When you’re hauling big loads, keeping the trailer level makes a huge difference in how it tracks and brakes. This forged ball mount gives you an 8" drop so you can line up tall vehicles and heavy trailers without throwing off your balance. It’s built to handle 20,000 lbs gross towing weight and 2,000 lbs tongue weight, giving you the confidence to tow large campers, boats, or equipment trailers without stress.
Heavy-duty towing calls for strength you can trust. This mount’s solid, 1-piece forged steel construction eliminates weak points and flex while you’re under load. It’s the kind of dense, solid metal that feels ready for anything—no hollow shank or moving parts to worry about when you’re pulling serious weight.
No need to fuss with mounting or torquing your own hitch ball. The included 2-5/16" chrome-plated ball comes pre-torqued to factory specifications so it’s ready to use right out of the box. Just slide the shank into your 3" hitch receiver, secure it with a pin and clip or hitch lock (sold separately), and you’re ready to hook up and roll.
Towing gear takes a beating from rain, grit, and road salt, but this setup is built to last through it all. The ball mount’s carbide black powder coat finish resists rust, chipping, and UV damage, while the hitch ball’s chrome plating adds another layer of corrosion protection. It keeps its clean look and solid performance season after season.

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Curt Heavy Duty Forged Ball Mount. This is going to slide into your three-inch by three-inch trailer hitch receiver on your vehicle. It's then going to provide this two and 5/16 inch diameter hitch ball to connect to your trailers coupler. This hitch ball does come pre-installed and tucked to the factory specifications. So, it is gonna be a nice, solid connection for you there.
And then this is going to provide an eight-inch drop to fit your application. So if your coupler sits about eight inches lower than your hitch receiver, this is going to make sure that your trailer sits nice and level as you're towing it. This is a solid one-piece forged steel construction. So it's going to give us a 20,000 pound gross towing weight, which is of course the weight of the trailer plus the load included and a tongue weight or down pressure on our hitch ball of 2000 pounds. Our ball mount here, does have this corrosion resistant carbide black powder coat finish.
So it's gonna resist corrosion very well for us. Our ball does have a corrosion resistant chrome plating. So, again it's also going to be a very long lasting option for us. This does come with a limited lifetime warranty for the ball mount itself, the ball not included. This does not include a pin and clip that will hold this into your hitch.
You probably already have one for your hitch, but if not, it's just a standard five eighths inch diameter hole here. So it'll use your standard five eighths inch pin and clip. We've got lots of options available here at etrailer.com. We also have locking pins that will add a little extra security to make sure that no one's able to take off with your ball mount if you're not around. So if you do have a three inch hitch and you're needing to connect to a trailer that sits about, the coupler sits about eight inches lower than your hitch, this is gonna be a nice solid way for you to get that connected.
We do have other options available here at etrailer.com that will still give you that eight inch drop but they have stacked receiver tubes. And so it'll give you more adjustments. So if you are gonna be hauling multiple trailers and you want to be able to quickly adjust from one height setting to another, I would recommend those options. This is gonna be a pretty static feature for you. But if you're only hauling the one trailer, towing the one trailer, this will do a great job for you, making sure that you have a nice solid connection there. So that concludes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

VERY well, unlike everything else involved with trailering, this product has required little-to-no maintenance other than a little grease every now and then.

I love that, “huge chunk of steel” is about as honest as it gets. There’s definitely something to be said for keeping it simple. No moving parts, no extra pieces to worry about, just solid steel doing its job mile after mile. Hard to beat that kind of reliability when you’re towing. Sounds like you’ve got a setup you trust, which is really what matters most. What are you usually hauling with it?
