Video Transcript for Feature Review Taylor Made Marine Gas Strut for Boat Hatches-3691843-20

Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at this gas strut for your boat hatches by Taylor Made. This is going to attach to the 10 millimeter ball stud on your boat hatch to allow you to safely open and close that hatch. It won't allow it to slam shut. It does have 20 pounds of compression force, so it will allow you to more easily open up your hatch and prevent it from slamming and then make sure that it's got a nice smooth closure as your closing that hatch. This is right around 20 inches from middle of the socket to middle of the socket, right at 20 inches, so you want to make sure that that's going to work for you. This is a heat treated steel construction that's going to be very durable and strong.

It's got a corrosion resistant coating, so it's not going to rust or corrode. Even if you're using your boat in saltwater environments that saltwater is not going to cause any rust or corrosion of your gas strut here. This is going to be a great option for your boat hatches if you're needing a replacement strut. One thing to look for, this does not have any angle to it on our sockets, so it's a straight on for you there, so make sure that that's going to work for your application. If you are needing a 20 inch gas strut with the 10 millimeter ball sockets on both ends I'd say this is going to be a great option for you.Now keep in mind that 20 pounds of force, it's not a whole lot, so it's not going to be as strong as some of the other gas struts on the market, but, again, just make sure that it's going to fit your application. That's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com.

Thanks for watching.
