Today we're going to be taking a look at FloTool's GRIPTECH jaw style oil filter wrench. This filter wrench is going to make it easy to remove your filter, 'cause once they're on there, they're usually pretty tight. It has grooves that run up it, and they're fairly sharp, so they should dig in deep into the filter, making sure that you have a non-slip surface to take that filter off.Additionally, on our handle here we have some grips to help keep your hand from slipping off. This will ensure that you get a nice, non-slip twist on your filter. There's rubber grips at the top to additionally help it from slipping on the filter, and ribs down here on our curved portion that cinches tight against the filter. This filter wrench will work with filters from 2 3/4 - 4" diameter. The hook style here is nice a quick.
Simply open it up, slip it over your filter, and then as you're going counterclockwise to remove the filter, the jaw grips in, allowing it to easily pull your filter loose. Once you've broken it loose, you can take it off by hand the rest of the way.Now I don't recommend using your filter wrench to tighten down your filters, as you could potentially crush or damage the filter. So when going back on with the filter, you should always do it by hand. Now I recommend waiting to take your filter off until you have drained your oil at least some. You get your oil drained down.
Once it's drained down enough where you can position your pan over underneath your filter, you can then take your filter off while your oil is draining. If your filter isn't in a close enough proximity to your drain plug, then you may need to wait until your oil drains completely. Put your plug back in, and then move onto your filter. That completes our look at FloTool's GRIPTECH jaw style oil filter wrench.
Got tired of using a filter wrench with no grip to remove tight oil filters. This should take care of the problem for me and is of much better quality than the filter wrench I have thrown away to get it out of my life.
Good quality, works great
