Fast and free shipping, good fit on car. Came with keepers for fishing the bolts through the subframe, very impressed
The hitch is great! Instalation was a major job. No room to work. Very tight. Not even one flat at a time. On your back working by feel in a very awkward position. Once installed no problems but be aware it's a job installing. Third one I've done. Worst by far. First two no sweat.
Proper fit and easy self install once I got the hang of how to use the bolt guides.
Only practical use on a 2017 malibu is for a bike rack.
I'm only giving 3 stars because the hitch is "highly over-engineered and much too heavy".
I've had several Class II hitches in my life and the C12185 is without a doubt the "heaviest" I have ever owned for a Class II.
In my opinion (and I'm an engineer) the hitch is much too "beefy" and Curt could have easily trimmed off 5-7 lbs of steel in hitch without sacrificing strength.
E-Trailer provides good service and price. I have no problem with them.

This is my third purchase from etrailer. If I get another vehicle, they will get another purchase from me. The products they have are excellent and easy to install!
I picked the Curt because it seemed easier to install. In doing so I soon realized that the tolerance between the hitch and the exhaust pipes was going to be a problem. It has turned into a huge problem. It constantly knocks on the exhaust pipe weather there is anything hitched up or not. If I could have a do over I would go with the DrawTite.
I just intented to use the hitch with a bike rack and it serves that purpose well. Installation took longer and was a little more difficult that anticipated. Some parts privided were incorrect for the application on the new Malibu. Contacted Curt directly and we worked through the required parts and they were very good in getting them promptly sent out. It's my second rack from Curt and wouldn't hesitate to buy again if needed. All good!
The trailer hitch and the wiring kit were both excellent quality. The delivery was fast and the instructions and installation videos were very helpful. Don't be afraid to do it yourself. You'll save yourself a bunch of money. Great place to do business.
Nice quality strong construction, but I wish you could manufacture the same hitch with a 2 inch receiver, that would work for more option attachments. Yea I know it's probably regulations. Thanks I would send pictures,but the hitch is in NY and the car is in Fla.you will have to wait till winter.
High quality product as usual with Curt. The instructions we’re actually a bit more complicated than they need to be, on this particular vehicle. However knowing what I know, Everything was there for a clean application. etrailer service and prices we are again top notch.
I wish you offered a 2” opening for Kuat 4 bay bike racks. Other than that your a GREAT company.

Excellent rock performs beautifully extremely strong and relatively straightforward to install if you’re familiar with removing the rear bumper etc. I would definitely recommend this product it works great

Fits perfect and was easy to install. Included fish wires to pull bolts in place. Hardest part was to get muffler off hanger which took 5 minutes. Very satisfied.

Amazing I love it ??
We've traveled with our bikes many times. We are pleased with the ease of use and knowing our bikes are secure.
I've had several Curt products before and have been happy with them. The problem this time is that I'm missing one bolt. I will need to find the specs on it so the proper replacement can be found. Haven't installed yet.

Occasionally a newly installed hitch will make contact with a vehicles exhaust system, even if the hitch was installed properly. The exhaust-to-hitch contact can result in a rattling noise. So long as the hitch is the correct model for your vehicle and it is installed properly, there are solutions available to correct the problem while retaining the hitch.
