What's up everybody. It's AJ, with etrailer.com. Today we are checking out this locking bracket and padlock kit for your twin propane setup on your rig. You can see that I've installed it already and it's going to keep people from messing with the wing nut on top. I can't get it loosened, that way I can't take this off and that way I can't mess with these propane tanks. Let's check it out.
Taking a closer look at it, it's a zinc plated steel for both of these brackets, so you know they're going to hold up when you leave them outside. And I know this side's not all the way down there, but you don't have to worry about that. You really only need the padlock one side, so yeah, you can kind of pull that side out, but it's not coming out of there because this side has got the padlock through it, keeping it from popping out. After thinking about it, let's put it to the test actually. I'm just curious to see how it does work. What happens if I do pry this up and get this one in that looks like I can pop it out Will I be able to undo thisOkay, so I've popped that out, but the side with the padlock is still holding that bracket in there.
I can't maneuver enough to turn the wing nut still. So, the one padlock system sure does work. This is the other propane setup we tried earlier to get it to work with. And I think it will work, but I just want to point out some things that might get in your way. When we removed our handle nut here, the bracket didn't sit on here correctly with the other bracket because of this bracket right here.
It came in contact and you couldn't get one side fully in or a padlock and you wouldn't be able to tie it down. What we did, was we remove these screws and attach the regulator to the new brackets, the lock, but then this was in the way, so I go to tighten this back down and it kept coming in contact like that. And you couldn't get it fully tightened down.We thought maybe with a couple of washers in there, that would take some of the space out, but really, I think you'd just have to get another bracket for your regulator, which we have here on etrailer.com, so I would look into that if your setup is similar to this and your wing nut is as widespread as this. Now we saw how well that actually works. Let's see how to get it installed.
First off, every propane set up is not going to be the same. Yours might be slightly different. I would be mindful of where your regulator is. It does have points here to remount your regulator if it is in the way. There was another one we tried it on, the regulator was in the way, so I just unscrewed it. You can see the screws in the bracket here. You can attach it there and it'll be out of the way, but this one's actually down underneath, I don't think it's going to be a problem. Let's just take the wing nut off and give it a shot.Put our bracket on. This one doesn't have a whole lot for it to screw down on, but that's okay. That means it will be nice and tight, you won't hear it rattling around. Give it a couple turns until the bracket stops moving. It's pretty sturdy already right there. Now we just put our clamp through it and then we'll put our padlock through. Now, you can't take that bracket off and you can't loosen the wing nut at all, so nobody can mess with your propane tanks. It really is that easy to install. It's not going to take you that long and again, everybody's propane setup's a little bit different, but there's enough options here to kind of modify your setup and get it to work. I like that it's got it nice and tight. It's locked, but I mean, nothing's perfect. I think it just keeps people honest. They see the lock, they're going to go to the next one that doesn't have a lock and they're not even going to mess with yours. You can get these and with a silver padlock or the black padlock like we have here, or there's also one that just, you get the brackets. If you have another padlock you want to use, you don't need an extra one, you can buy just the bracket and use that set up. I will say, though, if you get one of the ones with the padlock, it is keyed alike to other Bauer's products. If you have some door lashes along the basement doors of your rig, that could be keyed alike to the padlock that just saves on having 25 keys on your key ring, when you can just have these two and it unlocks everything on your rig. That pretty much does it for this lock bracket for your propane tanks. Thanks for hanging out. I hope this helped..

Mounts to the threaded rod on your propane tank holder.String hardware and Very well made. This part did not fit or was adaptable our RV propane tanks. Well, I decided to go to our RV travel trailer today and show how the hasp doesn't appear to fit properly. I attached a picture to show that there is not enough space for the lock shackle due to the size of the propane tank crossbar. I also tried to flip the hasp and the part just doesn't seem to fit or able to properly secure the tanks.
I also attach a picture of a simple solution which requires only couple of holes drilled to the size of the lock shackle.
This lockdown is working. I am holding down two tanks in the front of my trailer and required the spanner not wings to be bent up quite a ways to clear the pressure regulator for the propane tanks. A hammer and advice for required. The whole object was to prevent my propane tanks from being stolen
This didn't work at all on my propane t anks!!
Very happy with this purchase. Extremely easy to install on my dual 30lb propane tanks. Seems to be good quality metal. I realize this will not "prevent" theft of my tanks, but will likely prompt potential thieves too look elsewhere.
As always, a pleasure to do business with etrailer. My order arrived in just a few days.
Just what I needed. Haven't been able to use it yet since it doesn't quite fit. The nut welded on my handle is too high therefore I can not install this. I will probably grind down the nut just a bit to get this to fit. Other than that, I think it's a fine product and the price is just right.
Liked the product. Does the job inexpensively. Good service and good website.
Fast shipping, correct website description, and great customer service. Thank you!!
The top plate tangs are too short due to the wing nut under it. No way to get a lock to work. Planing to send it back
Workz as it should
Great simple design. I have a bracket that hangs off the same spot. I put the u shaped piece under the big wing nut. Then the l shaped piece went on top and locked it perfectly.
Works great, my friend had his tank " borrowed" so I wanted to prevent the same type of event
This product meets the intent of its design and is affordable!
It arrived when promised… which seems to be rare these days
Works great. After doing research, it is just what I feel I need
Great service and fast shipping. The product works as advertised.
Simple to use theft deterrent.
Best bang for the buck! Less is always more in my book. Easy on easy off. Just a shame we have to go to such measures to prevent theft but this little guy does the trick of securing my propane tanks. I LOVE etrailer... these guys have everything that I need, super speedy delivery and just downright decent folks. 2 thumbs up!
Simple concept to deter theft of your tanks. Nothing is foolproof, but it'll definitely slow down the effort. May need some modification, as there are many different configurations, but fairly easy to do and set up for your application. Would recommend.
This is a substantially made, but basically very simple way to protect your propane tanks. I’ve seen a lot of different rigs advertised but this little guy it’s priced right, made right and will do the job. Of course if a crook wants to steal your tanks they can get in there with a saws all and get them, But this is his discouraging a rig is I’ve seen.
Simple system; works well!
Nicely made reasonably priced “ very happy with the product
Worked great!
