Over the years this is the 3rd trailer hitch I have gotten for different vehicles. As such I have long term experience using the products .
With close to 7 years use no problems or rust or failure. Equal to those you get through dealer at less than a third of the price.
I have installed all 3 solo and I'm not a motor head.
Perfect fit clear instructions. Not much on the internet on installing these but the instructions got me there about 2 hrs
The hitch was pretty easy to install and is working great! I love etrailer, I've bought 3 hitches from them.
First, the written instructions are wrong which made for some wasted time and energy.
The included PDF and website state: "Install a tube spacer on the driver-side
frame rail by bolting the middle hole"
But this is incorrect, it has to be installed on the passenger side. I installed, reinstalled, and then only when I came back and laid everything out did I realize it was wrong. Very frustrating for those of us that read instructions.
The instructions could also be more detailed. The space is held on with a single bolt in the middle and if the alignment is not perfect when you push the very tight hitch into place it's impossible to get it aligned then. I found that putting the old two bolts in just a little then torque that center bolt made it stay in place even when forcing the hitch into place later. Another waste hour trying to remove the entire hitch to fix alignment issues.
While not directly related to this part but the install as a whole the power on the ev9 is probably easier for a few models. I found there are connectors right in the trunk made for this, might be the GT model only but this wasn't suggested at all from etrailer. To add to this, there is a fuse box (probably on all models) in the back too that you can tap into vs running a wire all the way to the battery.
Oh, one more thing. The shape of the body makes it hard to get a wrench up to the front bolt so I had to go buy a smaller crow foot socket to get up there. Just something to keep in mind if you can't get your tool up there.
Besides ALL of these issues, the product seems solid, shipping was good, and I always enjoy the service from etrailer.
Looks great, solid fit but no holder for the 4 pin connector.
Instructions were clear and everything bolted in place without too much trouble. This is the second Curt trailer hitch I have purchased over the last 10 years. The protective finish is high-quality and it’s great to see that it’s made in the USA.
There are definitely some challenges if you are not installing a trailer hitch with the vehicle on a lift. While the instructions do not mention needing them, if you are installing this with the vehicle on the ground, two jack-stands are almost required in order to get the trailer hitch bar lifted up underneath the vehicle and held in place while the bolts are secured.
While you do have to cut out a portion of the under body panel on the EV9, there are clear markings from the factory that show exactly where to cut. I used a Dremel tool, and it was very easy.

This is our third trailer hitch from etrailer and we've always been pleased with the quality and longevity. I just put this one on our new Kia EV9 yesterday and it looks great. A few notes for anyone else that may be installing this hitch on an 2024 EV9:
1. The 10mm nuts on the underbody panel are on rather long bolts, so you need a deep socket to reach them. I just used a wrench to get them, but its a little challenging because they're also in deep holes.
2. The 14mm nut is attached to the panel, so you have to add some resistance by gently pulling down on the panel some while you're loosening it. Otherwise, it just spins in place.
3. It looks like there are 12 push fasteners to remove, but there are only 8 (as the directions state). If you look closely, you'll see the four that don't need to be removed (one in each corner closest to each tire, and if I remember correctly the third one in from each tire).
4. The directions say to install the spacer on the driver's side. My hitch came with a spacer already welded on the hitch on the driver's side, so I installed the spacer on the passenger side.
5. The directions say to put one bolt in the spacer temporarily while you're attaching it. I would recommend putting them both in to make sure the holes are properly aligned with the frame. Also, not a bad idea to start all four bolts into the frame before you put the hitch up in place to make sure the threads in the frame are cleared out.
Super easy install onto KIA EV9. Can be a little hard to hold up the towbar while installing, so if you can get a second set of hands, it will make it a lot easier. You do have to cut out an area to refit the plastic undercarriage piece back on. But it’s pretty easy to do
Part fit as expected however installation instructions are incorrect; the driver/passenger sides are switched. Driver side is the side with welded-on spacer and passenger side separate spacer.
This worked OK for my EV9, but the tightness of the fit required additional steps in which I had to use a jack to fit it up into the frame. This issue would have been avoided if both sides had removable spacers (this kit has one welded). If I were to do it again, I would opt for a kit that had both spacers separate from the bar.

Love the photo! I have never seen wheels like the ones on your '24 Kia EV9 - they look so futuristic! What will you be hauling with the new hitch?
Fits great and pretty easy to install. Kia doesn’t make it super easy to get 2 of the bolts in with a socket. Instructions we great.
Item was exactly as described, fits perfectly on my 2025 Kia EV9. No issues! Very satisfied.

Lightning fast shipping. Uhaul said very easy to install.
Seems pretty solid but two stars dropped on the shipping protection and packaging. It was just wrapped in plastic wrap and arrived with damages on almost every edge. Would avoid buying this product with etrailer!
