This setup keeps your vehicle’s front end looking clean when you’re not towing. The hidden design means no bulky brackets or crossbars stick out, and the removable arms come off with a simple twist. When the arms are out, receiver covers plug into place to keep dirt and debris out of the sockets and give the base plate a finished look.
The twist-lock system makes connecting and disconnecting quick and straightforward. Each arm slides into the receiver, twists to lock, and secures in place with a pin. When you’re done towing, pull the pin, rotate, and remove the arms. It’s a smooth process that makes hooking up solo or in tight spots simple and reliable.
This base plate bolts directly to your chassis—no welding required. The sturdy steel design spreads towing forces evenly to help prevent stress on your vehicle’s suspension. Powder-coated steel resists rust and corrosion, giving you confidence for long-distance towing.
If you already have a tow bar setup, this base plate works with Blue Ox tow bars right out of the box. It can also be adapted for use with Roadmaster tow bars using adapter # RM-031 or # RM-031-5 (sold separately) or with Demco tow bars using adapter # DM9523041 (sold separately). Integrated mounting points let you easily attach an electrical connector plug bracket so your wiring stays neat and ready to go.
You won’t need to weld anything for this install—the kit bolts securely to your vehicle’s chassis with the included mounting hardware. With a bracket distance of 20" and bracket height of 19", it’s easy to plan your layout before tightening everything down. The clear design makes it a manageable project for anyone who likes getting hands-on in the garage.

It was a good fit on my 92 Jeep Liberty.
Dust caps could be a little heavier but they fit fine

I took a 4000 mile trip last year with zero problems. Very happy with it
The only thing negative would be the bolt holes on the base plate were not exact to my 2004 Jeep liberty not real bad so I was able to make it work just fine. Overall good product. Can't wait to hook up to the RV and go.

great price and came in two days !
Base plate bx1119 and wiring kit hm56203 both were very easy to install , just follow the easy directions .I'm 73 and it only took me 4 hours to completely install both. I did it with the jeep sitting flat on garage floor.

Very good have no problems
The etrailer service was great as usual, but like other was very disappointed in the fasteners that were provided. Two of the four main bolts stripped when torqued to the recommended level. $20 trip to the hardware store to get grade 8 bolts solved the issue, but I should not have needed to make this upgrade. This is a safety issue that needs to be addressed.

1 year follow up. The blue ox baseplate has seen a lot of use and has performed flawlessly. My only complaint is that the paint has flaked off some of the parts and they are starting to rust.
Easy installation. Great product
Fit perfectly. Did not have to cut or alter a single bumper panel. Very little modification to hide the brake light and break away connectors.

Works like a charm. Vehicle has been towed from VA to Key West and back and several other closer trips with absolutely no issues.
