Video Transcript for All About the Taylor Made Marine Gas Strut for Boat Hatches-3691874-60

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at this replacement gas strut for your boat hatches. This is going to replace a worn-out or damaged gas strut on your boat hatch so that you can once again more easily open up your hatch, and you don't have to worry about it slamming shut, potentially causing damage or causing injury. So this is going to provide about 60 pounds of compression force, so it is going to take quite a bit to close it. So it will do a good job for you. You can see we do have two ball sockets, one on each end.

Those are straight on. They're not angled at all, so they're going to fit right onto your 10-millimeter ball stud. Our overall measurement when measured from the center of one ball socket to the center of the other, we're looking at right at 7.5 inches when it's expanded like this, so should do a really good job for you. It's a nice durable construction. Heat-treated steel, so it's going to be very strong, will withstand a lot. It also has a corrosion-resistant coating, so it's not going to rust.

Even if you're using your boat out in saltwater and some saltwater we're to get on this, it won't corrode, so it will do a good job for you.Very easy to get installed, and I think this is going to be a great option for those of you who are wanting to replace that gas shock or strut on your compartment for your boat. This is a great option. So that's going to complete our look for today. And, again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
