What's up everybody. It's AJ, with etrailer.com. Today we are checking out this locking bracket and padlock kit for your twin propane setup on your rig. You can see that I've installed it already and it's going to keep people from messing with the wing nut on top. I can't get it loosened, that way I can't take this off and that way I can't mess with these propane tanks. Let's check it out.
Taking a closer look at it, it's a zinc plated steel for both of these brackets, so you know they're going to hold up when you leave them outside. And I know this side's not all the way down there, but you don't have to worry about that. You really only need the padlock one side, so yeah, you can kind of pull that side out, but it's not coming out of there because this side has got the padlock through it, keeping it from popping out. After thinking about it, let's put it to the test actually. I'm just curious to see how it does work. What happens if I do pry this up and get this one in that looks like I can pop it out Will I be able to undo thisOkay, so I've popped that out, but the side with the padlock is still holding that bracket in there.
I can't maneuver enough to turn the wing nut still. So, the one padlock system sure does work. This is the other propane setup we tried earlier to get it to work with. And I think it will work, but I just want to point out some things that might get in your way. When we removed our handle nut here, the bracket didn't sit on here correctly with the other bracket because of this bracket right here.
It came in contact and you couldn't get one side fully in or a padlock and you wouldn't be able to tie it down. What we did, was we remove these screws and attach the regulator to the new brackets, the lock, but then this was in the way, so I go to tighten this back down and it kept coming in contact like that. And you couldn't get it fully tightened down.We thought maybe with a couple of washers in there, that would take some of the space out, but really, I think you'd just have to get another bracket for your regulator, which we have here on etrailer.com, so I would look into that if your setup is similar to this and your wing nut is as widespread as this. Now we saw how well that actually works. Let's see how to get it installed.
First off, every propane set up is not going to be the same. Yours might be slightly different. I would be mindful of where your regulator is. It does have points here to remount your regulator if it is in the way. There was another one we tried it on, the regulator was in the way, so I just unscrewed it. You can see the screws in the bracket here. You can attach it there and it'll be out of the way, but this one's actually down underneath, I don't think it's going to be a problem. Let's just take the wing nut off and give it a shot.Put our bracket on. This one doesn't have a whole lot for it to screw down on, but that's okay. That means it will be nice and tight, you won't hear it rattling around. Give it a couple turns until the bracket stops moving. It's pretty sturdy already right there. Now we just put our clamp through it and then we'll put our padlock through. Now, you can't take that bracket off and you can't loosen the wing nut at all, so nobody can mess with your propane tanks. It really is that easy to install. It's not going to take you that long and again, everybody's propane setup's a little bit different, but there's enough options here to kind of modify your setup and get it to work. I like that it's got it nice and tight. It's locked, but I mean, nothing's perfect. I think it just keeps people honest. They see the lock, they're going to go to the next one that doesn't have a lock and they're not even going to mess with yours. You can get these and with a silver padlock or the black padlock like we have here, or there's also one that just, you get the brackets. If you have another padlock you want to use, you don't need an extra one, you can buy just the bracket and use that set up. I will say, though, if you get one of the ones with the padlock, it is keyed alike to other Bauer's products. If you have some door lashes along the basement doors of your rig, that could be keyed alike to the padlock that just saves on having 25 keys on your key ring, when you can just have these two and it unlocks everything on your rig. That pretty much does it for this lock bracket for your propane tanks. Thanks for hanging out. I hope this helped..

Add a padlock (sold separately) to these hasps to lock down your propane tanks, keeping them safe and secure on your trailer or RV. Zinc-plated steel construction is corrosion resistant. Mounts to the threaded rod on your propane tank holder. It did not work on my tank mounting system. The bracket for the regulator and the height of the arms that hold the tanks down both got in the way.
Determined to make it work, I went back a week later and rearranged the regulator mount into a position that was far less convenient (I have to bend the regulator away from the wing nut in order to turn it). And yet, I could not get the lock shackle through the hasp.
Advice: Before you order, get the dimensions of this thing, and look very carefully at your tank mounting parts. For now, I'll have to use a cable-type bicycle lock.
This is a great little product! I feel much better knowing that my tanks are a lot more protected from easy theft. Easy installation. Great price, and great service!

