Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
The hitch looks good but tore through the box from shipping and has the powder coat rubbed off on the side that faces out. I had to touch up with paint . Is there anything you can do for me? I needed it so don’t want to exchange or return. Thank you
Product is ok overall but it was packaged carelessly and arrived poking out of the box. No padding or support whatsoever. Paint was scuffed off the edges from being bounced and dragged around during shipping. Additional smaller boxes were inside the main box and all had holes or were also crushed. Response from seller was that the packing worked as intended.

Hitch arrived very fast and fit perfect on my 1999 Ford Explorer...very satisfied!
The hitch and wiring harness were very quick and easy to install. The design allowed the full size spare wheel/tire to be kept in the original location. Shipped the hitch and wiring harness in the same box and it got here fast. Very happy with the purchase.

My entire experience with etrailer.com was outstanding. This Receiver was exactly as advertised and fit beautifully. The website is fantastic and easy to navigate. The customer service is superb! When the product arrived, it was packaged expertly and easy to handle. The product was great, but it is everything else that will keep me coming back for all my trailer needs. I can't recommend etrailer.com highly enough. Stop looking everywhere else because etrailer is the only site you need!!
read instructions !

Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
The fit was poor and took several hours - maybe 5hrs I think to install. Optional instructions should be mandatory instructions like ways to spread the hitch since it was around 1/4 inch too narrow. The current instructions are backwards in order. Wasted a lot of time and with contacting support. Also a big challenge to remove the 1-1/4 inch receiver bolts to replace with the bolts for the 2" receiver - then need a ton of work to remove with lube, heat, breaker bar, impact, etc. And to put in the new bolts required oil and lube.
Very easy to install it, fits perfect and made very strong. Someone really used his head when he designed it. Only one thing- bolts don’t fit they are little smaller but I used the original so all good. Thank you etrailer

Hitch and wiring harness works great on my 2015 Ford Explorer. install only took about 30 minutes. would definitely recommend purchasing from Etrailer.
This was a perfect fit for my 2012 Explorer. It looks and functions great and the price cannot be beat! eTrailer is a great company; you can tell this by the organization and details on their website. Tracking the package in transit is a breeze and items arrive on time. The hitch is solid. The moment you take it out of the box, you’ll know you got a great part. I was able to install it myself, though it would have certainly been better to have someone help hold it in position just to get a bolt started on each side. In any case, it does not take long to install. All hardware was included and directions are minimal and straightforward. You’ll need some WD-40 to get the exhaust off its hangers, a strap to support the exhaust while it’s lowered, a socket set, and a torque wrench to tighten the bolts to specs. I did not have a torque wrench that went all the way up to the required torque value, so I ended up purchasing one at the local box store. If you don’t like acquiring tools, you could always ask a neighbor or maybe rent one from the local auto parts store. In any case, with the new wrench, as well as the 4-pole wiring harness and magnetic trailer lights (also purchased from etrailer), I still came out way ahead of what it would have cost to put on a hitch at the dealer. In essence, the $450 bike rack that goes in the hitch receiver and the quality torque wrench ($80) serve as “free” gifts to the family/myself for the DYI installation. Finally, some might want a Ford OEM hitch setup but the curved design of this particular custom hitch looks great. Happy hauling!

Great customer care and service from Chris and the Etrailer employee's. Got back to me to let me know of a item was back ordered from a manufacturer, didn't try to over sell me on products, asked what I'd like to do. Helped me make changes to my purchase that I needed right away. Two days later they now have my business shopping loyalty from here on out. I can't thank you guys enough.
Fit well and I have towed several times from Stroudsburg to Baltimore (a four hour trip each way).

This hitch did not fit as delivered. The spacing between the vertical mounting ears was too narrow to embrace the vehicle's frame rails by 5/8 inch! As the original owner of my 1996 Ford Explorer, I attest to its integrity and history of no damage and no abuse. I am a professional mechanic and was comfortable with, and capable of, spreading the attaching flange, "ears" gap a bit wider to fit the car's frame rails. It was much more of a chore to install than expected. All is OK now. It was disturbing to view the fine print at the top of the instruction page, 757230, which states, " Will not fit with full size spare tire". That contradicts your web page's guidelines and applications charts.. This hitch, in fact, does accommodate the full size spare on my vehicle. The quality of constriction is good and the powdercoat finish is good The packaging was good. The hardware kit and diagrams are good. The free freight is remarkable and the two-days delivery time was astonishing!
The hitch itself is well constructed but does not fit the Explorer without modification to make it wider to fit over the framerails. I had to take it to my mechanic to be altered to fit.

