Thule Passage Trunk Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - Hanging Style
Ordered online, it shipped the same day. Received it 3 days later. There is a little assembly, but, pretty simple. It took me less than 15 minutes to install and no tools were needed. It is adjustable to be used on many different auto types, but, the instructions were very clear about how to adjust it to fit my 2011 Ford Edge. I have used it twice so far to transport my bike. There are a couple of items that are inherent in the design, not a flaw, but, you need to be aware of them. First, you can't use rear window wipers. Second, the back-up alarm goes nuts because it registers a bike less than 6 inches behind you (I tolerate it for the few seconds it takes to back out of my driveway or out of a parking lot). Third, there is a little flexibility, it is held on with straps and clamps, not bolts, so, it bounces a little when you go over bumps or make sharp turns, however, it holds the bike fast to the frame and stays on the car. I use mine to transport my bike on short trips around town to bike trails. On a long trip I would suggest checking that the straps remain tight from time to time during the drive.
Easy install. Directions with specific car notes is great. The only issue with the bike mount was trying to adjust the rubber bike cradles to fit our two bikes. Really hard to adjust. You can twist them with strong effort, however moving them back and forth comes with high difficulty. Finally called customer support and they advised to heat it or use soap and also said the cradles may not remain in place after they are moved. IO opted for strength (which was quite a feat for an old guy like me) and twisted and pulled until the cradles were adjusted for our bikes. Tested with bikes and it worked great!

Thule Passage 3 Bike Carrier - Trunk Mount
Fits perfectly on our Lexus CT200h. Only on the old LS400, the side straps have to be fastened to the wheel arch edge, since the upper trunklid gap is to narrow for inserting the strap hooks. Mounting of two bikes is (with some routine) quickly done, and they stay safe even for longer and faster routes. For transporting three (mountain) bikes, though, the design doesn't seem big and robust enough. Nevertheless, the price-benefit-fun ratios are way better than reasonable.
I was convinced I was going to have to install a hitch, and purchase a hitch bike rack for my 2011 Ford Edge. I was searching on Google "One last time" Not only did I find one. But you had SEVERAL options! And, you didn't stop there. Even videos on how to. Who does that?! As a mom of two, who's husband works out of state, I really thank you. I received the rack last night. Dropped my 3 and 5 year olds off at day care, came home. Easy installation. Got a ride in! And a full day stuff done. I really thank all of you from the bottom of my heart.

Swagman XC2 Bike Rack for 2 bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
This rack is a very good design, easy to assemble, and great value. The assembly instructions are a bit weak but the design is simple and intuitive. Very fast shipping from etrailer. I ordered Sunday afternoon and received the product Thursday. Excellent transaction and customer service followup. I highly recommend etrailer and will return to them on future purchases.
Seems pretty easy to use bikes fit well. I will be taking on her maiden voyage next week end to long Island and some of the best roads in the country "NOT" so this should be a good test.

Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
Arrived quickly and was simple to install. Easy to fit to my bikes. Very solid and well made.
We bought the Swagman Doubletrack hitch bike rack a year ago to use with our 2013 Ford Edge. Etrailer shipped it out right away and the assembly was very straight forward. The actual use of the bike rack is very easy with 2 clamps that slide down to lock the bikes in position and 4 bungees which lock the wheels in. The rack keeps the bikes secure (even on bumpy roads) and the upright bar swings down and out of the way so we have access to the back of the Edge without removing the rack from the hitch. Just a very good solid design.

Yakima FullBack 3 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms
This is the only rack that would fit on my ford edge. I leave the anchor straps and all year around even though I bike three seasons. The rack is solid and very easy to load bikes onto.
The Yakima Y02633 worked incredibly well for 3 bikes - Worked extremely well with 2016 Lincoln MKX (Lincoln version of Ford Edge) - Very sturdy and handled the turns very well

