead and just show you how easy this is to lock up. Now, this ball is set right now to fit a 2 5/16-inch ball coupler. I'm gonna take that top portion off, and when it's like this, this will fit the 2-inch and the 1 7/8-inch ball couplers.

And as you can see, I do already have this ball adapter, if you want to call it that. I do have this mounted to the plate already with the included carriage bolt, and I have it on there pretty tight. But you can see that it is adjustable as well, so this is basically going to be custom fit, if you will. So that's a nice added touch. So I'm just going to couple this onto that adapter there, and you can see that it is attached to it.

And then I'm gonna just take our top portion here, and then I'm gonna go ahead and just set that into place. And I'm gonna take my lock here and take one of the keys and insert the key, and then I'm just gonna turn this counterclockwise like I'm loosening a bolt, and then that's going to come undone just like that. And so the idea here is to get this as tight as possible around the latch and find the best matching holes that the lock can go through. So I think I found it right there. Let's see if I can run that through here quickly, just like that.

Okay, so I'm all the way through. And then you're supposed to take this lock protector and just slide that over. Actually, I think I wanna do it this way, like that. And then you wanna make sure you've got a firm connection there with the lock. And then I'm gonna start turning this clockwise, like I'm tightening a bolt here, and then that's going to allow me to get this tight into place. And then the idea of that lock protector is just to protect this from bumps or anything like that, for basically from it getting damaged. So tightening this up here, I think I'm pretty tight. And then to remove the key, you're just going to line this up to the nearest set of hash marks around the ring. I know that might be kind of difficult for you to see. That's going to allow you to release the key. And I'm gonna close the cap, and you can see that cap fits right into the divots there of that lock protector. And so I'm good. As you can see, I've got a nice tight fit on here. And this is bright orange, so that's gonna make it easy to spot. And the idea is a would-be thief is going to see that, and they're just gonna keep on going. They're gonna know that this is locked up. So this is really gonna act as a good theft deterrent. So that's gonna be how simple this is going to be to get this to locked up, and now I'm gonna go ahead and just reverse everything that I did here, get that key back in, unlock this. This is built from heavy-duty stainless steel. It's gonna give you long-lasting corrosion resistance. And then, as you see, our locks here, I'll have these rubber caps, so it's gonna protect that keyway. So I'm gonna go ahead and remove this here, just like that. (metal clanking) So that's how easy it's gonna be to remove. I'm gonna go ahead and put that back on, put that into place like that, and then just go ahead and tighten this up so I don't lose anything. Now what I also wanted to show you is you see that you can lock this up when it's unattended, which is great, but then when you do have your coupler locked onto a ball, I've got a 2-inch ball here, (metal clanking) so I'm coupled to the ball here, as you can see. This also includes this matching flush style coupler latch lock that's going to secure the trigger latch while it is coupled to your trailer. So I'm just gonna, again, same operation. InfiniteRule has the same procedure with locking and unlocking. I'm gonna run the pin through, just like that. Hopefully, you can see what I'm doing there. Line that up and then just tighten that up. And so while you're coupled to your ball there, make sure I got a firm connection there. There we go, tightening up. You're gonna be able to have that locked to that ball when it's hooked up. So again, you're gonna be locked both ways and then remove it the same way as well. And, again, everything is very well built, quality materials. And then I'm just gonna take this off here. And then you also are going to get this flush style hitch lock that's going to secure your ball mount or other hitch accessories to your 2 or 2 1/2-inch trailer hitch receiver. Everything is keyed alike. You are going to get a total of six keys. One key is going to run the show, and then you can give other keys to maybe friends or family members that you're traveling with in case they need to access the locks or just have the other ones at a safe location, so you don't have to worry about being stranded without any keys. So hopefully, the brief demonstration gave you a good idea of how this works out. Very easy to use. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We ultimately wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining.