I had a little trouble starting out buy the etrailer team was patience and assured me that the trailer hitch fit my 22 explorer. To be honest I found a video for the installation and it showed the the couple pulling down the plastic trim and sliding hitch up into cavity above the trim cover.
2021 Ford Explorer. Perfect fit! My concern was delivery time, spoke to Lori at etrailer, she assured me that the order would be processed and shipped in a timely manner as my hitch was “in stock”. She was right on the money. The instructions were simple and easy to follow. I installed the hitch in a parking lot with no problems. Thank you etrailer and Lori for a personalized experience as a consumer; something that is far too rare these days. HIGHLY RECOMMEND etrailer!!!

etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2"
I have purchased and installed numerous hitches from etrailer over the years for various vehicles I have had. This hitch pertains to a 2023 Ford Explorer. Ordering and shipping went well as usual, I received the hitch in a timely manner. The box it came in was practically destroyed but the hitch was not damaged. As far as installation goes it does take a bit of prep work as described in the installation instructions. Take into strong consideration that as noted in the instructions, measurements are approximate, you do have to dry fit especially due to the fact that you have to make cuts in the (2) heat shields. Definitely watch the installation video on etrailer’s website for the installation on a 2022 Ford Explorer but keep in mind things do vary. In the case of my 2023 Ford Explorer The cut dimensions in the heat shields depicted in the instructions are definitely different than the cut dimensions needed to be done in order for me to fit the hitch. For me the long cut needed to be 9”, not 5” as stated. The 1.5” cut did suffice for my installation. 1 flange nut on each of the heat shields needed to be removed and not reinstalled in order for the hitch to mount flush to the cars frame as depicted in my included pictures. Also the rear bracket that needs to be removed in order to lower the exhaust uses a 13mm bolt, not a 10mm bolt as stated in the instructional video and installation instructions. Other than those things, the hitch does seem to be of good quality the welds all looked good, it had a nice finish and I’m sure I will have no issues with it. As I said, I have installed numerous hitches so I always expect to encounter certain issues, just take your time have patience and you’ll be able to get it done. I would recommend this hitch to others.
Hitch itself is great and has held up for over 2,000 miles of towing. Installation instructions were basically good. Exception to instructions pertains to the heat shield modification, could have given slightly better details regarding cut dimensions & locations. Overall an excellent kit & components.

Hidden Hitch by Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2"
Very pleased with this hitch installed on my 2022 Lincoln Aviator. We only use the hitch for a bicycle rack so the 3500 lb. rating is not an issue and we will not need to install a trailer light system. As for the installation my advice is to look carefully at the hitch components and their installed location prior to beginning your installation. The provided installation instructions appear to be copied from a similar hitch with a fixed receiver and could result in excess removal of material and the removable receiver opening could be misaligned. This can be avoided if you measure and visualize before proceeding with the installation. My installation went very well and I am pleased with the results. Two particular things I am pleased with are the fact that when installed the receiver protrudes farther from the rear fascia than the fixed receiver model (ideal for bike rack use) and with the receiver assembly removed you cannot tell that there is a hitch installed.
Great hidden trailer hitch for my 2020 Ford Explorer at the best price I could find.

I have been dealing with etrailer for many years and have never had a problem. I just ordered a hitch for my Lincoln, and it didn't fit. I called on a Sunday and talked with Diana. Diana said there were were two different hitches for my car that year. She said no problem, she sent the correct one out that day and gave me a prepaid tag to return the wrong one, no questions asked. They are a great company that stand behind there products if there's ever a problem. Great people to buy from. Thank you Diana for the quick turn around, you folks have my vote and my business!
2013 Ford Edge Sport Pro Tip: There are two (2) carriage bolts that are longer than the other four (4). The instructions indicate to use these for the holes that you will drill though I’m not entirely sure it matters. Still, if you want to do it by the book, double check your bolts before installing. Otherwise a straightforward and easy install.

This Hitch Reciever fit my '89 Ford Ranger perfectly. Had it installed in less than 30 minutes. Heavy duty design. I've had it over a year now and it has held up great. A huge improvement from the original ball in bumper design.
Fits right. Had to cut the corner at a 45 on one of the square shim washers due to a lip on the frame rail at the spare tire. Wouldn’t sit flat. Other than that, about 30 minutes from start to finish.

Well made, well finished and heavy duty product! If you are even halfway handy, you can install this yourself. Like anything, fitting is exact.
Product was all there but arrived with shipping damage. Might want to think about how to keep the heavy items from moving in the shipping carton or protect the outside edges with cardboard or something. I'll touch up the paint but wanted to give some feedback, you guys seem pretty receptive to input. Other than that there was good communication through the whole process. Fast service. Thank you.

It came within a few days of ordering. Packaged well, no shipping damage. Installation took an hour only because I had to cut the bolts to the bumper mounted hitch that was already installed. I also had to drill two holes due to my Ranger being the older model. After that it bolted right up with no issues. All the necessary hardware to install the hitch was included. Oh, yeah, it came with instructions, but who reads those!
This is the third time we have purchased a hitch from etrailer along with other products. Every time we have purchased from them we have been very happy. We really appreciate the helpful videos that show step by step how to install the products we have purchased. We also appreciate that they care enough to follow up and see how things are going. We bought this to replace a Hidden Hitch that had been damaged due to and accident. The original had been on the truck for many year and served us well. We were glad to find this hitch and that it is exactly like the original. We like that, other than the receiver, the entire assembly hides up behind the bumper making for a very clean install. It is on a 2001 Ford Ranger with the Edge package. The truck has a full size spare and the hitch does fit well even with the full size spare. When you install the hitch removing the spare makes for a much easier install. The spare fits right back in place when you are done. The hitch has been on the truck for about a year now. The finish has held up well and it does exactly what we need it to do.

