My Curt hitch arrived today - on time via UPS. I got an order confirmation immediately & shipping confirmation soon after that. etrailer kept me informed of everything regarding shipping & delivery. The price of the hitch receiver was $xxx vs Curt's msrp($xxx) on their website. Thats 47% less! Free shipping too! Can't beat that. My installer couldn't beat it either, & they sell Curt hitches. Next time I need a hitch, I know where I'm buying it - etrailer!
Delivery was as promised; price was better than competitors; installation instructions and online video were comprehensive and helpful. Online retail site is excellent. I appreciate searching by vehicle year, make, and model, as well as links to related products. My only issue is that there is no hitch designed for Niro PHEV; I had to cut out the 3/8 x 2 1/2 inch notch described in online Kia forums.
Great product for my Kia Niro Plugin. As previous reviews have noted, the plug-in requires a slight modification in notching the passenger side to accommodate an electrical conduit, but other than that the hitch and hardware all worked as planned. I was able to install by myself with the aid of some floor stands, although I'd recommend having a friend for this part as the hitch is measured very precisely and would be easier to push into place with two people.
This is a great product and was so easy to attach with the videos provided that are specific to my vehicle. It took longer to gather tools and jacks and get the 4-legged "helpers" out of the way than the actual installation (1 hour from start to finish). This thing is HEAVY DUTY, so having an extra set of hands to hold it in place while you start the bolts is a real effort saver. You don't want to drop it because a furry creature is licking you in the face, just saying. Company service is second to none, I would recommend to anyone adding a hitch to their vehicle.
Super happy with my purchase and support from e-trailer! I watched the video a couple times and it completely prepared me for success. The fit was perfect. Hitch worked fine. It was delivered promptly. I got it to use with an e-bike carrier, which I leave permanently on the car -- bought a year ago and have had no issues. I had our local garage install the hitch.
My time is very limited so I will be brief: Great hitch. Great vendor. Very good printed instructions. Very good instructional videos on the website. Very good customer service. etrailer is doing it right! I will certainly buy from etrailer again in the future when needed. Sorry, no pictures readily available.
We installed this on my sons Kia Nero EV. I know it's not specifically for the EV but we made it work. We had to cut a little piece of plastic (not noticeable from above), and we had to grind a little bit on one corner of the hitch to make it fit. Since they don't sell one for the EV I don't blame them for the fitment issue we had. I'm just happy we were able to make it work. I know we voided the warranty, but it works perfectly. He hauls a little aluminum fishing boat to the lake and the coast all the time.
Easy-ish to install by myself. It would be super easy if you have an extra set of hands. I've hitched a bike rack and carry 2-3 bicycles once or twice a month and haven't had any issues.
This hitch is NOT an exact fit for my KIA Niro EV but I knew that before buying. After slightly modify the mounting holes, I was able to install in my Niro EV. I only use this hitch for my bicycle rack and I haven't had and issue.
Hitch works as expected and is used in tandem with a platform 3 bike Kuat Transfer rack. 5th hitch I’ve purchased from Etrailer and very satisfied with each.
These are great quality hitches and pretty easy to install. I have installed one on my Isuzu Rodeo and one on my Kia Niro. I highly recommend etrailer and Curt hitches!
My second purchase from eTrailer over the yers and they continue to excel. I installed the Curt Class III hitch receiver on my Sister-In-Law's Kia Nero so she is able to add a rear cargo carrier for her various road trips. Installation per the video is flawless and the fitment is perfect.
Tip for the one man DYI in the garage. Insure to use jack stands to support your car of course on both sides. Use your hydraulic jack with some wood blocks and you will be able to support the hitch by yourself.
Not recommended, but if you take your time, it is possible.
Great product. Easy to install and I used the helpful video to install it myself. Use it with a bike rack and works great.
The Curt hitch fit my Kia Niro perfectly! The video instructions were great to help me install this hitch in only a couple hours. Good tips were included in the video. I added the trailer wiring at the same time, just in case. My main use of this rack is to carry a 4-bike rack, which it does well.
Etrailer is my place to go for hitches, great install videos, and excellent customer service!

