Safety flags are required for a load that extends more than 4" beyond the sides or more than 4' beyond the rear. Only 1 flag is required if the load is 2' wide or less, and 2 flags are required if the load is wider than 2'.

The flag easily attaches to your load with the build in bungee cord. These are metal hooks and they're going to have vinyl coated tips so that way they don't damage your vehicle or gear. The polyester mesh allows wind to pass through for long lasting durability. It does meet Department of Transportation specifications. It's fluorescent orange in color. When it comes to the dimensions of the flag it's going to measure 18" by 18".

Received 2 red, mesh safety flags very promptly; look sturdy, mesh material is both
durable and the wind goes through it. This hard to find product will fill the need
for large (18" x 18") flags to attach to the D-rings of my 18' cataraft. Traveling
with the boat inflated on my utility trailer is quite the sight, want to be very visible and DOT compliant. Would have given a 5 star rating and attached pics, but it is not yet rafting season for most of us, so into the gear box they will go until June.

Easily attachable to mostly anything. Bungee stretches out to about 12". I like the perforations to help allow wind to pass through.
Without even getting it on I’m disappointed. A bungie cord runs the length of the flag but this makes no sense if wanting to attach it to a kayak. A snap hook or something that would allow one end of the flag to be attached to the bow or stern would work much better for my purpose. Thanks
I really liked how it attached to the trailer - and it did its job driving around town. However, I took it on the interstate once, and driving at 60mph shredded this thing to near uselessness in a single trip. Explored other options - and would pass on purchasing another one of these.
Product worked as advertised and as expected. See photos - the only way to haul 16' lumber in the 5 1/2 foot bed of an F150. My only complaint was the limited height adjustment. I have a Decked drawer storage system in the back of my truck so the cross bar was too low on its highest setting. As shown in the photos, I had to add an 8 inch riser to get up to the level of the bed. But it was easy and worked well with this new part. Be careful on steep driveways so that the hitch extension does not scrape. Good product - worth the cost.
