Cold mornings are tougher when a large engine is turning thick oil. This 500-watt pad warms 13 to 27 quarts of engine oil or 20 to 50 gallons of hydraulic or transmission fluid to improve flow before startup.
When a truck or piece of equipment has been sitting outside all night, thick engine oil adds to the work of getting it started. This 500-watt silicone pad warms 13 to 27 quarts of oil through the metal pan, reducing resistance during cranking and getting lubrication moving sooner. It's a practical option for larger engines that have to start and work in freezing temperatures.
The heater also works with hydraulic and transmission systems holding 20 to 50 gallons of fluid. Warming those fluids before operation can reduce the sluggish response you get when equipment has spent the night in an unheated shop or outdoors.
A larger oil pan or hydraulic reservoir doesn't necessarily have enough room for a larger heating pad. This one measures 7" long x 5" wide, and the entire pad needs to contact a flat, smooth metal surface. Check underneath the pan or tank for ribs, grooves, bends, and other raised areas that could leave gaps beneath the heater.
The adhesive backing attaches to either steel or aluminum, so you're not limited to magnetic surfaces. For a lasting bond, remove paint, grease, and dirt from the mounting area, warm the metal as instructed, and press the pad firmly into place. Once installed, it stays attached for future cold spells.
The built-in thermostat regulates the pad within a 170F to 200F range, cycling the heater as needed. Actual fluid temperature will vary with outside conditions, fluid volume, and installation. The included 6' grounded cord connects to a standard 120V outlet, so the heater is ready to use when cold weather calls for prewarming.
An oil-pan heater warms the lubricant, while an engine block heater (sold separately) primarily warms the coolant. For trucks and equipment that regularly see severe cold, using both addresses different parts of the starting process. A battery heater (sold separately) can also maintain available cold-cranking amps, giving you another way to prepare your equipment for freezing mornings.
Zerostart is a Phillips & Temro brand, from the company behind a broad line of engine, battery, and equipment heaters. If the Zerostart name is new to you, this pad comes from a manufacturer that has spent years developing products for cold-weather equipment operation.
Install only on steel or aluminum with enough flat, smooth, accessible space for the entire 7" x 5" pad. Avoid ridges, grooves, bends, and raised areas that prevent full contact. Do not install on plastic or composite materials.
Remove paint from an area slightly larger than the pad and scuff the metal with sandpaper. Clean with acetone or brake cleaner and dry completely. Warm the mounting surface above 100F (38C) before applying the pad.
Remove the adhesive backing and use the included scraper to press the pad firmly against the metal, removing air gaps. Apply the included silicone sealant around the edges, not underneath the pad. Do not use additional adhesive to secure it. Wait 24 hours before regular operation.
Never cut, trim, or puncture the pad. Keep the cord away from excessive heat, moving components, and abrasion. Avoid exposing the pad to ammonia or corrosive acids. Use a properly rated grounded extension cord suitable for outdoor use when needed.

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a quick look at the zero start silicone pad heater. Now you know the feeling. It's freezing outside, you turn the key, and the engine just groans and protests. This silicone pad's going to help fix that.
You're just gonna have to stick this on, plug it in, and it's gonna quietly keep your fluids warm so your engine is going to start up smooth. So no more cold morning battles. Now when the temperature drops, as you probably know, the oil thickens and fluids slow down, making your engine work harder, but this pad's going to gently warm them up so everything's going to flow freely and start up with ease, even on the coldest mornings. Now, cold starts can be tough on your engine and other components, scraping and grinding until the oil circulates. So by preheating your fluids, this pad is going to help prevent wear and tear, saving you from expensive repairs later on.
Snow, slush and rains are not going to bother this. This durable silicone pad is going to seal out moisture and it's going to stick securely to smooth metal surfaces. And then you're just gonna plug in this six foot long cord into a standard 120 volt outlet and it's gonna keep steady heat going all winter long. Giving you some measurements here, looking at the overall length where it's seven inches, your overall width about five inches. So this is going to be perfect for oil pans holding 13 to 27 quartz, or hydraulic, or transmission systems from 20 to 50 gallons.
So this is, again, silicone. It includes everything that you see here to get this installed and in place. And if you have any other questions, whether it's about this heater or anything else that we carry, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need. Again, my name is Andy.
Thank you for joining me.
