Best 2015 Jeep Patriot Trailer Hitch Ball Mounts

Strong and seems to be well made and well finished. One-inch ball mounting hole. I used this for a Curt hitch mounted on a 2014 Forester and pulls a small Harbor Freight trailer. Perfect height and trailer is level. Warning - don't get their hitch pin, it does not have a hole for a cotter pin, only a weak clip that I would not trust.

I searched the internet to put a hitch on my 2016 Chevy Equinox and found an instructional video from eTrailer.com where they installed on my exact car. I decided to go with eTrailer.com because they answered all my questions and because of the video-I support businesses that go the extra mile with these videos. Shipping was quick and well tracked, however, the box was flimsy and the one end of the hitch had come out of the box side and the ball mount could have easily come out of that hole during shipping. If I were eTrailer.com I'd charge an extra couple of bucks for more sturdy boxes-people will still buy as eTrailer is a well-trusted brand and this would overcome a lot of the negative reviews you'll see on their site about this shipping issue in their own reviews :-) I installed the hitch by myself (definitely recommend help as two people holding it up to the frame makes attaching 100% easier) in about 45 minutes total (out of the box, read instructions, review video again and installation complete). All hardware went on with no issues. Great quality hitch! I also bought the lesser expensive wiring assembly because most recent equinox's come hitch ready with pre-wired assembly in the left side compartment-snap and done. Picked up a new trailer at Home Depot within days and drove 5 feet and the clacking was horrible. I had always had a welded hitch before buying a hitch that took a ball mount. I really thought something was wrong and when I searched the internet that night it turns out this is very common. However, all you need is some sort of hitch "silencing" device. The number of options will drive you mad but I went with the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch and it did the trick for much less than most of the other options. If I were eTrailer.com I'd have that as one of the RECOMMENDED add-ons and explanation why its super-worthy when customers are buying a hitch. Would have saved me the time and hassle of dealing with it later and the extra shipping charge for buying after the fact when I got free shipping for the other items the first time :-) All in all, I'm super, super happy with my hitch, wiring assembly, ball mount, ball mount locking pin and the hitch silencer. Bought this for my 2012 Jeep Patriot and it is the perfect rise for what I need it for. The 2-3/4" rise is just what you need for the Draw-Tite setup on a Patriot.

The hitch and ball mount are excellent quality. My concerns are twofold. The hitch is so heavy that I had to take it to my mechanic to have it installed. Minor cost and inconvenience, but the hitch for my previous F-150 was just as sturdy, but easy to install myself (albeit with higher ground clearance). My concern about the ball mount is that the factory told me erroneously that it could not be reversed for a drop, so I returned it. This order is for the replacement after I was finally correctly told it could be reversed and how to do that. Ball mount would have been a 3 for that reason, and overall hitch and ball mount quality a 5. So I averaged them.

I have two of these. My first I bought two years ago. I very highly recommend this Curt Class III Ballmount 2" Drop because of its price, durability and quality. I towed various class 3 loads with ease and confidence with this ballmount. It slides into the hitch and does its job without fail. It looks excellent after towing a load. etrailer's price is about as good as it gets and delivery is very speedy.

This is a great all-purpose hitch. I've used it to mount a heavy-duty bike rack and a steel T-rack to carry a canoe as well as lumber. Most recently I hauled 5 x 8 cargo trailers full of plants, then furniture for a 600-mile move. It was simple to use, problem free, very strong and sturdy. Now that I live on some acreage, I see a trailer in my future, so this will get a lot more use. I drive a 2013 Tacoma, so this is a good size hitch at a good price with sufficient capacity for my needs. I do use a key lock for the hitch as well.

Just your basic ball mount, the product is just like most 2” Hitch ball mounts, the service wasn’t very good though. Ordered on June 15th (product was in stock) took them 6 days to send it out, took another 6 days in shipping and got all the way to my post office two days before leaving on vacation (I needed it for the vacation) and the post office said “box was empty and they notified seller” etrailer sent a new one (got here a week after my vacation) in a damaged box (packaging is horrible, little bit of paper in a box with a 5 lbs ball mount) almost lost this one too. I don’t believe I’ll be using etrailer in the future (had issues before)

Wonderful product. I had the hitch installed in 10 minutes. The wiring was a little more tricky because it required running a power wire all the way to the battery. I towed my trailer from Florida to Tennessee and back. Etrailer is still wonderful to deal with as they always have been in the past. My hitch came in a couple of days. I wouldn't think of ordering from any one else.

I am an infrequent trailer user, but getting my daughter home from college was necessary in March. This drawbar fits my hitch and utility trailer well, did exactly what it is supposed to do, and was the last thing to be concerned about right then. I have a '11 Mini Countryman S with a Class II receiver from Mini Fini, (which cost twice as much as a Curt) where the hole is flush with the fake grille near the bottom of the bumper cover, so I needed the long bar to reach out past the bumper. The Curt receiver for that car hangs visible underneath the bumper (ugly), which also increases the lever arm on the receiver beam and would have needed an even taller rise. (Curt take note!) All just part of the kit to create an occasional 1 ton pickup out of my Mini, leaving the "bed" at home most of the time.

This drawbar did exactly what I was hoping for. It leveled out my trailer and took the weight off the tongue. Perfect!

Cool to follow up on your product. The multi-ball works as it should. I bought it since I didn't know if the trailer I would get would be 2" or 2 1/4. I tow a 4,000 # trailer/race car with it. It's a heavy piece to carry around, but I feel that it will last a good many years. I did make a spacer to cram into the receiver, so the hitch doesn't rattle as much. Otherwise it's great. Tim E.