Nicely made and a very good bargain at $125. Shipping was quick.
I installed this unit on a 2020 Kia Nira EV EX. Etrailer does not support this installation for good reasons. I wanted to let folks know that it is possible to modify this unit to fit on a Nira EV but, I would not recommend this unless you are prepared to make modifications which may weaken the unit.
The unit fits on the frame rails correctly but most of the holes do not line up correctly so you'll have to drill additional holes and trim flanges to clear the bolts/washers. I'm using the hitch for a lightweight bike rack so I'm comfortable with the modifications. Your situation will be different.

Ive used this hitch for a bike rack extensively for a year. Still works perfectly and looks perfect. No rust.
Great heavy hitch that fits ever so neatly under the Kia Niro. The spot-on precision of the design and manufacture is great.
Thanks to the informative video, the hitch is relatively straightforward to install if you have a helper and move the Kia off the ground a few inches by means of car ramps. I've done it on two Niro's and it is well within the capabilities of a handy DIYer.
As to function - the hitch is built to last. It works perfectly well with my Allen bicycle rack (carries up to 4 bicycles) and with an inexpensive cargo platform I got from Harbor Freight. By carrying stuff behind the Niro, instead on on a roof rack or in a roof pouch, you maintain good aerodynamics on the Kia and thus avoid a big hit on fuel efficiency (nearly 8 mpg I figure) when traveling a distance at highway speed. So in a certain number of trip miles the hitch will have paid for itself.

After a year the hitch still works perfectly. I mostly use it for a small cargo platform on which I carry extra luggage, big coolers, and even a desk! My gas mileage is the same as when unloaded, making this the preferred option to using the roof rack or pouch which loses 10 mpg due to the loss of aerodynamics.
The video is very well explained. It was quite easy to install on my Kia Niro 2019.
For the plastic panel on the driver's side which needs to be cut, I have removed less plastic: I have kept the small hole on the front side, so that I could still fix the plastic panel with a nut and a washer in addition to the 3 plastic push pins (see attached pictures).
Great price, quick free delivery. I would have give it a five star but it had too many areas that showed the metal part and it was very, very dirty! It came with all that is needed to install it! I did it by myself and I used the box it came in and a Jack to put it on! Good purchase.

My brother recommended etrailer when I decided to purchase a hitch kit for my 2019 Kia Niro. I plan to haul at least two dirt bikes and likely my camping gear from time to time. My need was sparked by spring cleaning when I realized how much junk needed hauled out of my life. I was impressed at how easy and accurate the search tool and the filters were. I found my make and model and the products that fit my vehicle so easily I was truly amazed. I immediately noticed that every product that etrailer sells had a list of very detailed reviews, installation videos, recommended tools and lots of other information. I purchased a Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" and a T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. I watched the accompanying video for the hitch installation one time all the way through. I was able to gather all the tools and get my vehicle set in just a few minutes. I revisited the video three or four times throughout the process. The hitch went on just as smoothly as the video showed and I am confident that it will reliably haul exactly what its rated for. The hitch fits nicely and is tucked safely below the fascia where you won't wack your ankles on it. It is clean, sturdy and rust resistant. I look forward to my first haul. I have yet to install the wiring harness but only because I ran out of time over the weekend. I will update my review when I have completed the installation of the wiring harness.
I've had this hitch for my 2019 Kia Niro Plug-In hybrid for about a year.
The fit was a bit tight, and I needed to spread the ends a few millimeters in order to get the hitch to slide in place. Once I spread the ends though, the hitch slid nicely in place, taking about 15-30 min to install.
I've been using it for my Kuat bike rack most days since, and love the way the hitch looks and works!
The hitch went on easily and came with everything I needed to install it. The fit was good and bike rack fits snugly. I was surprised to see that after about a year, the steel around the sleeve of the hitch had begun to rust, peeling the paint and flaking the top layer of metal. I live in New England, so I expected it to rust eventually, but it happened a lot faster than I thought it would. I would suggest that anyone living in areas with high road salt use be sure to grease and rinse the hitch regularly. I didn't, and it's coming back to haunt me.
Everything included. Install time as stated about 1+ hour. Easy. Not one issue. Perfect fit. Very rare these days. Thank you etrailer job well done.
