Hi, everyone. Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at these CargoSmart ladder hooks. These are going to be installed in our E-Track or our X-Track and give us a place to hook up a ladder. You will need more than one to make it work like this. They do come in packs of one, so we picked up two to hang our ladder sideways like this.
They can also be used for any other variety of things, whether it be cord or conduit, just hanging things up in our trailer or our garage to get things off the ground. Let's check it out. So this is gonna work really like any other E-Track accessory. You've got the latch up top that we can pull with our thumb. Feed it into our E-Track, slide it down, and it's locked into place.
If you want to use this in a pair of two, you will want them at the same height just to get a nice, even hold. But then we can just get our ladder loaded up. And then they can support 200 pounds, so more than enough to handle our ladder right here, and it gets a good strong hold on there. The outside of the hook is rubber coated, so it's not gonna harm the ladder or anything else that we put in here. Helps provide a little bit of grip to it, but it's gonna mostly provide protection.
On their own, they work great for things like cords and stuff like that. They do make J-hook versions of these that I think would be better for something like this just because it's a little bit deeper and can maybe support longer cords. But that's an option too. Whenever they're not in use, you can push them up into either side, and a little locking tab at the bottom will hold it, keep it from swinging out too far. So it's nice and out of the way.
When it's out like this, you've got seven inches of usable space, so that's how much room you have for a ladder or other cargo to attach in there. And although it looks pretty loose in this state, once it has weight on it, it does get a bit more secure. So that's just something to keep in mind when you're checking this out. Now, if you're looking for something that's gonna be just rock solid, then E-Track probably just isn't the way to go. It's really nice to be able to move this around and attach it in different places depending on our needs or if we want to rearrange without having to screw things directly into the side of our trailer or the wall of our garage. Because of that ease of use to move it around, it's not always the most secure. Just like a direct mount would be very stable, this always isn't. But with weight in there, it does take a lot of that movement out, and it's gonna be pretty stable and really functional for the trailer or the garage. And that was our look at the ladder hook from CargoSmart for your E-Track or your X-Track. I think it's gonna be a really solid addition to your trailer or your garage at home, and it's going to be a good way to get some stuff off the ground.
