These custom-fit TorkLift tie-downs mount directly to your truck’s frame—the solid foundation that keeps everything steady even over rough roads or long hauls. By anchoring the camper at the strongest part of the vehicle, the load stays centered and secure. That lower center of gravity means less sway from crosswinds and a smoother, more predictable ride mile after mile.
The brackets use pre-existing holes in the frame so there’s little to no drilling or modification required. Each tie-down mounts tight to the frame with minimal loss of ground clearance, giving you a clean setup that doesn’t hang low or interfere with anything else under the truck. The custom fit makes installation quick, straightforward, and repeatable when you move between front and rear mounts.
Made of strong steel and finished with a high-impact powder coat, these tie-downs hold up against road debris, harsh weather, and years of travel. The durable finish helps protect against rust and chips so the hardware keeps its integrity even through winter driving and long-term use.
When the camper’s off, just remove the tie-down arms and the brackets are barely visible beneath the truck. Everything tucks in tight against the frame so you keep a neat appearance without exposed hardware hanging below. It’s an easy way to keep your setup ready for camping season while maintaining your truck’s clean lines year-round.

Each arm has two pin holes that let you fine-tune how far it extends from the body. That extra adjustment helps clear fenders or sidewalls and makes it easier to line up turnbuckles for proper tension. With two anchor holes in each plate, you can offset your attachment points for better hold from multiple angles—keeping your camper firmly planted through turns, bumps, and miles of highway.

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at these TorkLift Talon custom camper tie-downs. These are going to provide the attachment point at the front of your truck bed so that you can secure your truck camper's turnbuckles. The rear tie-downs are sold separately, but you will need all four so that you can properly secure your truck camper to your truck bed. These are going to be a custom fit. They're gonna work for your 2006 through 2014 Ford F-150 with the 6 1/2 foot bed.
Now it is important to note that these are not gonna be compatible with trucks that have boards or steps underneath the truck bed. And they will also not work for trucks that use a TorkLift hitch because they are going to use those same mounting holes as those additional components. So you won't be able to use these if you have those installed already. But these are a frame-mounted design so they are going to sit right up against your truck's frame. You're not gonna lose any ground clearance.
And by securing to the truck's base instead of to your truck bed, it's gonna better distribute the weight of your campers and keep the setup from being too top-heavy, so it is going to give you excellent handling. They do include very detailed instructions as well as the mounting hardware that you're gonna need to get these installed. One of the really nice things about this design is that when you're not using them, you've got these inserts that can be removed and this is going to stay up near your frame, so it's gonna be virtually undetectable when you're not using it. It's not gonna take away from the look of your truck like some of the other systems that have tabs that sit in-between your bed and your cab that are mounted there permanently and kind of have a little bit of an unsightly look. These are going to be hidden there by your frame and then when you're ready to use them, just simply slide the insert in.
They include the pin that you can get those holes lined up, put the pin through and that will secure it in place. I do wanna point out that there are two pin holes here, so depending on the width of your camper, and will determine which one you'll need to use. If you've got a wider camper, you've got that first hole, or if your camper is a little more narrow, then you can use that second hole there, put that pin through and it's secured in place. These are constructed of a powder coated steel so they are gonna be very durable for you. This kit is made here in the U.S.A., so you can trust it is gonna be good quality materials and workmanship, and it does come with a lifetime warranty.
So if you we're to have any issues with it, you're more than welcome to reach out to us here at etrailer.com. But really, I don't think you're gonna have any problems. I think this is gonna be a great way of securing your truck bed camper to your truck and then having that convenience of being able to take those out when you're not taking your camper down the road and having that hidden look. So that concludes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.

It definitely is safe the way you have them, Paul! In a perfect world, the turn buckles would be perfect vertical, but this an imperfect world and not all campers have the attachment points in the same place. If you take a look at some of the installed pictures on the TorkLift Locking FastGun Turnbuckles # TLS9529-2-LK page, you can see most of them are at an angle. It's perfectly normal. Are you running any suspension enhancement on your Silverado?

Install looks great, Megan! Especially for it only taking two hours! They were moving. : ) Happy we confirmed what you found as well. Tie downs can be a pain in the rear with all the options out there. Now I do have to ask though, have you guys thought about any kind of suspension enhancement for the rear axle? It's a little hard to tell, but it looks like the back is sagging a bit in your last picture.

A year later and I would not do anything different. Absolutely the best system available especially paired with the fast guns. The camper is solid mounted and does not move. Yet can still be off loaded in just a few minutes. Remember good stuff isn’t cheap and cheap stuff isn’t good.
