Best 2017 Nissan Frontier Bike Racks

The Swagman Bike Carrier is exactly what I was looking for! I was looking at the same item by Thule, but why pay double for just the name?!? The Swagman is well built, simple to use, and does the job well! I'd highly recommended it!

I shopped different brands for this type of p/u truck bed mount and this is the winner. Why would anyone pay double the price for a similar product with all the same features? First of, the service I received from my online order was great. Ordering was easy, I got real time update on my shipment and best of all, the company upgraded my shipping from 5-7 days to 3-5 days without any extra charge. Used this to transport mountain and road bikes on a 2012 Nissan Frontier. I no longer own the truck but I can say ....Easy to put on and take off and stays snug to the tailgate while providing great protection. Don't do what I was doing before purchasing this and lay your bikes in the bed....this is the is way to go if you don't want to purchase a big hitch mount rack.

I considered many options for bike carriers before deciding on the Softride. I have a Nissan Frontier with a short bed, which has some limitations. The Softride allows for more storage in the bed than other systems and also allows for more carrying options with protection. It was easier than I expected to install with one person. Shipping was quick and ordering uncomplicated. I expect many years of productive use from this excellent product.

First I like the ease of researching and ordering the product I chose. I am happy with the rack and how easy it is to use.

I would give your customer service 5 stars but the swagman only 3.5. The releases for the hooks that hold on the bikes are very stiff and difficult to push in. The new one you sent me is slightly better but still not great.

Love this product! I built a great bike carrying system for my F-150 using two of these fork clamps. They are easy to install and extremely well made. No more tangled bikes and lots more room in the bed for other stuff! Best way to go for a nice bike rack system. Thanks, Phil T.

Had bought three of these a year ago and placed it on a cut 2" x 4" for three bikes. All three bikes (2 MTB and 1 Road) now easily fit the 5'7" bed of my Ram 1500. No worries with the quick release and no more stress taking the whole family to the trails. So glad I got these.

I have a 2021 Toyota Tacoma and they work perfect for my downhill mountain bikes, love them. Can load and unload without ever having to climb into the back of my truck

Works as advertised - a very well designed product. Puts the bikes firmly at the side of the bed so you can use the center channel for bulky items. Very pleased with this purchase

No difficulty putting the pad on my Tacoma tailgate by myself. I have an E-bike with a larger than normal down tube but the straps on the pad were sufficient in length to get around the tube and firmly affix the bike to the pad. 1st transport was about 25 hwy. miles and all went well. Good access to tailgate handle and back up camera if needed.. Satisfied with the purchase.

Very satisfied with this product! It is plug & play out of the box, it takes 1-2 minutes to install, and it fit my Honda tailgate like a glove. The cover is lightweight yet fully protects my trucks finish. The Swagman is an excellent value.

With a little adaption the Yakima brackets mounted to my built in bed rails on my 2010 Nissan Frontier. With my truck cap this makes my bikes safe and secure, out of sight out of mind.

Have used the block head bike mounts by Yakima on trips of 800 to 1500 miles with no incident. Easy to mount the bikes and they have not released even on bumpy roads. Great product for my truck box and bikes are always in view. Easiest way I have found to transport our bikes

For the price, this bicycle carrier well exceeded my expectations. It is very easy to use and quite stable. I carry my Cannondale Adventure 3 bike on it. I actually mounted it in the bed of my Nissan pickup. I made 2 simple cross bars to attach to the cargo tie-down rails on the floor of the truck. It is very secure and can be removed and installed very quickly.

Did not fit the stock roof rack on my 2001 Nissan Frontier, although etrailer.com said it fit my vehicle. Big waste of time. They also are charging me shipping to return. Not a happy customer. I give the product a 2 star because the main frame part seemed flimsy, and would not hod up to a full size mt bike swaying around while driving off road(imo).

I was not sure this rack was right for me when I ordered it, but the Thule reputation convinced me, and I’m glad I pulled the trigger on it. This fits nicely in the bed of my truck, and secures my bike quite well. I have to drive about 25 miles via mountain roads to get to my paved trail…curvy roads with elevation changes…and I have zero worries about any calamities… For a single bike situation, it’s a great solution that keeps the bike in the bed, not on the back bumper.

Linda and I recently ordered two Aventon Pace 500 NextGen E-bikes from [bike store] in Madison, WI. Not wanting to just toss our expensive new bikes in the back of the p/u when they arrive next month we promptly ordered the Thule Instagator from etrailer. My prior experience with etrailer came as a recommendation from a friend. I was able to do quite a bit of the research on etrailers website, the demonstration video extremely helpful and we placed an order. The racks were in-stock, shipped promptly, etrailer providing a very nice tracking link that included pics of the staff involved in processing the order and a map of the route all the way to delivery. Absolutely 1st rate service. The racks showed up in perfect condition about two days after placing the order, exactly as promised. This bike rack has worked well for our family of 4. It allows us to safely and securely carry all 4 bikes through the mountains of Colorado with our Hallmark Milner truck camper. Strong and durable rack that barely moves when driving. etrailer's customer service was outstanding. The rack was initially delayed and after one phone call to check status a warehouse manager quickly solved a minor issue and got the rack shipped. etrailer was fantastic in managing this transaction with extremely limited staffing. etrailer is the first place I check for anything recreation as I've never had anything but stellar service.

Excellent rack, a year later still in great condition. No movement at hitch when driving like other racks. Love the extra bar to work on bike in parking lot. Cracked a part on the rack when backing up accidentally hit it, I called the company and they immediately sent out new part no questions asked and rack is like new. Easy to access the drop and raise bar even with bikes on .A note that with larger mountain bikes only three really fit on the four rack without adjusting handle bars. It has 7 different areas to strap bicycles down but there is definitely not room to strap 7 bikes down from what I can tell. The straps were a little tricky to feed under the tailgate and pull up at the same time with only one person. Overall it works pretty well but it appears to only have enough room for 4 MTN bikes.

Holds my bike securely in the back of my truck. Quick and easy to loosen or tighten. Recommend to anyone making their own bike rack.

These are very nice fork cleats, powdercoated steel and neatly welded. I did need to drill them to 3/8" mounting holes as my bed rail takes 3/8" hardware and these come with 5/16". Once that minor step was complete I was able to bolt them to my bed rail easily. I would recommend these over aluminum fork cleats to anyone putting together a custom bike rack.

We love this bike rack for its ease of use and solid construction. Bikes are quick and easy to load in and lock down tight. The hitch-receiver tightening system works great for a wobble-free rack and the hinge and locking lever work smooth and solid. It looks nice too.

So after much research into bike racks, I decided on pulling the plug on the Kuat Sherpa 2.0. I've looked into the Kuat NV and other brands, but they were just too much for my needs. If you've got "regular" bikes and not the heavier eBikes, then this rack is perfect. I wanted a hitch rack that was user friendly and not overly complicated. I have a mixed bag of bikes and this rack can handle them all, from mountain bikes, street bikes, and BMX bikes. I like that this rack comes with an adapter piece for 20"-24" wheels. Assembly of the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 is really a no-brainer. I think it's only 4-5 bolts really. Everything else is ready to go. The anti-rattle hitch ball mechanism is simple to use with just a twist of the dial, easy. The tilt pedal/lever is also easy to access should you need to open your hatch, a solid "click" assures it's in place. So far, loving this rack. Fit and finish is superb.
