A Safe Ride is a Comfortable Ride

If you're looking for the best tie-downs for your camper, frame-mounted is the way to go. The frame is the most solid part of your entire vehicle, so it just makes sense to attach your camper to something that's not going to warp, bend, or twist. Even more importantly, the camper's center of gravity will sit lower and its weight will be spread across the entire bed. This avoids a top-heavy load perched on top of your bed rails that's liable to sway and get pushed around by crosswinds. The camper's not going to shift or slide around while you drive; it's going to stay put, and your truck is going to handle just like it does without a camper.

Quick Tip: If you have a plastic or spray-in bed liner, it's important that you use a rubber mat under the camper to eliminate any sliding or bouncing.

Don't Ruin Your Truck's Looks

how will tork lift tie downs look on my truck

Frame-mounted tie-downs are also a great pick for preserving your truck's good looks. The brackets install on the frame, tucked nearly flush with the underside of the vehicle. Remove the arms from the brackets when you're not hauling your camper, and the brackets will be barely visible.

Custom Fit, No-Drill Installation

Completely custom to your vehicle, the tie-downs attach to exisiting holes in your frame so that there's little to no drilling and no need for any modifications. Because they're custom, you'll want to use our in-house application guide to make sure you get the exact right model. The tie-downs you need might be different depending on what type of hitch or other accessories you have.

Securing Your Camper

TorkLift Tie Down Example

Once the tie-downs are installed, use a set of turnbuckles (sold separately) to secure the camper to the tie-downs. The shank on each arm has 2 pin holes so you can choose how far out they extend, that way the turnbuckles can reach the anchors on your camper without making contact with your truck. Tighten the turnbuckles to the correct level of tension (not too tight!).

where to put camper tie downs

Make sure the anchor points are offset from the tie-downs instead of lined up with them so that they will hold your camper from multiple angles. This is important for keeping your camper from shifting. Two holes in the attachment plate of the tie-downs let you find the best angle for you camper anchors.

  • Wiring to Add Trailer Connector to 2014 Ram 2500 Truck Bed
Hey Matt! What you're looking for is 5th Wheel/Gooseneck wiring. The Curt # C56070 plugs in-line with the back of your factory 7-way allowing you to run a separate 7-way connector up to the truck bed. Are you looking for tie-downs as well? I noticed you were looking at the # TL29DR. If you can tell me your bed length, if you have running boards (none, cab length, full length), and the type of hitch you have I would be happy to help you find the right parts. Just let me know in the comments...

  • Can Only Frame Bracket Of Tork-Lift Tie Downs TL29DR Be Bought?
Hey Ks, Torklift only sells their tie-downs as a kit with new mounting hardware and everything. So for your 2017 Ram 2500 you'd need the kit # TL29DR you were looking at. What kind of truck bed camper do you have?

  • Will TorkLift Tie-Downs Fit a 2017 Ram 2500 with RamBoxes
Thanks for reaching out, Austin! Yes, the TorkLift Tie Downs # TL29DR will fit just fine on your 2017 Ram 2500 with the RamBox kit. The issue you might run into is making sure the camper is able to fit your truck bed since it's narrower than normal. Be sure to also pick up some turnbuckles like the TorkLift Locking FastGun Turnbuckles # TLS9529-2-LK so it's easier to secure the camper to the tie-downs.

Hey Garrett, yes the Torklift Camper Tie Downs part # TL29DR that you referenced does fit your 2015 Ram 2500 short bed MegaCab. Do you have turnbuckles picked out already as well? What kind of camper do you have?

  • TorkLift Tie Downs for 2018 Ram 2500 With No Running Boards
Hey Jerry! The # TL29DR uses the tie-downs designed for models with running boards. Since you do not have running boards on your Ram 2500 you need the TorkLift Tie Downs - Custom Frame Mount - Front and Rear # TL37ZV. You will also need turnbuckles like the TorkLift Locking FastGun # TLS9529-2-LK to complete your setup. What kind of camper are you hauling?

  • Correct Tie-Downs for 2018 Ram 3500 Dually With Cab Length Running Boards
Hey Joshua! Does your 2018 Ram 3500 have the 8' bed? I'm guessing it does but short bed models are out there as well. Assuming that is correct, and you have the factory hitch, the TorkLift Tie Downs # TL29DR are the correct fit for your truck. If you have a different bed length let me know in the comments below. Since this is a dually you may also need the TorkLift Camper Anchor Relocation Kit # TLA7004. Measure from the front of your camper slide in point to the rear anchor point. If...
