    • Works with Advent Air AC units ACM135, ACM135B, ACM150, and ACM150B (sold separately)
    • Works with Advent Air air distribution box ACDB (sold separately)
  • Easy plug-and-play installation with included 30" power cord
  • Mounting hardware is included

Specs:

  • Capacity: 5,500 Btu per hour
  • Wattage: 1,500 watts
  • Overall dimensions: 15-3/4" long x 2-3/4" wide x 4-3/4" tall
  • 1-Year warranty

How It Works

Paired with your AC unit (sold separately), this electric heat strip takes the chill out of your RV on cool, frosty mornings. It is operated with the control dial on the air distribution box (sold separately). After you turn the dial to the heat setting, the compressor will shut off, and the fan will blow air over the heater and into your RV. When the optimal temperature has been reached, turn the dial to a fan or cooling setting. Please also note that the heat strip only has one temperature setting and cannot be controlled by the thermostat.

Simple Installation

Advent Air Electric Heat Strip

To install, mount the heat strip to the evaporator inside the AC unit with the included mounting screws. The heat strip has easy, plug-and-play installation with the supplied 30" power cord.

While they work with Advent air conditioners they don't work with my Coleman Mach thermostat system. This bit of information was left out of the description so I had to return them.

by:

Heat strip works great. Adds just enough heat to our RV so we don’t have to use propane on cool mornings. Etrailer has been great to work with!

by:

Heater mounts easily and install takes 5 mins. Plugs right into control box.

by:

The heat strip is easy to install, it is great if you only need it to break the chill, it does not get super warm, but it works for my general needs.

by:

The first time I plugged it up it didn’t turn on. I jiggled the cable and it started heating. I then installed it and turned it on again it doesn’t seem to work so I jiggled the wires and it seems to be working but it’s not very hot at all. Luke warm air at best. I’m somewhat disappointed with the outcome. I read reviews before I purchased this. Some said it worked well, and others said it didn’t heat well. I’m going with the latter. Does not heat well enough.

by:

Seems to be a pretty well made part. Blows warm air. But as far as shipping they are very slow. Warehouse is slow about putting your part out in a timely manner. Ordered on Friday morning got put out to ship Monday evening.

by:

Unit went out in less than one year. Things happen. ASA electronics sent out a new unit quickly but refuses to pay for the install on their faulty unit.

by:

Was hoping this would produce at least a bit of heat. Installed and then tested it while temp outside was 30F. First it drew more than 15amps, had to start the generator in order to produce enough amps to keep it running. After 20 minutes no real heat, so kinda sad. However customer service here is great.
Wish it was better, but hay not always what you expect, but I tried.

Still working fine, not as much heat as I was hoping however it helps in not having to use propane as much.

by:

Unit arrived, albeit late. Fortunately it’s not a big deal because I don’t need this particular part of my order for a few more months (it’s still the peak of summer for me).

by:

Works great... Keeps the house nice and warm. We used it all winter and it was perfect.

by:

Works well. easy to install. Only knocks the chill off. You will still need an alternate heat source if you are in cold weather.

by:

I installed the heat strip in my Advent air conditioner and it worked great, instructions were very good and it worked well, nice and warm. We had just installed the ac unit in a pop up camper and it was great, does not drip water on roof. Very happy. Steve

by:

Added as a second unit to a 33' Crossroads. Works great. Easy straight forward install. Using the ACRG 15 air distribution box with thermostat. All the wires are labeled from the factory so installation was a snap. Added the ACMHD heat strip also but it's 85 degrees and a little hard to test that out just yet. The crew at etrailer were great at helping me get everything picked out that I needed. Shipping was fast. If there was such a thing as a 10 star rating, they deserve it

Toasty heat strips

by:

