If you like a setup that disappears when you’re not towing, this one is built for that. The hidden design keeps the front of your vehicle clean with no bulky brackets showing. The removable arms twist out easily, leaving only small receivers that you can cover with the included caps to keep out dirt and debris. The covers also give the base plate a finished look when unplugged, so you won’t be bumping into metal pieces when walking around up front.
The removable arms attach with a simple insert-and-twist motion, then secure with a pin—no tools or tricky alignment needed. When you’re done towing, pull the pin, twist to unlock, and lift the arms free. This system makes connecting and disconnecting fast and straightforward whether you’re at home or on the road.
This base plate bolts right to the chassis using the included mounting hardware—no welding required. The solid steel construction is powder coated to resist rust and corrosion, and the design spreads towing forces evenly across the frame to help prevent stress on the suspension. With bracket spacing of 21-1/2" and a height of 14", it’s built for dependable alignment with your tow bar setup every time.
It pairs directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a secure connection and can be used with Roadmaster or Demco tow bars using separate adapters (RM-031, RM-031-5, or DM9523041, sold separately). Integrated mounting points let you attach an electrical connector plug bracket (sold separately), keeping your wiring tidy and easy to reach when setting up to tow.
Every part is finished in a powder coat for rust resistance through all weather conditions. Receiver covers protect the base plate openings from grime and road debris so everything stays smooth for your next trip. With its 3-year warranty and simple bolt-on install, it’s a dependable piece of gear designed to hold up through countless towing miles.

Base Plate is installed on 2018 Ford Focus and has about 10,000 miles towing. Excellent product.
With the aid of your videos installation was fairly easy. The cutting of the access holes were the most difficult requiring a die grinder with a thin cutoff blade.
Installed this myself using the instructions that came in the box and youtube videos. Everything went well except for aligning the internal nuts welded onto the wires with the bolts. This was difficult to get all the wires bent into the proper angles.
at first they said it would be here in 3 days? I didn't think so and did not care as this is a future project plan Greg explained that the base plate would work on my car, T had questions about it fitting with adaptive cruise control. next will be theair fprce one brake control as have to take so much apart i will do it all at once, Thanks for all your help

The product was excellent as was the instructions. I am a person that likes to do all maintenance and mods. I found the blue ox very easy to install. We have towedd the car approximately 7000 miles and no issues at all.

I havent opened the box to make sure everything is there, however, the shipping time was excellent very quick within a couple of days which is above and beyond in this day and time

It hasnt been a year i just installed the base plate on my 2016 Ford Focus SE and it did it ALL by myself. Took me about 15 Hours total straight time over 2 days. I had different tools and and did not have a lift so underneath drilling was more challenging. Cutting a square hole in the top frame took longer than expected as i used a drimmel and diamond cutting wheel. Getting the bolts down into the hold and getting the bolts to match took the longest time of everything. But all in all 2 good days of weather and the right tools completed the task and i am happy with the product and the results
This base plate has done fantastic. It was not difficult to install and has performed exactly as expected. etrailer was very prompt in filling my order, and I have no qualms at all in ordering from them again. My next purchase will be a hitch, and I will definitely order it from them.
Package was a little rough but the baseplate was in good shape. Parts was in a separate box with plate and in good shape. Nothing was lost.

We have really been pleased with how easy it is to get hooked and unhooked. My wife and I installed our base plate assembly all by ourselves with the awesome instructions it came with. 2017 Ford Focus Baseplate. Actually enjoyed it .
etrailer is 5 stars all the way. I ordered before noon on monday and the parts show up before noon on wednesday. I wasn't even ready for them yet! I ordered the rm-155 tail light kit and it installed easily the next day. I'm still working on the baseplate but it looks well made and all parts are there. There is no install with the tow bar but again it looks well made and all the parts are there. I will try and update after it's completed but life is getting in the way with family, again.
I wish all e retailers were this good.

After several thousand miles on this baseplate, there have been no issues. I am now to the point where I can hook up the car myself in under 5 minutes start to finish. The install was easier than I expected but I do have a 2 post lift in my garage. Fit and finish of the baseplate is very good and has gone through snow and rain also salt on the road. Would I use etrailer again? Absolutely!

I installed the base plate and diode electrical connection within a day and could not be any happier with the products and service. The videos and instructions made the installation of both items fairly straightforward. Both products have worked flawlessly and I can make the necessary connection of the tow vehicle to the RV in less than 10 minutes. I would highly recommend any of the products from eTrailer
