Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side interior trim panels in your rear cargo area.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
Circuit-Protected Tail Light Converter
A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
This converter safeguards itself and your vehicle against possible electrical shorts and overloads with integrated short circuit protection. Just install the connector as indicated and rest assured that the wiring system of your vehicle will remain feedback-free.

Glad I found etrailer.com . Really easy to find the right harness for my Rav 4 and the instructional videos instilled a great confidence that I could do the install myself. Helpful hint to read all the reviews and watch all the videos from the various harness options as they might not all give the little nuances that help the job go easier. For example, this unit is designed to feed out the back hatch and have the door closed on it when needed but it appears as though I can also run the end through a hole in the bottom of my hatch area that has a rubber plug if I wanted to have it installed permanently on the hitch.
The trailer hitch and trailer light kit for my 2003 RAV4 was perfect. I installed both myself in about an hour. I hooked up my trailer and it all worked for me perfectly. Thank you.

Love the hitch and wiring. My son recently bought the same for his RAV4.
After trying to use a generic wiring harness from Advanced Auto I ordered this product for my 2002 RAV4. It arrived quickly and was very easy to install. It worked without any problems. No splicing, just plug and play.

really appreciate the package sent specific for my car. High quality parts packed carefully in a box. The item came sooner than expected. Now I am wiring a trailer. If wiring kits are sold from etrailer, I would buy it. Really appreciate the installation video. Saved a lot of time and frustration.
Trailer light wiring harness works great for 2002 Toyota Rav 4. Easy to install, lights are bright, no issues at all after one year. Highly recommend!!!
Price was very competitive and the website was very up front that it would fit with my particular model. It got here in 3 days and was very easy to install. Etrailer does a very good job on notifying you along the way.

I was in an emergency hurry for this item and etrailer promised the fastest shipping compared to several other retailers. I'm a first time customer and etrailer came through. Product is as expected, and pricing was very competitive. Also, etrailer's tracking system is better and way more detailed than Fedex and UPS. I don't understand that, but UPS showed me like two entries while etrailer had a whole page of every event that happened throughout the delivery trip./ A+!

Its still good and works flawlessly. I will soon be ordering another one from you for a 2014 Toyota Rav 4.
Within 3 hours of UPS dropping of hitch and wiring kit, everything was installed without a problem. Just as the demo movie showed. No surprises at all. Good product, great customer service, and fair price. What more could you ask for?
Glad I picked the plug and go trailer lighting harness. Simple as 123. Well worth the extra cost.

Unless you are towing very frequently, youd be better off leaving the trailer connector safely stowed in the cargo area of the vehicle where its protected until needed.
