Nice looking and very well put together from the mounting hole to the weld around the edges. Very impressed with the fresh water tank. Haven't put it in yet, but will come back with an update when I do. These tanks will fit nicely, the measurements are right and correct to what they say, about them in the specification section.

Theyre in now, for about two weeks and everything is just what I expected. Wish I could add a photo or two. I made a couple of modifications to them for the purpose cleaning the tanks down the road.

The tank has worked flawlessly on our ambulance camper conversion. The pre-threaded openings made installation super easy, and the opaque black finish keeps algae from growing inside the tank. Very happy with it.

@ClaireH Yes, my wife and I did the conversion. She handled all the soft stuff like cushion covers and I did anything hard or mechanical. We have a Youtube channel that covers it. Look up Wollwerth Imagery.

@ClaireH We're not traveling full time yet. We do get out as often as possible. Planning a cross country trip next year. My photography job takes me to some remote places sometimes.

Great design that allows for many layout options. I have a small 6'x12' converted cargo trailer. The tank does not take up a lot of real estate which is exactly what I needed. I wanted floor space for comfortable movement inside the trailer and for cargo hauling when not camping. I had to modify the tank in order to add a water guage sensor and a screw out deck plate to clean the tank. I do not recommend these modifications to be implemented by the manufacturer as they may limit the orientation options. The tank is built very well. It has a solid interior spine that provides stability. I was able to see the inside of the tank when I installed the deck plate. I don't have any complaints so far and I believe this tank will serve me for many years. Just remember to measure 10 times and cut once for any modifications. It plastic that holds water, so there is zero margin for errors.

The RV water tank works Just perfect. One heads up to all purchasing a tank - remember it needs a vent coming off the front top of the tank or it will burst when you add water - I learned the hard way.

This was a fast easy Transaction with E-trailer and I use them for just about all my parts for the RV.

The installation was super easy.

This Tank fits quite a few different Models.

When You get it you will need to drill out the already marked holes for your specific needs.

I set my old cracked tank next to this one and just copied what I had with the new replacement tank.

A little bit of plastic glue, which they sell the kit for that too.

Let the new tank dry over night and install in the reverse order you removed it.

Reconnect the lines and your done.

It just does not get any easier then this folks.

I actually have not installed it, my husband discovered the other tank was not busted, it just did not have a cap and the water was draining because of that, it is put up in storage for a just in case.

This water tank worked perfectly for my need. Its durable, and easy to install fittings into. Just used my drill and a hole saw to install the fill port. The fitting kit came with everything needed to make it a simple process.

I installed this tank in my Sprinter van RV conversion project. It has functioned very well, and is well made. I have it tucked into the back of a floor height cabinet, and is hooked up to a to a pump and my sink. I took a bit to get around to installing it after I bought it, but I have been using it for months and it is great!

The tank is installed in our Transit van and fits quite well on top of the rest wheel well. I wish it had come with better instructions on the size of threaded that fit and how to open the holes.

The first one I ordered split down the middle upon filling it up and it flooded my van. I probably over pressurized it. It was out of warranty. Because of the size restriction I ordered another one which has been working okay since.

Can Fresh Water Tank Be Replaced with a Larger Tank
Hey Rick, thanks for reaching out! As long as you have the extra space for a larger water tank you can definitely use it. For example, the 15 Gallon Valterra RV Water Tank # R8030 measures 30" long x 8" wide x 16" tall overall so you'll want to measure under your Coachmen to make sure this will fit.

Do Holes Need to be Drilled Into Valterra Fresh Water Tank for Fill Kit
Hey Andrew, thanks for reaching out! The drain plug on the Valterra RV Water Tank # R8030 is pre-existing, but to add any of the fill kits you will need to drill out one of the ports on the tank. I'm not seeing anything that has a 1-1/2" thread, but if you can let me know what part you're looking at, just let me know and I'll be happy to see if it's compatible or not!

Filling the Valterra RV Water Tank
One of the 3/8 inch ports is open on the Valterra RV Water Tank # R8030 and is plugged by the red cap like you see in the accompanying photo; this is where the tank would be filled. You would not want to modify the opening to fill up the tank, instead what you can do is use the Valterra ABS Tank Fill Kit with Threaded Cap # RK909 to make filling the tank easier.

Do they Make a Hot Water Heater Heating Element w/ a 3/8" Fitting?
There might be someone who makes one that small but none of ours are. Additionally, all of our heating elements like the Replacement Screw In Heating Element with Gasket for Dometic Gas and Electric RV Water Heater item # DMC49FR are specific to certain water heaters.

Can Valterra Water Tank Install Vertically?

How to Correctly Orient the Valterra RV Water Tank Part # R8030
There are a total of six 3/8" threaded ports on the Valterra RV Water Tank part # R8030. There are two on the top of one end and two on the bottom of the other end. There is also a center port on each side. Only one of the holes comes tapped from the factory which is the one with the red cap on it. The other ones would need to be punched out to use. Can You Use The Valterra Fresh Water RV Tank For A Gray Water Tank
You could use the Valterra RV Water Tank - Non-Toxic - ABS Plastic - 30" x 8" x 16" - 15 Gallons # R8030 as a gray water tank but gray water tanks usually have a larger drain hole to ensure that no food particles clog the drain line. This tank only has 3/8" threaded fittings to install the drain line. It would be a gravity drain and there are multiple fitting locations to allow for different positioning of the tank.

Cleaning Valterra RV Water Tank # R8030
Mix one cup of bleach to four gallons of water for a 15 gallon tank like this. Add the bleach solution to your tank, then fill it up all the way with fresh water. Let it sit for a day and then drain all of the water out and flush with clean water at least three times or until the bleach smell is totally gone.
