Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System
Despite reading about the popularity in using Timbren’s for suspension modifications to assist in ride quality when loading up the Odyssey, I haven’t found many reviews about the Timbren’s for 4th gen Odyssey though there are a ton of positive reviews for the 5th gen Odyssey on the forums and internet. I went with Timbren’s due to the “set it and forget it” lack of maintenance. I do notice a more stable ride even unloaded at highway speeds. There’s less sway in on/off-ramps and big sweepers. Not a huge change, but warmly noticeable. About the same quality of change one might experience from buying a brand new set of tires vs. not dangerously worn down tread. Where it really shines is under load/heavy cargo. Before Pic (unloaded mulch); After Pic (loaded) - definitely not as much squat as with the prior OEM bump stops! Comfortable ride with less jostling/sway and haven’t bottomed out the springs over rough road. I’m impressed! Install was fairly easy, about 45 min per side taking my time, cleaning removed parts. One year later, I haven’t had any issues, and I feel very comfortable loading the minivan with all our gear/stuff. I do not tow.
Great product Greatly Improved the ride and control while towing trailers with my 2008 Honda Pilot

got them on in about 30 minutes, just wanted to keep the front end down while pulling the boat. I think this was a great anwser for that. Plus easier on the springs and shocks. Thanks again guys.
I did not notice much/any improvement in ride. I went on to install adjustable shocks, then a Shocker hitch, and finally a ProPride hitch.

Let me save you some busted knuckles. If you’re doing this yourself do this setup. I staged the photo so the bumper is already out. Have one floor jack holding the vehicle. The other pushing up on a pry bar. I used a heavy flat head. The passenger side has the exhaust in the way. This method worked out great. If you don’t have 2 floor jacks then here is your reason to buy them!
Great product definitely works, I do alot of driving with family and van filled to the gills from Cistco,Bj's etc. Never had issues with suspension sagging like before. Awesome product, and would recommend to anyone who owns an Honda Odyssey...

Timbren Front or Rear Suspension Enhancement System
I had these installed on my 2013 Jeep Wrangler prior to installing a plow. These fill the gap that would allow the front end to dip when the plow is lifted. I also had them in my 2004 Chevy, they stabilize the front end when the heavy load is added.
The package arrived in only a few days, sooner than I had expected. I was impressed with Etrailer, the vendor. Opening the brown shipping box however, I was somewhat set off by seeing the Timbren SES box taped up like it went through WW3. It looked like a box that someone had opened once before and someone made an attempt to reseal it with another yard of tape. Opening the SES box confirmed my suspicions that someone had indeed attempted to install these once before and returned them as the 1 paragraph's directions were covered with greasy fingerprints . The parts looked OK so rather than wait for a second pair I just installed them. I have to say that the Timbren supplied written directions left a lot to be desired. I consider myself an above average home mechanic and I had difficulty understanding how to dissassemble the Jeeps front suspension. At the price I paid for these devices, Timbren should at least have made a better effort to create clearer directions. There was no directions on how to get the old bumpers off their perches (they are pressed in . They will only come out using some heat and a lever) , nor how to get the old cups off their perchs (there is one bolts holding each one into the perch, but bolts were so rusty I had to torch them off. I doubt the average Joe would have the knwledge, tools and determination to ge the old ones off). Don't try to do this job without using spring compressors to get the springs out. You'll never do it ! I had to google Timbren installation instructions on the internet to get peoples installation tricks off of a Jeep site. The customer who had this box before me likely gave up due to the complexity of the removal of the old units and likely sent these back to Etrailer (not Etrailer's fault).

Package had been torn open, and the box was empty except for bolts. I have cameras and they were not stolen from my house, so they must have come up missing during the delivery process
The system is working great. The only problem I had were the included bolts. They weren't threaded long enough and, therefore, couldn't be used. I had to use the old bolts and nuts to finish the installation.

The Timbren SES has worked out well when pulling my Toy Hauler, which is spec'd at 957 lbs hitch weight-I also use a weight distributing hitch. The Timbren SES keeps the truck from squatting and provides a much better driving experience than without them. They were easy to install and feel completely stock until a load is applied.
Great upgrade when pulling our 6500lb travel trailer. Helps with sag and control on the road on our Ram 1500. Change the stock shocks and if you choose, upgrade your stock springs, and you'll get the most out of your half ton.

Timbren Suspension Enhancement System - Severe Service - Rear Axle
No matter what I did it would not sit in tight I had to notch the insert so that I could get it to go all the way up inside. Other wise it would fall out. Even after notching it still gave me a hard time to get it in place.
Easy to install, fits directly into the factory mounts. We occasionally carry a truck camper on our 2014 RAM 1500 and these bump stops support the weight and make for a smoother ride than air lift suspension. When the camper isn't on the truck, the ride is as smooth as with the original factory bumpstops.
What our customers are saying:
