Video Transcript for Setting up the Aries Automotive Seat Defender Cargo Area Protector on your 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe

Hi, I'm Matt with etrailer. If you go on a lot of trips and maybe go out doing a lot of camping and you need to throw a cooler back in your vehicle or you go out and work on some things every once in a while and you're throwing in some more bigger bulkier tools that you don't want the inside of your vehicle getting dirty, then the Aries Cargo Protector's gonna be a great way to protect your 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe. Now it isn't a custom fit so we're gonna have some areas that do kind of fold over a bit, but what we're mostly concerned with is just getting full coverage. So that's actually doing a really good job right now. 'Cause even back here we have all of that covered. And on the other side, with some room to spare.

Now looking at the very back of it near the hatch access area, we actually have this covering right now. And actually, I do like that because if we do have anything that is kind of heavy, if I have to lift up on that and just rest it at the back end of my vehicle, I'm gonna have that opportunity and I don't have to worry about scratching anything up. And then when I'm done with that, I can just simply fold this over so I can shut my hatch. Like I said earlier, this is gonna be weather resistant and you can really see it on this side right here. It's gonna have two different textures and materials.

This is your weather resistant side. It's gonna feel kind of rubbery and kind of tough. And it also has this textured surface to it, so it's gonna help stick to the ground so it's not gonna slide all over the place. And the other side's just gonna give us more of a clean look, something a little bit softer that I don't mind making contact with. And it's also gonna be very durable too.

And talking about that material, it is gonna be machine washable. So if you are having a lot of messes on top of this, you can just simply pull it out, wash it. Now if we're drying it, I just recommend either laying it out in the sun to dry or hanging it up somewhere because you don't wanna dry this in your dryer because that could melt your rubber. But what you get a lot of benefits from this style of cargo protector is with the seats down. Now of course this one isn't super large, we're still gonna have a few gaps.

As you can see on the side with our hatch, they have maybe about an inch or two space that is not getting covered. And the same thing is gonna be for this back area too. But to be honest with you, I'm kind of fine with that because if I have anything that is kind of messy, I don't want this getting too close to this back end because that could really just fall behind these seats and get on our floor. And honestly, if you are hauling a lot of gear or like I was talking about earlier, my dad does a lot of trapping. A lot of times he will have his back seats down and his back will just be completely full of traps and sometimes he'll haul maybe some game too. But yeah, that's definitely something to think about because you're gonna want a lot of coverage if you are hauling a lot of things. But at the end of the day, this isn't gonna be the type of protector that you want to have fully used all the time. This is something that you want to use more of an occasional thing. So after whenever you've hauled whatever you're trying to carry, then you can just simply fold this back up and store it somewhere in your vehicle. That is one of the benefits of having more of a universal cargo protector. And like you see it folds up pretty compact. And if you have any storage areas like I have right here, I can just simply put in here for the time being and be on my way. Now I do like this cargo protector. I think it is pretty durable. It can handle a lot. The one drawback of it though, is when we have those seats up, it's not protecting the back, which might be a minor issue for you, but if you have pets or anything that is gonna kind of get all over the place, then you're probably gonna get your seats covered too. Now, if you are looking for something that's gonna help rectify that, then I would recommend the etrailer Cargo Protector. 'Cause the way that works is it grabs onto the headrest so it protects the back of the seats and the floor as well. It even has a section that protects this back bumper area. But if you don't need full protection and that is a lighter duty option, you need something that is more rugged, then this is probably one of your best fits.