I purchased this heat strip for the Advent AC135 rv rooftop air conditioner. The ACHD is the heat strip that is recommended for my unit but has been discontinued. The electrical specs for the ACHD and the ACMHD are the same, as is the width and height. I was able to match the curbside holes on the evaporator with the heat strip flange precisely. I mounted the heat strip and used the roadside heat-strip flange as a guide to drill two holes for a solid mount. Pretty simple after I clipped away a small portion of the cage that surrounds the heat strip. Plugged it in and, voila, heat. Works great. Sorry, no pics. And I don’t want to remove the shroud again if I don’t have to, as putting that back on was the hardest part of the job.

by:

A/C was delivered as promised, fit perfectly and operating better than the old Domestic that was replaced 3 years ago. Hopefully it will last as long as the 10 year old rear unit has lasted. I plan to replace it next summer with another one of these Avent units.

by:

I installed two of these strips. Installation is incredibly simple. You can get this done in 30 minutes or less with just a screwdriver. The one I installed above the main cabin keeps the RV comfortable. My bedroom area is signicantly smaller and the unit that services it keeps it quite warm. I usually have to cycle the fan and heat option to keep the temperature where I like. The Advent heat strip is a good option. For reference, I am living full time in my RV.

by:

worked great for us!

by:

I just installed the heat strip and it was simple. My original thought was to purchase this from a well known department store who cancelled the order. I then tried Amaz.... but their price was crazy. A call to the manufacturer directed me to etrailer! Pricing was very competitive in fact budget shipping beat everyone so I placed the order! I couldn’t believe how quick I received it. etrailer is on my speed dial now!

by:

Doesn’t work

I know that the heat strip gives off low level heat. Is it not working at all? When did it stop working for you?

by:

Always get knowledgeable people at etra iler

by:

I received the order a week early. Only issue is that the frame was damaged in shipment but was isolated to the frame and no other damage. Installation was straight forward. Installed on 7x14 trailer. Hardest part was removing vent opening sealant from the roof. Ran fine on initial start-up. Will test with heat load today.

by:

Seems like a great product so far. Installation was simple and it cools a 8.5x28’ trailer easy.

One note: you must have 120v and 12v supply for this AC to work. I did not know that and had to go through some extra trouble of running 12 V power source.

by:

The heat strip works well. I would like more temperature control. But it certainly warms the living quarters of my trailer.

  • Replacement for Carrier Air V RV Air Conditioner
The Carrier Air V RV Air Conditioner is no longer produced so a direct replacement of the same unit is not an option. However, we do have available the two Advent AC models that are designed as replacement units for the Carrier Air V. I recommend using the Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Carrier Setup, # ACCAR150 for 13,500 Btu's or # ACCAR135 for 15,000 Btu's. These options do not have a heat pump integrated into them. If however you decide later that you prefer, you can...

The Dometic air conditioner units are sealed therefore they cannot be recharged with refrigerant. The only option is to replace the unit. Since your unit is a 15,000 BTU unit I recommend to replace the AC with a unit at least 15,000 BTU. I recommend Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Dometic Setup w/ Start Capacitor part # ACDOM150 which is a 15,000 BTU system that will easily plug into your existing Dometic setup without replacing wiring. For an RV with a currently installed Dometic Duo-Therm 59516.531 AC unit, I recommend the Advent Air for Dometic Setups, # ACDOM150. This is a 15,000 Btu replacement option that plugs directly into your current Dometic setup and works seamlessly with your existing, in-good-working-order Dometic air distribution box and thermostat. The benefit of his option is that has an adapter wiring kit, which saves you time and effort. This does not have a heat option, but you can choose to add the...

For a replacement I recommend the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box and Wall Thermostat # ADV94FR. This has everything you need, including a digital thermostat, for a complete replacement. The system has a 13,500 Btu capacity and comes with a 2-year warranty. If you would like an electric heat pump the # ACMHD can be added on. You also have the option of adding the start capacitor # ACMSCKIT for a power boost if enough power isn't available from your generator or campsite.
