etrailer customized the RM-048-10 by lengthening the shaft so that it would fit through the bumper of our Class C RV and be strong enough to support the Stowaway 2 Cargo Carrier. It works beautifully! During travel there is some left to right wiggle that occurs with the carrier. We solved this problem with ratchet straps to secure both sides of the carrier. The hitch is stout and strong, and does the job! Of course we strengthened it with the clamps, so the hitch is solid and unmovable. With the custom hitch, the Stowaway 2 carrier is lifted enough so that it doesn't bottom out when traveling up or down steep hills. etrailer staff are very easy to work with, along with the brilliant engineers who communicated well with the exact details of the design to assure the build worked safely. It is an excellent hitch; worth the value. We're on the road again with all of our lawn chairs/tables, etc. in the cargo carrier out of the elements, instead of inside the RV. Great work, etrailer! Second time in a row that ordering from etrailer saved me money over the manufacturer. At the time of ordering these bars Yakima’s site was charging $39 for them, etrailer was $29 and with free, (over $99 since I bought 4) fast shipping. I would advise anyone to do your comparative shopping with etrailer, same brand name just cheaper.

Purchased this unit only after my original adapter bar (from Swagman) was on back order. I called eTrailer after not seeing any activity from my order in 2 days. That's when I was made aware that it was not available for another couple of weeks. Not a big deal but would have liked to be notified sooner and not have the rest of my order delayed because of the adapter bar. The unit is well built, heavy duty and very sturdy. Locking arms lock in place with a click to let you know they're locked. Doesn't fit my wife's bike that well (a bit long) but I've gotten it to work. Used it over the weekend on a 4hr trip and looked and performed great. Thanks eTrailer

Once again, Etrailer had just what I was looking for. This 6 inch lowering hitch allows my electric bike carrier to be lowered by 6 inches so that I do not have to lift so high to load the bikes. The extension also allows me to open the tailgate even with the bikes loaded.

Easy to install and works perfectly for our RV. Our Class C sits lower than our Jeep. This adapter puts us in the sweet spot for flat towing. Solid construction and I'm not worried about it at all.

Want to thank Jaime and all of etrailer for there quick response and shipping. On the way from Illinois to Disney World at our last overnight someone pulled a pin on my Roadmaster tow unit and as we were entering the highway half the unit came unhooked and bent the crossbar. Wife had to drive 5 hour by herself but now with etrailers help I have the new crossbar that was shipped to Fort Wilderness and we are set to continue on our way for the rest of our trip.

Have a custom roof rack with 1-1/8” round cross bars. The Yakima fairing fits great! Virtually eliminated the wind noise. Quality product and worth the money. Great customer service. Order was shipped promptly.

Worked great on my Subaru. The original item was lost in shipment, but the customer service folks took quick action to send me another. It arrived promptly. It was very easy to install and has drastically cut down on the wind noise from my roof rack (I had the round bars).

I am 72, and I hook up this toad and pull it with confidence. The instructions to hook up the toad was presented with ease. They knew exactly what they were doing, and we didn't rush through the demonstration. I would recommend eTrailer to anyone.

This strap is easy to use and I appreciate the peace of mind I have while driving knowing there is extra support of my hitch mounted bike rack. The Velcro fastener makes it easy to bundle the strap’s “tail” so it doesn’t drag while driving.

The quality of the hitch is excellent. The shipping was prompt and close to on time (snow and ice storm delayed delivery). Only drawback was the location of the pin holes. It seems to be closer to the receiver than I would like. This leaves a lot of wobble in the bike rack. However, this is remedied with the use of the Curt Cam buckle strap I also purchased that same the time.

These lock cores worked perfectly for my Yakima kayak rack. I can use the same key for all the locks and I feel much more secure knowing that someone can't steal my expensive rooftop car rack. So, 5 stars!

Simple instructions, easy install, much more service than lockless. I only wish you can request a specific key code like you can on the single cylinders. It would be nice to have my Toploader keyed to the same lock.

