Features to know about

Confident Lane Changes

Everyone's had that split second of panic when you're about to change lanes when a car or motorcycle suddenly appears in your blind spot. If your vehicle didn't come with a factory blind spot system, those moments are all too familiar. With radar sensors watching your blind spots, you'll get the kind of warning you wish your car had from day one. The system alerts you the instant another vehicle sneaks up beside you, so you can make lane changes safely.

Cross-Traffic Alerts When Backing Out

You come back to your vehicle after a long day, but now it's squeezed between two trucks. Then, you're halfway out of your space and you can't see what's coming. This system buzzes to warn you about cross-traffic approaching before you even spot it in your mirrors. That early heads-up lets you pause and avoid a close call, so you can back out with confidence every time.

Can't-Miss Visual and Audible Warnings

There's no guesswork here. The instant another vehicle hits your blind spot, an LED lights up in your line of sight. And if you signal for a lane change when it's not safe, and you'll get a buzzer that cuts through the noise. These alerts are quick, unmistakable, and designed to keep your attention on the road.

Custom Installation

This system is designed for vehicles with plastic rear bumpers. The radar sensors mount discreetly behind the bumper, and the LED indicators and buzzer are placed inside your cabin. Installation requires drilling, wiring, and system calibration for the system to work accurately. If you're not comfortable with this process, a professional installation is recommended.

Video Transcript for Review of Brandmotion Blind Spot Detection - Blind Spot Monitoring System - BM78YR

Hi, everyone. Steve here with etrailer.com. Today, we're looking at our Brandmotion Radar Blind Spot Monitoring System for passenger vehicles. That's right, folks. So this is a great option if you wanna be alerted about passing vehicles in your blind spot. So it is gonna integrate seamlessly into your vehicle.

You're gonna have the main wiring harness, 21 foot, with two six and a half foot rear sensor harnesses as well. These are your main sensors here. (sensors thudding) These two guys here are called your HMI. These are gonna illuminate and let you know, depending on left and right-hand side in your A-pillar, whenever they're installed, where that vehicle is coming from, left or right, and those kind of things. And you have an audible buzzer here.

It's got a high, low, and off button, here on the front. It's kind of hard to see there, but it just slides left to right and center. You're gonna get the two brackets for mounting the modules, of course, your screws, cable ties, and you have a sensor angle ruler here for mounting the left and right. And that's all described in the instructions as far as how to use this guy whenever you're installing it. So make sure you don't throw that away when you open it up.

Now, again, this can adjust, as far as the audible buzzer, high or low. And this is gonna be great, again, for illuminating and also beeping to let you know when you're being passed, left or right hand-side, and even whenever you're doing reverse cross-traction functionality, will immediately activate in reverse. So it has a high accuracy. These sensors can detect moving objects of all sizes and they have smart technology inside of them, inside the processor inside of them, and that's gonna minimize false triggers. Now, this does use radar to determine the vehicle speed.

And the blind spot monitoring works at speeds over 18 miles per hour. So folks, this, again, is equipped with lane change assist and blind spot detection when you have it installed. If you have questions about this product, or any of the products here at etrailer.com, reach out to us. We'll be more than happy to assist you. I'm Steven. Stay safe while you're towing.

  • What Brandmotion Radar Blind Spot Monitoring System Will Work with My Metal Bumper?
Hello Dan, I’m really sorry, but the Brandmotion Radar Blind Spot Monitoring System for Passenger Vehicles # BM78YR won’t work properly on your 2019 GMC 2500 if it has metal bumpers. This system is designed specifically for vehicles with plastic rear fascia because the radar sensors need to “see” through non-metal materials. Metal bumpers block or distort the radar signals, which prevents the sensors from accurately detecting vehicles in your blind spots or cross-traffic when backing up. Instead,...

  • Will the Brandmotion Radar Blind Spot Monitoring System Work if I Have a Metal Bumper
That's a really great question, Dan. The kit that you were originally looking at, part # BM78YR, will not work if you have metal bumpers. Brandmotion does have an option for you though! You will want to get part # BM88YR instead. I double checked with the manufacturer and they let me know that this will work with metal bumpers.