This is a nice, heavy duty hitch. Probably heavier duty than the 2011 Rav4 I put it on, but I like the 2" size reciever for the flexibility. You can always adapt down, but going up can be tricky. It was about a 20 minute install with about 40 minuets of up and down looking for a tool. Mine dod not have the bolt on muffler hanger the instructions referenced, but that was just a couple of bolts I didn't have to worry about. One trick I have learned with installing hitches on the ground by yourself is to use a jack to hold it up and in place while you start the bolts. The other is to run the bolts into the holes before you get the hitch into position. If the hole wasn't use, it ca be full of grit and road grime and it is a lot easier to deal with it before you have an 80 pound hitch hovering over you head. As always, eTrailer was a great source. I think this is the seventh hitch I have bought and installed from them over the years. I still the they need to include an "I got hitched at eTrailer" bumper sticker with every purchase, but I suppose solid service and affordable pricing is good enough.
The vertical plate on the passenger side was visibly bent, maybe from weld - hard to say. This made the holes for mounting the hitch to the car frame too tight by about an 1/8". I had to auger all 4 holes out with a Dremel cutting wheel and then repaint. This made the installation quite a bit more difficult and time consuming. The hitch is on and works fine but it didn't need to be this hard. The first image is the bent passenger's side plate (the part coming off the round tubing and running up to where the hitch bolts to the car frame). The second shows the straight driver's side plate. Two images of the resulting misaligned holes. I removed about an 1/8" of metal from the outsides of all 4 holes which juuustt barely allowed me to get all four bolts threaded. One other note: This hitch went on a 2017 Toyota Rav 4. 3 of the 4 threaded frame holes were unusable: rust and corrosion made threading the bolts impossible. I had to purchase a 12mm x 1.25 tap and clean out the threads first. The one good set of threads had a pre-existing bolt in it which kept those threads clean. The other three were open to the elements and didn't fare so well. They were fine after using the tap to clean them out.

Easy replacement for GM's rusted out 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 hitch. Attaches to bumper and vehicle frame with 6 bolts (which lined up perfectly). The original GM hitch used 8 bolts but was rated for 5,000 lbs gross trailer weight compared to the Curt#13322 hitch's 6,000 lbs. The powder coat finish on the outside of the hitch looks flawless. Hopefully the inner walls of the tube, where salt and water will collect, hold up. Curious why the access holes to the tubes are both located on the ended plates, instead of having one hole at the bottom of each tube to act as a drain.
I purchased this hitch to replace the factory receiver hitch on my 2007 GMC Sierra (new body style) that had rusted out and wasn't safe to use. This was a perfect fit and installation was easy except for holding the hitch up while starting the first bolt. Two bungee cords helped with that. The hardware worked great and the instructions were quite good. I did not need to drop the spare tire as was suggested, which did speed installation. Installation time was 30 minutes but that included three trips to the tool box and extra time spent using healthy amounts of anti-seeze. No drilling was required. Five stars.

The quality of the hitch seems very good. The finish is thick and being in Canada with salt on the roads, it should stay rust free for awhile. Mounting the hitch on my 1988 Ford Crown Vic went well. There were no holes in the frame so I had to drill all 4 holes. At the holes near the end of the frame I could not use the supplied bolts due to the way the shocks on the bumper went inside the end of the frame. All in all it was an easy install with the car on a hoist and a helping hand from my brother.
Probably would have gave five stars but I was unaware that the actual hitch itself doesn't come with a ball attached to it. You have to buy the ball separately. I thought the ball came on a hitch or at least a standard ball came on a hitch. I guess I should have looked into it a little more. It's not a big deal but now I I have to chase down a ball. Other than that, installation was straightforward and the hitch and frame seem heavy duty. The wiring harness I ordered also seems pretty heavy duty and should prevent any shorts in the system

Nice hitch, install was kind of a chore. Took about 3.5 hours messing with everything. I did have to bend one side of the hitch to make one of the bolts go in. This took some time. I get it’s probably a manufacturing/engineering thing but my suggestion would be to put some troubleshooting tips in the instructions on how to safely bend one side. Also the driver side panel cut out is incorrect. Needs to be cut farther North if you’re looking at the picture. Other than that, I’d say I’m glad I purchased and it’s a good product, just needs instructions update. I did install this hitch by myself and used jack stands to hold up both sides to make it easier.
I live on acrea I was not notified that the delivery had come until 12:30 at night had to get up out of bed in my pajamas and drive my UTV down to pick up the trailer hitch by the road the box was pretty trashed I'd get the shipper one star product itself is very well made nicely painted although there was a few scratches from the rough shipping.
What our customers are saying:
"hitch arrived on time, and it took me about 10 min to put it on . thanks alex"
