Today we're going to be taking a look at the Slime tube sealant in an 8 ounce bottle. The Slime tube sealant is going to instantly and repeatedly repair the tread area puncture up to a puncture size of an eighth of an inch. It's going to use fiber seal technology, this means that there are micro fibers in the formula that are carried by the escaping air to the puncture area. At that point they're going to build up and that's going to be what forms a plug that's going to stop air loss. This is designed to seal multiple punctures repeatedly and instantly. It's going to be great or bicycles, scooters and dirt bikes.
It's non-flammable and non-toxic design makes it safer for you and for the environment. It's also non-corrosive, non-flammable, non-aerosol and it's water soluble. It is safe for finished metal wheels and can easily be cleaned up with water. Located directly on the label that's attached to the bottle is going to be your installation instructions. It's also going to show how much Slime to use depending on your application. Now when installing the Slime you will need to remove the valve core.
They provide a tool located at the cap. This simply just comes off, this is going to be your valve core remover so you can use this to remove that valve core and then you'll want to allow the tire to fully deflate and then remove the puncture object if possible. It's also going to come with a hose that is going to attach from the bottle to where that valve core was so you would attach the hose and then simply just squeeze in the Slime. Then you would need to replace the valve core, inflate the tire and then spin the tire to distribute the sealant and at that point you should be good to go. This is made in the USA and product performance is guaranteed for 2 years. Please keep in mind that Slime is a temporary repair when used in passenger vehicles and it will not seal punctures outside the tread area.
That's going to do it for today's look at the Slime tube sealant, 8 ounce bottle.
I was skeptical about this product but I decided to try it anyway. One day later and the bike tire is still holding air so it appears to work as advertised. The one thing I would change is the strength of tool used to remove the valve from the valve stem. It broke when I was putting the valve back in the stem. Luckily it was tight enough. Reinforcing it with some metal would be beneficial.
