BAKBox 2 Collapsible Truck Bed Toolbox for BAK Revolver X2, BAK Roll-X, and BAKFlip Tonneau Covers

Video Transcript for BAKBox 2 Collapsible Truck Bed Toolbox Installation - 2005 GMC Sierra

Today on our 2005 GMC Sierra, we're going to be installing the Bakbox 2 collapsible truck bed toolbox for the back rolex and back flip tunnel covers. Part number BAK92100. Now here's what our Bakbox 2 looks like installed. As you can see here, even with the tunnel cover completely closed, there's still plenty of room bewteen the top of the box and the bottom of your tunnel cover. Now, to fold down or collapse the box, you'll simply pull up on the hook and loop strap. I'll do it here on the other side as well. Then we'll fold the front panel down. This is one way that you can collapse the box.

Or you can lift the front panel up and slide it over the top of the back panel, so it goes like that. This will give you some additional room in your bed in case you have a larger item that you need to carry. Now the Bakbox 2 also comes with this convenient storage tray that just sits right here on the top rails of the box. This will allow you to keep your smaller items contained and it can slide in any position along the top rails. Now let's go ahead and install our box. We're going to begin by installing each of the metal ends on the three piece panel section here. Go ahead and take this one right here and slide it in place first.

Now, there is a difference between the right side and the left side and you want to make these little slots here line up with the four pre-drilled holes in this panel. So, when you fold it up, the holes will line up top and bottom. Then, go ahead and take four of the shorter screws. We'll insert them from the inside outward, then install one of the lock nuts. We'll go ahead and install everything just hand tight for now, until the box is actually installed. We'll go ahead and repeat this process for the other three locations. Now that this side is completed, we'll go ahead and repeat the process over on the other side. Next, we're going to need to install the clips on each of the two brackets.

So there will be one on each side. But depending on which style tunnel cover you have, will determine whether you put the clips on the side marked B or the side marked A. Now for ours, because we have a back flip, we'll be using the side marked B. Next, we're going to need to install these little clips here on the bracket. Simply slide it over so that the hole lines up. Go ahead and repeat that process for the other side. Next, we're going to go ahead and take the longer screws.

We'll just loosely install this bracket. So, we'll feed the screw through. Just turn it in a little bit so it stays in place. Go ahead and do that on this one here, too. Then we'll go ahead and repeat the same process over on the other side. Now, this little lip here on the track is where this end here on the end plate will slide in. So, it'll be here and here, then the bracket that we just installed will actually go up underneath here. Now, we'll go ahead and take the box and we'll angle it up into the track here like this. And we'll go ahead and make sure that this back piece is up in the track area. Go ahead then and take our phillips head screw driver, tighten down these two screws here. Now, you want to tighten the screws down, but you also don't want to over tighten them. Now, with that in place, we'll come over to the other side and we'll have to adjust the end so that it can slide up into the track. Now that we've got this track in here, now that we have both of the top pieces in the track, we'll make sure that the underside is in the proper groove. We'll then go ahead and take our phillips and tighten it down We'll then go ahead and repeat the same process we did over on the other side. Next, we're going to go ahead and tighten down the other eight bolts, the four on each side. We'll be using a phillips head screw driver and wrench and tighten down then remaining eight screws. And that'll do it for installation of the Bakbox 2 collapsible truck bed tool box. Part number BAK92100 on our 2005 GMC Sierra. .
