If you’ve ever worried about cab clearance when turning with a short-bed truck, this hitch takes that stress off your plate. Its automatic slider provides 18" of travel front to back so the head smoothly glides toward the tailgate in a turn and slides back when you straighten out. There’s no need to hop in and out to run a manual slider—the movement happens on its own every time you turn, keeping both cab and trailer safe from contact.
With a gross towing weight rating of 24,000 lbs and a vertical load limit of 6,000 lbs, this hitch is ready for big fifth wheels. The all-steel construction is both black powder coated and e-coated for corrosion resistance, and it’s tested to SAE J2638 standards. That kind of build means stability and strength you can rely on mile after mile.
Hooking up is fast and secure thanks to the wraparound single-hook jaw. Once the king pin slides into place, the jaw closes automatically and the handle locks in position—no extra steps or fiddling required. The full-contact design cuts down on rattle compared to slide-bar setups, creating a solid connection that feels locked-in when you pull away.
A dual-pivot head lets the connection move front-to-back and side-to-side to follow your trailer’s motion. That flexibility helps limit chucking and creates a smoother ride over uneven roads. It feels more natural through dips or turns because the hitch head works with your trailer instead of against it.
When it’s time to clear the bed, the SuperGlide breaks down into manageable parts. The base weighs 160 lbs total with a removable hitch plate that comes off separately at about 40 lbs. You can lift the sections out one at a time without heavy equipment so you can switch from towing duty back to using your truck bed without hassle.

Perfect fit, I'd say so! When are you going to be able to take it out for its first tow, Tommy?

The new hitch looks fantastic in your truck! Also, thanks for sharing about the clearance with the fender wells. We have not heard that feedback yet so it will be helpful information to have and share.

Thanks for the awesome review, David! And that first sentence might be the best installation advice we’ve heard in a while. It’s great to hear the SuperGlide lived up to expectations and gave you the clearance and maneuverability you were looking for with the short bed setup. Sounds like you really put it through its paces too, from parking lot testing to highway driving. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience, and happy trails and hope you have a great holiday weekend!

Overall, once the latching mechanism is well lubricated with WD40, as recommended, and after bending the trigger pin and breaking it off Pullrite sent me a replacement part quickly, and learning from Pullrite the best way to back the pinbox up to the hitch is to have the capture plate at a height near the bottom of the hitch plate and lit it slide up as you back into the hitch, will trigger the mechanism easily. And that certain works well now. I wish there was a way to raise the height of the hitch head, as we had trailer interference on the pickup bed on a tight turn where the truck was articulated uphill from the nose of the trailer. I am going to try lowering my trailer pinbox and see if I can get better clearance. That mishap cost me $3,200 in body repairs. Make sure you check you trailer nose clearance to the bed rails .. and after learning a hard lesson, you should be looking at a 5-6 inch clearance at a minimum when level. Overall, I do love the hitch!! And Pullrite was extremely responsive to my questions and need for a new replacement part.
