Hello neighbors and friends, Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together today at our side plates for your Demco Recon Manual Slide Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch for Rams. So folks, starting off, again, this is a custom fit application. It does fit the Ram pickup trucks. Go to our website here at etrailer.com, top center of the homepage, where it says my vehicle information, enter year, make, and model, cab size, bed length. Make sure you're getting the right parts for your specific vehicle.
Again, this says that it's before the Ram pickup trucks, but double check that to make sure it fits your Ram. That being said, the side plates do attach to your Demco Recon Manual Slide Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch. And it does fit specifically the 21,000 pound rated item number DM94YV. Again, that's DM94YV, and I'll throw an image up on the screen of this, and you'll see on that image that's kind of shadowed out the DM94YV that's sold separately, but that's what it's gonna look like when you got the complete kit installed. Now this does let you install that hitch into the pucks of your Ram's factory underbed rail system.
It's a simple bolt-on installation as far as installing this onto that main sliding hitch assembly. All the hardware's included. And I wanna come up here and kind of show you. So when it's time to put these into the pucks on the Ram, you're gonna undo the safety pin, and then this lever here will rotate. But more importantly, this puck here, if you watch that, it's gonna spin and rotate about 90 degrees give or take.
And that is gonna let you drop this into the puck system on all four of them. And then when you've got it in place, you simply turn that lever to lock it in place and put the safety pin in so it can't come out or shift or anything. So very nice design. Very simple design. That's what the puck system is for.
You're gonna get a set of hardware instructions as well, and it's kind of maybe hard for you to see it from your angle, but you can see it says cab and has the arrow point on both sides. So that tells you obviously which side needs to be pointing towards the cab when you're installing that midsection there. So it is a nice rust-resistant black powder coat finish over heavy-duty steel construction. Once again, you get all the hardware, all the handles, safety pins and everything I just showed you, those come pre-installed on it like you see here today. Well folks, I think that we'll wrap it up, again, double check our fit guide to make sure this fits your Ram. And that's gonna do it for our quick look at the side plates for the Demco Recon Manual Slide. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
The side plates were drilled for the proper alignment into my trucks puck system. I had to remove one of the spacers under the locking lugs to allow the lugs to turn while fitting into the puck system (per instructions), but the rest was easy.
