Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a look at the replacement gas strut. This has a lot of different applications, whether it's on your boat, your RV, or elsewhere, and it's going to allow us to replace a broken or damaged, or just worn out gas strut. These are usually going to be on compartment doors or on your boat hatch. It allows that to lift up and stay in place without you having to hold it. That way it's not going to come crashing down on you and bonk in the head or smash your hand or anything like that.
You can load in equipment, take stuff out, or do any kind of maintenance that you have to do inside that compartment.Let's take a little closer look at our strut here. This measures 20 inches long. We get that measurement from the distance between those two attachment points on either end. From center to center, we get 20 inches. Those attachment points are both going to be a 10 millimeter ball socket.
This does have 10 pounds of compression force. It's a heat treated steel construction. So it's going to be nice and durable, and it also has a corrosion resistant coating. It can even be used in salt water applications without any worries about it rusting. It's also nice for our RV applications as well.
We encounter salt out on the road,it's going to be good to keep it protected in all conditions. That's pretty much all there is to it for this guy. I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is the right gas strut for you. If not, we do have others available with different lengths and strengths. So check those out.
Thanks for watching. And we'll see you next time.