Swagman Chinook Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
The rack shipped fast, thank you! Assembly was easy and rack looks very sturdy. I did have to disassemble and switch position of the locking arms to accommodate our bikes, but this was easy to do. I bought this rack to take our bikes to Florida for our 2 month winter break. Fits our 2015 Ford Edge great and tilt feature allows for easy access to rear cargo area. Very happy so far with the Swagman Chinook, the upcoming trip will be the true test of the rack. Thanks etrailer.com for a trouble free online shopping experience.
Still getting spacing sorted out, but so far it's a good carrier. It's stable in my Class 1 receiver and seems to keep the bike from bouncing around. I slipped an old sock over the locking arm to prevent frame rub some people have claimed. While the bike is held securely for travel to/from the trails, I can't get the locking arm to sit in the lowest point of the top tube by the seat post - the safest spot regarding anti-theft - without my bike being shifted to the extreme edge of the carrier. My solution was to get a security cable similar to this - https://www.etrailer.com/Bike-Locks/Master-Lock/72DPF.html - and padlock it to the receiver for trips where I plan to be away from the car/bike for more than a couple minutes. Why I knocked off a star: One of the supplied carriage bolts is 1/8-1/4" too short out of the box, making it impossible to thread the nut on the end with the split-lock washer in place. And perhaps I don't know my own strength, but I over-torqued one nut and snapped the bolt, sending it flying. I replaced all 4 assembly bolts and split-lock washers with some Grade 5, zinc-plated, 5/16-18 carriage bolts in sizes (1) 2", (1) 2.5", (2) 3". M8-1.25 also works.

Malone Hanger Trunk Bike Rack for 3 Bikes - Adjustable Arms
Good to great product. Is easy to secure to the back of my 2012 Mazda 5 station wagon. Mounting 3 adult sized bikes took some practice to navigate through hinged braces especially with a bike that had an unconventional frame. Requires some bungee cord traction to keep front wheels from flailing around but that is probably an issue with all bike racks?
Works great! We keep it set up to one position because it's used on my car only. I'm glad we bought the lock feature because we can just leave the rack on at the trail site. This was a great purchase. I'm impressed that you follow up on your product. I recall your staff was quite helpful in making sure I purchased the correct item for my car and set it up correctly. No recent pictures of the carrier but I do have one of myself as "happy camper" on the Fox River Trail which was doable because of the carrier purchase!!

Saris Freedom Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
Seems like a good rack for the price, especially when compared to others with the same weight rating. It was very easy to assemble, just a few bolts and that's it. I put two 62lb e-bikes on it (Ride1Up Turris) and it has minimal wobble and movement as expected. The straps that come on the center cradles were too short to go around our bike's frame and battery so I had to purchase a separate set of long straps from Saris for an additional $20. So be aware if you have an e-bike with a fat frame where you plan to use the cradle on, you might have to spend another $20 on a pair of long straps. While I waited for the straps I just used a velcro-strap and it worked fine. So far I am content with this rack overall and hope it lasts many years.. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I had to purchase additional straps to make it work.
I had to put my electric bikes into this rack, backwards, to make them fit. Not ideal, but it works. The receiving 'trays' that are intended to provide support for holding the bikes, by being placed under the bike tires, are forced to be moved to a location that is not directly under the bottom of the bike tires. While it works in this manner, it is not ideal. For the support that attaches to the diagonal bike frame, we had to remove it from the vertical rail of the rack. We reinstalled it, upside down, because that's the only way we could make it fit, or 'grab', the bike frame. Again, we made it work, but it's not ideal. We chose to keep the rack because it was so much less expensive than the Thule rack we considered buying. The bike shop owner didn't agree with us. He observed that we are putting $3000 worth of bikes on the rack and risking that investment. So far, no problems, other than the ill-fitting installation.

Yakima HangOut 3 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms
I 've just opened the box and do not qualify to give a review. What I see looks very well made, but I have concerns about the upper straps location. I have a spoiler on my 2016 Ford Edge Titanium that will not allow me to have the straps over the top. The hinge points at the top of the spoiler are my only connection point to provide strap support. The hinge point looks adequate, but the strap hook appears to be too wide to make that connection. Any suggestions before I return bike rack?
My wife and I love our bike rack and use it regularly with ease. Thank you

Yakima RidgeBack Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting
Check out my other review on the hidden hitch for a 2015 BMW 4 Series for the majority of the review, but this thing is great. Easy setup and install, does all the things it's supposed to do. Mounting and removing bikes is a snap with the included clips (big difference from some of the cheaper variants with nylon ratchet straps). Fits very snugly in my 2" receiver, and pretty solid on the highway and over bumpy roads.
This is a great bicycle rack that is well built. When I received the rack, the box was damaged from shipping and the lock keys were missing. I contacted the staff at etrailer and they were incredibly quick to provide a solution. Awesome customer service! Will gladly do business with etrailer again.