Ive had this propane tank lockable hasp for a year now. It has held up really well. It secures my tanks very nicely, yet its easy to remove, once I unlock and remove the padlock. I really believe that this is a must have for anyone wanting to secure their propane tanks! Thank you for a great product!
The delivery was faster than expected!
This is a simple, efficient way to secure the two propane tanks on my camp trailer. It’s sturdy and strong and should hold up well to any weather over the months.

We’ve been using our lockable hasp for a year now and love them. They didn’t rust over the winter or in rain. At the price of propane, it’s good to know we can go for a hike or fishing and no one can easily steal a tank or two.
Very happy with this purchase. Extremely easy to install on my dual 30lb propane tanks. Seems to be good quality metal. I realize this will not "prevent" theft of my tanks, but will likely prompt potential thieves too look elsewhere.
As always, a pleasure to do business with etrailer. My order arrived in just a few days.

Still very happy with this purchase. The lock works well, and looks just like it did the day I first installed it.
String hardware and Very well made. This part did not fit or was adaptable our RV propane tanks. Well, I decided to go to our RV travel trailer today and show how the hasp doesn't appear to fit properly. I attached a picture to show that there is not enough space for the lock shackle due to the size of the propane tank crossbar. I also tried to flip the hasp and the part just doesn't seem to fit or able to properly secure the tanks.
I also attach a picture of a simple solution which requires only couple of holes drilled to the size of the lock shackle.

This clasp lock is meant to fit most applications however it does not fit all. I do have an alternate solution for you with part # 37230WH which is a propane tank holder kit that is lockable. The padlock that is needed will need to be a thin pad lock to fit. We carry the padlocks that will work in part # BA46VR.
On the road for 5 Months and the lock bracket does what it's supposed to do; protect the tanks from being stolen.
I attached my dual tank switchover to the bracket from lock kit and with a smaller padlock all fits and is secure. Video said this method might not work but it did for me
The lockable hasp fits and works as expected. Easy to attach. Purchased because with fuel cost rising, theft of fuel increases so I just wanted to take appropriate precautions and this item does the trick. Thanks.
Allways receive orders promptly from et railer
It fits very secure and I really like that it has the mounting holes on the bracket to mount the regulator on! Thanks. Highly recommend.
Worked as advertised. etrailer never disappoints in their processes.
Locking mechanism did not fit propane wing nut. I was unable to use it.

It looks like in order for this to fit your wing nut, the wing nut has to be two inches wide or smaller.
Product works great. I will say it doesn’t make it impossible to keep them thief’s from getting my propane tanks. It just makes it harder. If the want them they are going to work for them.
Also I would like to thank etrailers for their quick responses to the shipping issue I had. The envelope the product was shipped in was ripped and the hasp was missing and etrailers shipped a new one right away. Thank you.
As always, got what I ordered in a timely manner. Love my front hitch rack for carrying bikes and more as we RV around the country.
Next purchase is some stabilizer pads.
Can always count on e-trailer to find what we need.
Works well, very sturdy construction, easy install
Works as an expected. Simple design and keeps everything secure.
Incredibly fast shipping. The propane tank lock worked beautifully. No one is getting our propane tanks now. Will definitely buy from Etrailer way more times. Great job
The locking hasp arrived promptly and as advertised. Though instructions were not included, it was fairly easy to figure out how to use it. If the U-shaped component were longer to provide room for a sturdier lock, I'd give it a 5.
Still working like a charm
Works great. After doing research, it is just what I feel I need

I did not have a very secure method of locking my tanks. I feel much better using this with a much larger hardened padlock
This lockdown is working. I am holding down two tanks in the front of my trailer and required the spanner not wings to be bent up quite a ways to clear the pressure regulator for the propane tanks. A hammer and advice for required. The whole object was to prevent my propane tanks from being stolen
I was pleasantly surprised how quickly the item arrived. Thank you.
It looks like a quality product. Just received it in the mail. Have not put it on the camper yet.
Site was easy to buy from, parts arrived on time and good quality. Will definitely use trailer again!