We sold our small motor home and purchased a small travel trailer. This hitch provided a perfect solution to how to use our bike rack while towing the trailer. It even allows room for the pickup tailgate to be lowered without removing the bikes from the rack. The hitch is very hefty with a high weight limit - plenty for the GVW of the trailer (7,000#) plus 125# of rack and bikes.

This has been an amazing multipurpose ball mount. We purchased this to use with our Hollywood Bike Rack and also to connect onto our boat. We weren't sure if this would work, but it was awesome. It is very well built and We had to make some minor adjustments to the position of our boat on the trailer so the turning radius of the bike rack that was attached would clear the truck. This is very well made and solid.

I received my package at 11:00 AM today. By 1:45 I had the hitch bolted on and the wire harness installed and tested on my 2012 Jeep Patriot, which has some potential difficult issues to get around. I had watched the installation videos a few days ago and it helped this first time installer do it like a professional. Totally happy with both the hitch and wire harness.

Nice solid (not hollow) and WELDED hitch. Have logged about 5,000 miles this year with no problems. I had many problems with bolted on balls, welded hitches are the way to go.

All I really needed was the ball mount/hitch. The whole package was a little pricey but I figured I could use the other stuff (locking pin, hitch cover, storage case) anyway so I bought the package. The locking pin key broke after a week and I had to drill the lock out to remove it. Then I saw I could have purchased what I needed at my local auto parts store for about 1/3 what I paid for this. Definitely what I should have done. No problems with the actual ball and hitch though.

Seems to work as expected. Installs easily. I had a CURT drawbar for my other vehicle but they didn't have one in the Drop I need for my new car. I prefer the lock pin on that CURT model, it's feels heavier duty, than this so I just swapped them out.

Exactly what I needed. I bought this Mercury Mariner used and it had factory installed hitch with a 1 1/4 receiver. I needed a drawbar with a substantial drop to tow my utility trailer somewhat level. Local shops had lots of 2 inch drawbars with drops but no 1 1/4 and I was even told that they weren't made and I would have to use a 1 1/4-2 inch receiver adapter do get what I wanted. You folks had what I needed and it arrived quickly. I should have looked here first.

Very happy with this ball mount - provides just the amount of drop we required for a level tow of our GeoPro travel trailer by our RAM2500. Plus, the extra length not only allows a tighter turning radius, but also allows us to lower the truck tailgate without having to detach the trailer. Huge improvement on all accounts for us compared to our prior setup. The product is well built and I'm confident will provide us years of good use.

Your packaging it's lousy, package arrived with a receiver size hole in the end of box . Guess what the box was empty . This is the second time I have had problems with your company !

this is a great product that etrailer shipped FAST! i haul a BIG bike hauler all over the east coast and to florida and i needed a solid heavy duty ball coupler. this product is it. i have bought several items from etrailer and every time the service and product is excellent!!

Hitch is solid and install was 2 hours

Here's 2 photos of the finished product. Doesn't stick out very far which is fantastic, because it definitely would have looked bad on the back of a 2 door coupe GTP. As for installation, being a mechanic, all I had to do was remove 2 rear exhaust rubber hangers and the one right behind the fuel tank, lower the exhaust onto a set of jacks to support the weight. Then drilled 2 1/2" holes with a 90 degree drill. The coiled wires included with the parts saved me tons of time trying to get the bolts in. Overall, it was fairly simple to install. Torquing the bolts proved a little difficult. I would recommend you inform the customers that they'll need at least a 10" eye to eye reciever (I have the 11" one on mine) in order to clear the rear bumper and provide some space between the bumper and trailer tongue. As for the wiring, I cut a small slit in the rubber plug under the spare tire, ran some bulk trailer wiring up through it, under the tire, under the floor matting, to the right side of the trunk, behind the tail light. And up under the lid on the right side, is the tail light wire harness/connector. Test light confirmed which wires were hot, tapped into them and all the wires and lights are good to go. Just some extra info for the DIY'er that might be handy on the website so they won't have to search for it! Couldn't be happier with the hitch.

Well constructed solid draw bar! Very happy with it. I am using the draw bar on a 2012 Jeep Patriot to pull a small trailer. Clears the rear body nicely giving plenty of clearance, but not too much to make it look funny.....just right. This is my second buy through etrailer. They are outstanding in customer service. Very nice and helpful people. I highly recommend them!

works well brings the trailer tongue up to level. I have it on an EV so the raddle is annoying, because I just keep on forgetting to buy a anti rattler.

Used on my 1999 Dodge Intrepid's CURT 12006 Class II 1.25 in. Receiver Hitch: 350lbsTW/3500 lbs GTW. I use this Curt Class II Drawbar - 3-7/8" Rise - 11-1/4" Long - 3,500 lbs to tow a 3,500+ GTW dual axle trailer. I have used it with the trailer FULLY loaded and it performs EXCELLENT. You have to make sure the trailer is loaded correctly so as not to put too much down force on the tongue/drawbar. I was skeptical that the SOLID 1.25" bar would not take the load, but it is super strong. I chuck it in the trunk when not in use to protect passerby's shins, but it sticks out far enough clear the Intrepid's bumper, and is solid with a 2" ball (required a bushing). etrailer got it out fast at a good price! I would totally purchase this again from them.

Purchased for a Dodge Journey with vertical mount hitch. Waited 5 months to get one from Chrysler and finally gave up found this one online. Sturdy design and does what I need it to. My only complaint is there is no recessed slot for the hitch ball to screw in tightly.
