Best 2014 Audi Q7 Trailer Hitch Ball Mounts

The hitch and ball mount are excellent quality. My concerns are twofold. The hitch is so heavy that I had to take it to my mechanic to have it installed. Minor cost and inconvenience, but the hitch for my previous F-150 was just as sturdy, but easy to install myself (albeit with higher ground clearance). My concern about the ball mount is that the factory told me erroneously that it could not be reversed for a drop, so I returned it. This order is for the replacement after I was finally correctly told it could be reversed and how to do that. Ball mount would have been a 3 for that reason, and overall hitch and ball mount quality a 5. So I averaged them.

I have two of these. My first I bought two years ago. I very highly recommend this Curt Class III Ballmount 2" Drop because of its price, durability and quality. I towed various class 3 loads with ease and confidence with this ballmount. It slides into the hitch and does its job without fail. It looks excellent after towing a load. etrailer's price is about as good as it gets and delivery is very speedy.

First of all, the products you find at etrailer are not your garden variety, home depot kind of fair. Much higher quality and grade/weight ratings. So to be able to get hard to find items and then by orderring at least 100$ worth of stuff also get it delivered free in 4 days, is awesome. The prices are incredible too.

My 2018 F350 chassis cab has a Knapheide service body with a Buyers hitch installed by Knapheide. It is bolted and welded in place. Unfortunately, it only has a 2" receiver. To have them change to the 2.5" receiver hitch would cost me approximately $1200. The 20,000 lb. Curt replacement hitch would not work on this truck with this bed. The Buyer's hitch has a weight rating of 16,000 lbs. and 1600 lb. tongue weight. Fortunately, Curt has come through again for me with this ball mount. I bought two: one for my 2" ball and one for my 2-5/16" ball. They are great and the drop is very close to what would be perfect. Your towing set-up is only as strong as your weakest link and I now know the the ball mount is definitely not my weakest link. One note to Curt: When you put the stickers on your ball mounts, make sure they're clean. Before I even towed, the thick Curt sticker on both ball mounts started coming off. It feels like there is some kind of coating possibly on the mount and then the decals were applied. I tried pressing them both back on but I doubt they'll last the rest of the week. But as always, Curt has built me a great product for my needs. I'm a one man landscaper business but have spent quite a bit on Curt hitch products because they WORK.

Great solid forged Ball mount!

Very happy with this ball mount - provides just the amount of drop we required for a level tow of our GeoPro travel trailer by our RAM2500. Plus, the extra length not only allows a tighter turning radius, but also allows us to lower the truck tailgate without having to detach the trailer. Huge improvement on all accounts for us compared to our prior setup. The product is well built and I'm confident will provide us years of good use.

Purchased this hitch as a companion for our Reese anti sway control. The small ball for the Reese sway control fits in the bracket and the 2” drop on the hitch is exactly what we needed to have our Jayco camper level when towing.

This is a great all-purpose hitch. I've used it to mount a heavy-duty bike rack and a steel T-rack to carry a canoe as well as lumber. Most recently I hauled 5 x 8 cargo trailers full of plants, then furniture for a 600-mile move. It was simple to use, problem free, very strong and sturdy. Now that I live on some acreage, I see a trailer in my future, so this will get a lot more use. I drive a 2013 Tacoma, so this is a good size hitch at a good price with sufficient capacity for my needs. I do use a key lock for the hitch as well.

I actually got my hitch the date they said it would be here to my surprise. When the box arrived it was pretty much beat up, not the hitch just the box. I wished there was instructions how to install it. Overall very satisfied and will buy from 5hem again

Let the packing/shipping department know they should've used a bigger box and packed it differently? Kinda disappointed as this isn't the first time stuff has been battle-scarred before I get it. Considering my next steps.

So far, so good with the adjustable hitch and ball mount after two very short trips with different size trailers. Adjustments are super easy. I haven’t used the locking hutch pin yet, so I can’t comment on that item. But I would recommend the adjustable hitch.

I move lots of small and medium sized trailers and I never know what it will be when I arrive at the job. Pull the cross pin and rotate the ball to 2" or 1-7/8" without having move the vehicle. This really is a great piece of kit!

Solid piece made in USA. Haven’t towed with it yet. Great phone service. Quick shipping. Impressed by how well the drop hitch arrived, many times small dense items don’t fair well in transit. Due to double box plus great heavy box and extra attachments to the box this arrived great. Clearly etrailer has this down.