Yakima HangOut 2 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms
When I started the search for a bike rack, I was so disappointed and upset to hear that I would need to install a hitch and spend even more money to buy another bike rack for my 2016 jeep renegade. I ordered this bike rack with a little hope but got a huge surprise! Not only is it super convenient and easy to install but I can fully use my trunk and not spend a ton of money!
Very nice, works well. The only thing that was an issue was with the "Anchor" part of assembly. The straps it came with were 2-3 ft. too short. So I had to replace/substitute my cargo straps for the Yakima top straps. Other than that, I'm pretty satisfied with this item.
Fit Check: Testing Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes on a 2016 Ford Edge
Hey, everybody, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the Kuat Sherpa 2.0, here on our 2016 Ford Edge. That's gonna be an excellent way of transporting your more lightweight bikes on a nice stable platform style rack to wherever you need to go. Now, what I mean by that lightweight capacity So, we are only about 40 pounds capacity per bike on the Sherpa here, today. Which makes it excellent for, yes, transporting your carbon frame bikes as they are lightweight. And since we do have a nice little tire hold format here on our platform rack, becomes an excellent option for these guys, as you're not needing that high weight capacity.

Thule Doubletrack Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2016 Ford Edge
Today on our 2016 Ford Edge we're going to be taking a look at the Thule double track two bike platform rack, part number TH990XT. Now the way we have our bike mounted here is there's going to be three points of contact. We're going to have a frame hook right here and we're going to have a strap going over each wheel. Now the way we take these off, if we take the silver tab and we lift up and push in on the black button, feed our strap through, and we'll do the same thing on the back side. Now as we come to our frame hook here, if we push in on the gray button we can move our hook up and remove our bike. I always just like to put the straps back that way we don't have to worry about them getting damaged. Here on our frame hook it is going to make contact with the frame, but it does have a nice, soft foam coating so we don't have to worry about any scratches on our bike.
Thule Apex 4 Swing Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2016 Ford Edge
Today on our 2016 Ford Edge, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Apex swing four bike rack, part number TH9027. Now one of the really nice features of this bike rack is that we can actually move our bike rack out of the way to gain access to our back hatch without having to remove the bike itself. If we come down here to think knob, it's going to be located directly behind the mast, we loosen this knob and we come up this lever here and we pull on this lever, we're going to actually swing our bike rack out of the way and we can gain full access to our back hatch to get anything in or out that we may need. Now to put our bike back into position, simply swing the bike rack back around, lift up on this lever and we can tighten down our knob again. Now if we take a closer look at how our bike is mounted to our bike rack, we're going to have three points of contact. We're going to have two straps on our cross bar here and we're going to have one on the vertical support acting as our anti sway cradle. Now to take the bike off, simply pull on the rubber straps releasing them and our bike can come right off.
Thule Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2016 Ford Edge
Today on our 2016 Ford Edge we're going to be taking a look at the the Thule Vertex 4-bike rack, part number TH9029XT. Now the way we're going to secure our bike to our bike rack, there's going to be three points of contact. We're going to have two straps coming over the top crossbar here. Then we're going to have a rubber strap and our anti-sway cradle here. Now to take the bike off, simply pull the straps off. Once all the straps are removed, we can pull our bike right off. Now where our bike is going to meet the bike rack, it's going to have these nice grooves so it's going to have a secure grip on it as well, as the rubber-coated straps so we're not going to have to worry about any scratches or abrasions on our frame.
Today on our 2016 Ford Edge we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro 4 Bike Rack, part number TH934XTR. Now, we already have our bike on our bike rack, and the way it's going to mount is we're going to have three points of contact. Two on the top crossbar here, and one on the vertical support that's going to act as the anti-sway cradle. Now, the way that we're going to take these off, simply just pull the straps off and our bike will come right off. Now, as you can see the grooves in our cradle are going to provide a nice secure grip for our bike, and the heavy duty straps have a rubber coating on them. So we're not going to have to worry about any scratches or abrasions on our bike frame. Now with the bike out of the way I'd like to give you a few measurements.
What our customers are saying:
"Everyone that bought before me was right! I got my rack in time for my next days off and putting it together was fast too. And I'm a grandma!! Thank you for being fast and honest! You beat anyone in my town hands down!"