Great Bike rack. I've used it now for two months both on my truck and the 5th wheel. Very sturdy and safe. Easy to assemble, hook up and load. One small glitch; my 5th wheel has a window in back and the handlebar came close to the window causing concern of window damage, but my wife found a piece of round foam that works great to help this. (see pic) Glad I researched and got this one. Frame adapter bar works simply for step-through bike too.

This bar works great. Use it on the Townie Electra while on the Swagman Dispatch bike rack behind the camper.

I have to start by confessing that I pulled a real dumb mistake, not taking the cord out of my RV and then not securing it when I drove for 30 miles. The small end dragged for most of that and you can see the result. Amazingly it still worked and I secured it with electrical tape for the final leg of my journey. Then I started looking at repair for the damaged end. NOTHING could compare to how the original is made. A repair would not be watertight, had the potential for crimping or wearing of the wires at the end of the new female plug, and cheaper imitations are made from lighter wire and are not watertight. I ultimately decided to buy another Blue Ox connector and will repair the old one to have as a spare. There is no substitute for the quality of this item. Bonus was that it delivered from etrailer 2 days sooner than expected!

The tail lights on my towed vehicle (particularly the left turn signal and brake light) were intermittent. I initially checked all the wiring at both ends of the cable and they all looked good. So, I replaced the cable and the connector that came with it and everything works perfectly now. Thanks for the decent pricing, good customer service, and relatively quick delivery.

These are real heavy duty adjusters. Unless you have 12 to maybe 14 inch wheels, go with the 16-20 inch size. I installed them on a 16 inch Dodge Dakota wheel and the rubber is very difficult to stretch across the wheel, let alone make the other three attachments.

I love the bar, it is super sturdy and works perfectly for all of our bikes given the compact frame. I did have my bike on the back of my car with the Thule rack I ordered, and unless it was just super windy that day traveling on the highway, I feel like my bike was swaying while on the bar even though I had the strap between the tires. I have used it since for short trips, but have figured out a way to use the extra strap to run it through the rack and the bike to prevent the bike from pulling away from the car while on the bar.

Bought this Thule bike adapter bar for my wife's Mango Longboard fat-tire beach cruiser. We already had the Thule 2-bike carrier, not sure what model number. The bar works fine for hanging the bike on the carrier, but we haven't traveled with it yet; it will get a 1000+ mile trial run soon. With this bar and this particular bike the bike's front wheel hangs too low to leave it on the bike. It's a quick-release style wheel, so not a big deal to remove, but the wheel takes up extra space inside the vehicle. I don't like that the weight of the bike is being held by the handle bar post and the seat, but that's just the nature of these adapters and there is really no other way to put this type of bike on this type of carrier without it. The bar is rated for 50 lbs. and the bike weighs 37 lbs., including the front wheel, so I expect this bar to work fine for us.

I needed help figuring out which adapters I needed , after chatting and talking with Bay, she and the Sterling officials decided I needed the RM-031-5 adapters. Once again they were correct, they fit and work perfectly to hook up my older Sterling tow bar to my Jeep with a Blue-ox style base plate. A little odd to put together initially, but the videos were very helpful. I used this for a Fiat 500 TOAD and drove over 8,000 miles last year. It worked great and protected the Fiat.

I bought this one year ago to protect my 2017 Honda Civic (manual trans) as we towed it behind our small motorhome. We ised it as we made our annual snowbird migration to and from the Northeast to Florida, and multiple trips this spring and summer. The KarGard shield worked as expected and our car remained much cleaner and paint chip free as a result. Yes, it takes a little extra time to install and remove but in my opinion the results are well worth it.

We purchased the Hang Out to expand our biking options while camping. Several years ago we purchased a Jack-It Aero carrier from e-Trailer to carry bikes on our TAG. It's a great option for transporting bikes T/F camp ground. But what do you do if the bike trails are a distance from where you’re camping? Enter the Hang Out. It takes up minimum space, mounts quickly to the Jeep and off we go. Bonus: We jettisoned a bulky, expensive hitch-mounted carrier and use the Hang Out for local bike excursions.
