Hey everyone, I'm Evangeline right here at etrailer, and today we are taking a look at the Swagman Pressure Preset tools. Now we have two different tools here that work the same way. These use a CO2 canister to fill up your tires. So rather than using a bike pump which may be bulky large, and you might not just carry it for all of your trips, this is going to be a quick and easy refill. Now I personally, I have a bike pump in my car, and I use that to fill up my tires whenever there may be a leak, and I also have a little patch kit. Now that's usually sufficient most of the time, but sometimes things happen.

Maybe you're on the trail and you get a puncture in your tire and you're still two miles away from the trail head. Or maybe you're in a race and you need a quick and easy way to fill up your tire so you can get back on the road again. And that's where the CO2 cartridges and these tools come in handy. So we have two tools here where the only difference is going to be that bottom piece. So one is just gonna work with your CO2 canister and fills up where your valve is; The other has a needle on it and has tire plugs included.

And this is gonna be ideal if you have tubeless tires and you need to make a patch. But for reference, if you did need to stab the puncture in your tubeless tire, this is a quick overview of how that would work. So you would get your tool, you would attach one of these tire plugs to it, so this kind of snaps into place. And then see how there's that large eye hole there Well, that's going to be for one of these bacon strips. So you would go ahead and grab a bacon strip, which is what they call these patch strips.

You would fit it on through, and then this is what you would then fit into your tire puncture. So then when you attach your CO2 canister, this would stay in place and seal the hole in your bike tire. What makes this tool unique, though, compared to others that use CO2 cartridges is that you can actually adjust the PSI to your preference. For example, this road bike tire has a much higher PSI required or maximum. I mean you can always find that maximum on your sidewall and you can either use PSI or the bar side, whichever is your preference.

You just rotate the knob until it lines up right on the line where you need it to be. This can also be used to deflate your tires to your preset pressure. And here I have it maxed out to very flat. So now that our tires on our mountain bike are flat, we're gonna go back and set our tool to the required PSI right there. Looks good. And then we're going to attach our cartridge. Now, before you attach your cartridge, make sure that you have set your valve to close. That's gonna be the one with a plus and the minus sign. I also put our cover included with our tool on our cartridge here simply because it's gonna get cold. And then we're gonna go over to the threaded portion that has a pin, and we're going to thread our cartridge onto our tool until the pin punctures. (workers chatting faintly) Unscrew the valve until it's in the top position, and that's gonna be fully open. Fit your tool over that valve, and once that has fit, and I've felt it seat, we can now slowly turn this knob to slowly open. Now you wanna do this slowly, no more than a quarter of a turn at a time so that you can get a smooth flow. (tool squeaks) There we go. Now we're inflating. Now, once we've reached the pressure I have set, the air will then go out through a pressure relief valve on the other side. (tire hisses) Staff Member Okay. (indistinct) And that there feels good. So I'm gonna go ahead and close that other valve here. You can hear the air pressure die down. I'm gonna take this off, and then tighten down our tire valve. It's a really good thing that they included the sleeve for the CO2 canister 'cause you can see that the whole tool is now frosted over. Now, this feels totally fine here on the sleeve. The tool is a bit cold, but it all worked. As we're carrying these all around, your Pressure Preset with the tire plugs has its own box. The one without the tire plugs does not have its own box but does have this sleeve. And another benefit to the sleeve is that if you are carrying your CO2 cartridge around, then having this on there prevents it from rolling around, clanking against all your other items, especially if you're carrying it in a small pouch. Or one of my friends, when he has it on his road bike, he has his spare tube wrapped up where his frame is when he has another pouch there too. So wherever you are storing your small items during your ride, you have these different options for preventing clanking around. That's gonna be it for how you use your Swagman CO2 Pressure Preset, and super handy tool to keep in your pack, especially for those longer rides, especially when you're in an area where if you do get a punctured tire, it might take a while to get back home.