Was needing a 7-8 inch ride for my camper that could sustain a GVW of at least 5000 lbs. Let me say, it’s a hard to find item. Thankfully I called Etraer and with some research, found me the perfect ball mount. It’s heavy duty for a reasonable price.

good heavy duty hitch

Very Strong ball mount. My wive (its her truck), towed 7000# of horse, tack and trailer last saturday. I know this ball mount is overkill but it is easier than using a 2" with the receiver adapter. Also this way if we have to tow something real heavy we already have the ball mount for it.

I purchased Curt's 6" drop ball mount for my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport which is not lifted but has 32" tall tires. The utility trailer I plan to purchase recommends a 12" tongue/ball height for level towing. The Curt 6" drop ball mount places my tongue/ball height at 13.5" which is acceptable. The bottom of my tow ball mounting nut is now 12" above the road surface. Plenty of clearance for safe towing. I'm very pleased with the quality and functionality of my Curt ball mount. I'm looking forward to purchasing a utility trailer soon. I think it will tow very nicely using my Curt 6" drop ball hitch.

Strong and seems to be well made and well finished. One-inch ball mounting hole. I used this for a Curt hitch mounted on a 2014 Forester and pulls a small Harbor Freight trailer. Perfect height and trailer is level. Warning - don't get their hitch pin, it does not have a hole for a cotter pin, only a weak clip that I would not trust.

I searched the internet to put a hitch on my 2016 Chevy Equinox and found an instructional video from eTrailer.com where they installed on my exact car. I decided to go with eTrailer.com because they answered all my questions and because of the video-I support businesses that go the extra mile with these videos. Shipping was quick and well tracked, however, the box was flimsy and the one end of the hitch had come out of the box side and the ball mount could have easily come out of that hole during shipping. If I were eTrailer.com I'd charge an extra couple of bucks for more sturdy boxes-people will still buy as eTrailer is a well-trusted brand and this would overcome a lot of the negative reviews you'll see on their site about this shipping issue in their own reviews :-) I installed the hitch by myself (definitely recommend help as two people holding it up to the frame makes attaching 100% easier) in about 45 minutes total (out of the box, read instructions, review video again and installation complete). All hardware went on with no issues. Great quality hitch! I also bought the lesser expensive wiring assembly because most recent equinox's come hitch ready with pre-wired assembly in the left side compartment-snap and done. Picked up a new trailer at Home Depot within days and drove 5 feet and the clacking was horrible. I had always had a welded hitch before buying a hitch that took a ball mount. I really thought something was wrong and when I searched the internet that night it turns out this is very common. However, all you need is some sort of hitch "silencing" device. The number of options will drive you mad but I went with the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch and it did the trick for much less than most of the other options. If I were eTrailer.com I'd have that as one of the RECOMMENDED add-ons and explanation why its super-worthy when customers are buying a hitch. Would have saved me the time and hassle of dealing with it later and the extra shipping charge for buying after the fact when I got free shipping for the other items the first time :-) All in all, I'm super, super happy with my hitch, wiring assembly, ball mount, ball mount locking pin and the hitch silencer. After one year I'd love hitch. Exactly what I needed some pool might load level. Very strong in the powder coating is actually holding up for a change.

Received the Class II Drawbar 5-1/2" Rise or 6" Drop - BM96 in a timely manner. The rise was what I was looking for to use with my Polaris ATV 570 since its standard receiver is 1-1\4 hitch and sits low to the ground. This was just the right height to pull my john boat behind the ATV.

Needed a longer unit to accept a bike carrier.

I have a truck with a class 5 hitch. Using the 2" to 2 1/2" adapter had a lot of play in it and this ball mount removed that play. The truck and me won't bounce around so much. Thanks for the great deal and fast shipping. Will be shopping with you again. Thanks again.

My usage of your hitch is a bit unusual, I think. I pull a two ton roller with my Ram and I've used your cushioned hitch to smooth out the process. The roller Lunette just dropped over a 2" ball and then banged and jerked on the ball neck. Check out the photos for my adaptation.. I can flip it over and use the 2" ball! Have enclosed some photos. The cushion is holding up very well and it takes a beating!! Thanks

We have a Pink Tractor (google Mom's Pink Tractor) that we pull to events, mainly in Ks, Ok, Mo, and Ne. We have around 35 events a year we take the tractor to to promote breast cancer awareness. The other day my wife and I were leaving for an event, i had let a friend borrow the hitch to see how he liked it. In less then a mile from the house my wife started complaining about the trailer jerking. That is coming from a lady that really was upset when I paid that much for a hitch. She told me to stop and buy one. (a long and expensive trip, we had to stop at a casino so she could rest her neck) I could write a review with a lot of trailer talk, but, this story tells the story.
