Question:
Hi, Im helping a friend decide on a gooseneck hitch for their 2012 Ram 1500. The Curt C60730 is shown as only fitting the 6.5 bed, and not the 5.5 whereas the BandW BWGNRK1309 is shown as fitting both. Does/will the Curt fit the 5.5 bed? I am uncertain about which bed length they have, but am going to find out. Thank you. Patrick

I double checked with curt and I can confirm that the Curt Gooseneck Hitch # C60730 will indeed fit the 5.5' bed 6.5' bed and 8' bed models of the 2012 Ram 1500. The same can be said of the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1309. So they are going to fit regardless of bed size.
If y'all are trying to decide between the two, I highly recommend the B&W Turnoverball over the Curt. B&W products are known for being top quality. The ball uses a unique square base, which is more stable as it prevents the ball from turning in the hitch. Another advantage is versatility. B&W also makes their companion line of fifth wheel hitches which install using the Turnoverball gooseneck hitch. So if your friend ever has the need to tow a fifth wheel, they can easily do so without any additional installation time. Also all of the B&W products are made here in the USA, while the Curt gooseneck hitch it not.
Both hitches will install very similarly. I have linked an install video for each hitch below.
