When you’re not towing, this setup keeps your vehicle looking clean. The main body stays hidden for an OE-style finish, so there’s no bulky metal showing out front. The removable arms twist out easily and leave behind a smooth, low-profile appearance that blends right in when you’re driving around town.
You don’t have to wrestle with the arms every time you connect your tow bar. The twist-lock tabs slide in, turn, and secure quickly, making setup easy whether you’re on the road or in your driveway. Each base plate has brackets spaced 31" apart with a bracket height of 17", giving you solid reference points when lining up your gear.
The Curt Custom Base Plate Kit bolts securely to the chassis—no welding required—and is constructed of welded steel for dependable strength. It’s physically tested to gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) and spreads towing forces evenly to help reduce stress on your suspension and frame. A high-gloss black powder coat finish combined with a rust-resistant liquid Bonderite coating keeps it protected trip after trip.
This base plate kit is made to handle years of towing without corrosion or loosened welds. The co-cured powder coat and A-coat protect inside and out from road grime and moisture. Backed by a limited lifetime warranty (one-year finish, one-year parts), it gives you confidence that your flat towing setup stays solid mile after mile.
You can use it with Curt or Blue Ox tow bars right out of the box, so there’s no need for special adapters. The kit comes with the base plate and installation hardware, so you have everything needed for a clean, bolt-on install that fits right the first time.

Very easy to install. Take it slow and watch E trailers video first. Pretty straightforward.
Quality pieces, but a bit challenging to install. Thankfully, the eTrailer video instructions were right on target.
These adapters work perfectly on my 2020 Ford Ranger. Everything fit without any modifications or drilling new holes. It was my first time installing this type of kit and it took less than an hour. I have towed my truck thousands of miles since installing a year ago and nothing has worked loose. The towing adapters are very easy to remove but also stay in very securely when in use.
Looks like a quality product,installation was not difficult.The only problem I had to remove some material where the belly pan touched the bottom of the base plate.

We have found the Curt custom base plate kit to be very reliable and hold up well under some tough conditions. We tow a Ford Ranger pickup behind the Tiffin Motorhome, finding the base plate as easy to connect as the day we first installed it. Thanks for a great product that works as it should and is of the quality that holds up well.

Installed the Curt Custom Base Plate Kit (#C64ER) onto my 2019 Ford Ranger XLT FX4. Could not have been easier. Directions were excellent! Time required was about 2 hours. Great product!

Working like a champ. No issues! We pulled the Ranger up and down the east coast, thru the mountains, excellent product.
Custom fit, everything went together smoothly. I'm ready to haul my Ford ranger behind my motor home.
Easy to install with typical tools found in about anyone's garage. Took maybe an hour or so to do. We have pulled our Ranger about 2000 miles behind our RV without any issue.
